Because the Governor General is supposed to be free from political bias and directly represent the constitution word for word, same with the senate and same with the courts. The EL and Legislature for representatives is supposed to be the political side but is checked by the non political branches to prevent corruption.

Have you noticed how the countries and islands still under the British queen are free of corruption and the countries that left including the US are full of corruption?

Like Jamaica and the Bahamas? :roflol:

You can't get anything done in either country (both of which are part of the British Commonwealth, and that have appointed Governor-Generals) without extensive bribing of officials. Much more so than U.S. interests in the Caribbean.

You must be anti-gun because you are unaware of how life really is. I wish I still lived in a dream world like you do.

When real change is needed it happens. The governments are responsive to there citizens unlike the us who despite people demanding universal health care they refuse.

Also Jamaica is 30% less corrupt tham the us per the corruption index

Look at you -- he provides 2 example that disprove your statement, and you move the goalpost.
More proof there's no reason to take you seriously.

You've obviously never been to Jamaica. Please post the supposed index. My guess is that it's weighted to make the U.S. look bad.

Here is one where people rated their own country--the Corruption Perceptions Index. U.S. is 16 (Score 75), Jamaica is 68 (Score 44), and the Bahamas are 28th (Score 65). The lower the score, the more corrupt. I think you read your index the wrong way. Again, I think you tend to interpret wrongly, which is why you made the erroneous conclusion that guns are bad and crowns are good. What high school will you go to next year?

Oh woops, How can a country where everyone who goes into politics (for the most part) become a millionair in office, be that low on the corruption scale, bribary is freaking legal in the US. Corruption should be based on how much money people make in office (more then pay) how equal the popular oppinion is to policy, and how fair elections are. US sucks at all 3.

So in other words, you have no evidence other than "US bad" and "I hate Trump." Grow up. Believe it or not, we have a pretty good system that produces pretty good results with not much corruption. We are on par with most of the western world in terms of corruption, meaning we try, but aren't perfect.

Yeah thats why it took us 100 years to enforce the 14th and 15th amendments right? Thats why we are the only country in the west that has political judges? Its why the US spends so much money on pointless wars but not healthcare, education, or infrastructure? Also why we can't get commonsense gun control?

There's no sense at all in any of the gun control you support.

Because East and West Coast liberals aren't willing to sacrifice their elitist lifestyles to move in sufficient numbers to the Heartland and turn enough red states blue to overturn the Second Amendment.

I absolutely hate the way justice is administered in other countries. They are why we had a revolution. I believe in jury of our peers, not in judges making the decisions (which is the case for much of the rest of the western world.). Man, you love the idea of monarchy and totalitarianism.

We have commonsense gun control. We have a list of people that can't have guns due to their actions. They are not legally allowed to own guns. What more would we need?

The thing is, our country is in a very low crime period of time. Our violent crime rate is much lower than it was just 30 years ago, and has stayed fairly low. This happened during the same time period when more states allowed their citizens to carry guns legally, and when we've had extremely high sales of new guns. In fact, we have less restrictions on guns than we had 24 years ago, yet we have much lower crime. Guns don't cause crime.

I wish your utopia good luck. Then maybe people with totalitarian attitudes like yourself will run away from the U.S. and allow those of us who like freedom to govern.

Common sense gun control is to harshly punish the usage of guns in committing crimes--like the 10-20-Life we used to have in FL. Having a gun while committing another crime added 10 years to sentence for that crime. Brandishing the gun while committing another crime added 20 years to sentence to that crime. Using the gun (firing at someone) while committing another crime made it an automatic life sentence. It's silly to ban objects. We should punish actions.

    So you're American ??

I thought you were Communist. Or British. Or European. Or worst of all Auzzie -- they recently turned Communist.

If you're American then you should leave America.

You can always move to California though. No big diff.

Slaughter is the price of freedom.

If you can't take it then give yours up.

Don't try to take away others' freedom or else you will yourself get inadvertently slaughtered.

America is not a land of puzzies. Move away. Or go to California.
