That what they told her... she entered America 116 times before without incident, then Trump gets elected and she writes a book about multiculturism and suddenly there's a problem with her visa status.

ps. remember Australians don't need a visa to travel to the US

I read your link. Even in that link Mem Fox says she was detained because of a mistake over visas, the immigration people were confused and made a mistake. It had nothing to do with being profiled or because she had written a book about multiculturalism.

Whats amazing is your insistence that the incident was due to Fox being targeted because she wrote a book on multiculturalism - even though Fox herself makes no such claim.

And your link (to ABC news? US ABC news is an organization shown to collude with the DNC and Hilary, and full of people with Trump derangement syndrome) is mainly a lot of unproven opinion.

Fox was very badly treated. It was not due to profiling or her book.

That is your opinion and your prerogative, I see her harassment by border control, very much in line with what's currently happening to other tourists and business people who visit America. It's worse than ever and the huge decline in travel dollars at the end of the year will prove you wrong.

1 - with respect to Mem Fox, it is not my opinion. It is Mem Fox's own statement.

2 - I do not disagree with you that the USA immigration officials were out of control. But homeland security, TSA, NSA, and law enforcement in general are all out of control. It did not start with Trump, it really started with the Patriot Act in 2001. Harassment of innocent people by TSA and other officials is not new, Americans have suffered under it for 15 years and it gets worse every year. Look on youtube for videos of TSA "searching" (what would be called sexual harassment by a rational person) children, little girls, women, old ladies in wheelchairs.

3 - travel is down, so what? There are many reasons for a decline in travel to the USA.

The source for the claim that US travel is down since Trump is https://medium.com/foursquare-direct/coming-to-america-528312934221
Read it. Its part guesswork, part politics, and part marketing. His source for data selection (people opt in to allow their computer and smart phone to be monitored) is also inherently biased.

Name them... the many reasons travel is down... allow me "Trump" :roflol:

if you're not worried about the travel dollars (a measly  US$185 million in four months!) obviously you're not in the travel industry and probably not going to lose your job... like many others.

Personally I am quite happy to have your US travellers visit Australia instead :)

Why has travel declined? Read the reports - people worldwide are having financial trouble, people are concerned about terrorism. People everywhere are traveling closer to home rather than taking long trips, and travel to the USA is a long trip.

And pay attention - the travel decline started months before Trump was elected, in those months everyone expected Hilary was going to be an easy win. Read the reports.

You cannot blame it on Trump. To do so is simply Trump Derangement Syndrome.

I'll bet the rioting and violence from the "progressives" has more to do with the drop in tourism then Trump.

    <>

Bringing the USA out of "progressivism" is more important than tourism. If the cost of saving the USA is a small loss in tourism (and no doubt a temporary drop then that's fine with me. I'm not going to sell my freedom for 30 pieces of silver.

You clearly have not read anything, you claimed and as far as I have seen still claim that Mem Fox was harassed because she was profiled for writing a book on multiculturalism - and Mem Fox herself in her own words contradicts your claim.

And your own links about Mem Fox disprove your claim that she was profiled over her book. You obviously put up links without reading them. Anyone can google and cut and paste, its not about quantity, its quality that matters.

Trump administration takes travel ban challenges to the Supreme Court

President Trump's executive order is well within his lawful authority to keep the nation safe and protect our communities from terrorism," Justice Department spokesperson Sarah Isgur Flores said.

"The President is not required to admit people from countries that sponsor or shelter terrorism, until he determines that they can be properly vetted and do not pose a security risk to the United States," she said.

Rightly, the Justice Department accused the judges in Hawaii and Maryland of "judicial psychoanalysis" by taking campaign statements made by the president out of context.

"The decision below is the first to hold that a provision of federal law – neutral on its face and in operation – violates the Establishment Clause based on speculation about its drafters' supposedly illicit purpose," the Justice Department said.

Trump has said the order is necessary to protect Americans from terrorists.

Are we to leave our national security and protection of American citizens in the hands of the courts or the commander in chief? This is the ultimate issue to be decided. The president has determined that travelers from countries that sponsor terrorism or that experience a large number of terrorist attacks could present a danger to the U.S. unless vetting procedures, weakened during the Obama administration, are made more robust. Opponents have no argument to counter that position.
