Many many times I have pointed out here that some us states have until recently had laws protecting paedophilia .

No all I said is your example of paedophilia wasn't.

We don't even know if the marriage was recognised by the state, but even if it was, do you think that if it wasn't legal that it would've stopped them from getting married under the religion and living together?

You didn't read it properly. Read it again, paying particular attention to the parts in bold:
So in a case by case situation, the state would not have allowed the marriage in your above example.

    Who married a Jew?

Girls as young as 10 were among the minors who wedded under legal loopholes

There is no teenage couple thing going on in the source of the independent.

Yes it would. Parent consent of an arranged marriage did the trick in my previous example.

    Mohammed did

Yes, the law allows them to get married under the law, and so they took advantage of that, but if it didn't allow them to get married under the law, do you think that it would've prevented the inappropriate relationships from happening?

Well it does state that "14 per cent of the children who wedded were married to other minors" but my point is that this is why it is in law, for two minors to get married. You can see that can't you?

Yes and I am saying that it should have required MORE than just parental consent. I am suggesting that the state should always sign off on it and it is criminal that it does not. The law doesn't actually need to change, just the process to prevent inappropriate marriages. However, if two horny 17 year olds conceive a child, them getting married could help the kid. Don't you think?

So why did he say that inter faith marriage wasn't allowed?

So much for your "We don't even know if the marriage was recognized by the state". And I dunno why it matters if people who play pretend to be married. If the law gives you the chance to, than you got no grounds to go jaw drop on a muslim nation doing the same.

I can't see that because it's used for grown adults marrying children more than half their age.

    Why ask me?

Yeah, we don't know whether the first marriage that you mentioned was recognized by the state, at least not from the article that provided the link to. Anyway, it doesn't matter.

People only "jaw drop" on Muslim nations because of how often it happens in those nations. However, the fact that it is in US law, and the fact that there are many examples of inappropriate marriage, then no American should be able say much, other than it happens way more in other countries.

Yes, but surely you can acknowledge what the law was originally intended for can't you? You surely know that it WASN'T originally intended to be used for grown adults to marry children more than half their age.

Also, as to why most state governments don't get involved, do you suppose that cultural/religious sensitivity and political correctness has something to do with it? This is the only thing that I can think of. Governments SURELY must know that these sort of inappropriate marriages exist, not least because of campaigning, yet they don't do anything about it. Why not? It is an interesting question.

    Are you a Muslim?

There is no reason to doubt that, since it's legally possible.

Negative. People jaw drop when an incident comes to light in the international press.

As far as I can tell. You made it up. And even if so... how utterly irrelevant. The US is right on par with Islamic nations who do the same.

I refuse these personal questions like this or my whereabouts.
Such information only gets used to make personal attacks.

Well use your brain. You don't ACTUALLY think that it exists purely to allow piece of sh*t old men to marry little girls do you?

Not in terms of number of child brides though, right?

Well if you ARE a Muslim, I would've though that you would be able to defend your faith a little.

As far as I know, they could have done for the sake to have this free country and let the people live their lives thing.

I dunno. But we're talking about legislation here.

You asking me why Mohammed did something / said something. I simply aint no clerk. If you got questions about it... go find one or look it up.

As for defending something. You're defending a pedo law here. I dunno if that's the way to go.

Yes, Not me is a muslim, a very ill informed one, who will blame Christians for anything Islam does.

One example is he will blame one isolated example of young marriage, which was at the discretion of the courts anyway, one he knows nothing about, and try to use that as an excuse to equalize an entire culture doing child marriage.
Where In most, if not all, cases, the girl has no say in the matter.
Many times the child will be rapped, and the man will have to marry her.
Many are set up rapes between families.

But he will use an isolated case in the backwoods of Appalachia, to justify an entire culture doing it.

Muhammed, the main person in a world religion, at 50, married a 6 year old, so this practice is not going to go away.
He also married his cousin. You can get away with that for a generation or two, but not 1400 years.
Muslim countries are ripe with birth defects.

It's obvious, he jumps to their defense, uses all the typical Muslim excuses, blames Christianity, and knows very little about the religion of Islam..
