    *These are some common goals set during the month of Ramadan:

    Memorize/complete the Quran. Completeing the Quran can be accomplished by reading just 20 pages each day.

    Praying 5 times a day.

    Spending more time at the Mosque.

    Giving more charity.

    Seeking forgive from Allah SWT.

    Working on getting over bad habits.

    *Of course these goals vary with each person, but these are usually the common ones.

    *Sahoor is the name for the meal eaten before sunrise, to begin the fast during the rest of the day.

    *Before starting a fast, Muslims often make dua, which is a supplication type prayer.

    *The dua for begining a fast is:

    Wa bis awmi ghadinn nawaiytu min shahri ramadan

    *Translated in English, this means: I intend to fast on this day in the month of Ramadan.

    *This dua is not obligatory. Your fast will still count even if you don't say it.

    *Iftar is the evening meal during Ramadan, eaten to signify one is breaking his or her fast.

    *There are two Iftar dua's: one for before you eat, and one for after you eat.

    *The dua said before you eat is said, and then usually followed by a glass of water and a date, the traditional food to break ones fast.

    * Allahumma Inni laka sumtu wa bika amantu [wa alayka tawakkalto] wa ‘ala rizqika aftartu

    *Translated into English, it means: O Allah! I fasted for You and I believe in You [and I put my trust in You] and I break my fast with Your sustenance.

    And:

    - thugs;

    - heavenly virgins, sometime referred to as wishful thinking for those who can't 'get it' in this world;

    - praying on mats everyday whilst endlessly droning, sometimes referred to as prayer;

    - women covered in bags, who have been cowed by their religion to believe that every man is a potential rapist.

    Yes, some religion.But who really wants to believe in any religion in the 21st century.It hasn't been very good for boys in the RC Church has it?

    Islam is beautiful, if you are neutral. Dont let your emotion control your mind. Woo shaa, be neutral to see anything. Analogy.

    Three Historians, want to write an essay about historical figures. Example George Washington.
    The first historian like George Washington, what he wrote? all about the goodness of George Washington.
    The Second Historian hate George Washington so much, what he wrote? all about the badness of George Washington.
    But the third historian neutral minded, what he wrote? he wrote the George's biography honestly, he wrote any of kindness and badness of George Washington.

    What goes to your mind, it depends on how you feel it :)

    Effective Leadership principles of Prophet Muhammad (s)

    Author: Muhammad W. Khan

    It is a well-known fact that the Prophet of Islam (saw) was the supremely successful man in the entire human history. But he was not just a hero, as Thomas Carlyle has called him. According to the Qur’an, he was the best example for all mankind. He has shown us the way of achieving supreme success in this world. By studying the life of the Prophet (saw), we can derive those important principles which were followed by the Prophet (saw). Indeed, the Prophet of Islam (saw) was a positive thinker in the full sense of the word. All his activities were result-oriented. He completely refrained from all such steps as may prove counter-productive.

    First Principle: To begin from the possible

    This principle is well explained in a saying of Aishah. She said: “Whenever the Prophet had to choose between two options, he always opted for the easier choice.” (Al-Bukhari) To choose the easiest option means to begin from the possible, and one who begins from the possible will surely reach his goal.

    Second Principle: To see advantage in disadvantage

    In the early days of Mecca, there were many problems and difficulties. At that time, a guiding verse in the Qur’an was revealed. It said: “With every hardship there is ease, with every hardship there is ease.” (94:5-6).

    This means that if there are some problems, there are also opportunities at the same time. And the way to success is to ignore the problems and avail the opportunities.

    Third Principle: To change the place of action

    This principle is derived from the Hijrah. Hijrah was not just a migration from Mecca to Medina. It was to find a more suitable place for Islamic work, as history proved later on.

    Fourth Principle: To make a friend out of an enemy

    The Prophet (saw) of Islam was repeatedly subjected to practices of antagonism by the unbelievers. At that time the Qur’an enjoined upon him the return of good for evil. And then, as the Qur’an added, “You will see your direst enemy has become your closest friend” (41:34). It means that a good deed in return of a bad deed has a conquering effect over your enemies. And the life of the Prophet(saw) is a historical proof of this principle.

    Fifth Principle: To turn minus into plus

    After the Battle of Badr, about 70 of the unbelievers were taken as the prisoners of war. They were educated people. The Prophet(saw) announced that if any one of them would teach ten Muslim children how to read and write he would be freed. This was the first school in the history of Islam in which all of the students were Muslims, and all of the teachers were from the enemy rank. Here I shall quote a British orientalist who remarked about the Prophet of Islam (saw): He faced adversity with the determination to writing success out of failure.

    Sixth Principle: The power of peace is stronger than the power of violence

    When Mecca was conquered, all of the Prophet’s (saw) direst opponents were brought before him. They were war criminals, in every sense of the word. But the Prophet (saw) did not order to kill them. He simply said: “Go, you are free.” The result of this kind behavior was miraculous. They immediately accepted Islam.

    Seventh Principle: Not to be a dichotomous thinker

    In the famous Ghazwa of Muta, Khalid bin Walid decided to withdraw Muslim forces from the battlefield because he discovered that the enemy was unproportionately outnumbered. When they reached Medina, some of the Muslims received them by the word “O Furrar (O deserters!)” The Prophet (saw) said “No. They are Kurrar
    (men of advancement).” Those Medinan people were thinking dichotomously, either fighting or retreating. The Prophet (saw) said no. There is also a third option, and that is to avoid war and find a time to strengthen yourself. Now history tells us that the Muslims, after three years of preparation, advanced again towards the Roman border and this time they won a resounding victory.

    Eighth Principle: To bring the battle in one’s own favorable field

    This principle is derived from the Ghazwa of Hudaibiyya. At that time, the unbelievers were determined to engage Muslims in fighting, because obviously they were in an advantageous position. But the Prophet (saw), by accepting their conditions unilaterally, entered into a pact. It was a ten-year peace treaty. Until then, the meeting ground between Muslims and non- Muslims had been on the battlefield. Now the area of conflict became that of ideological debate. Within two years, Islam emerged as victorious because of the simple reason of its ideological superiority.

    Ninth Principle: Gradualism instead of radicalism

    This principle is well-established by a hadith of Al-Bukhari. Aishah says that the first verses of the Qur’an were related mostly to heaven and hell. And then after a long time when the people’s hearts had softened, the specific commands to desist from adultery and drinking were revealed in the Qur’an. This is a clear proof that for social changes, Islam advocates the evolutionary method, rather than the revolutionary method.

    Tenth Principle: To be pragmatic in controversial matters

    During the writing of Hudaibiyyah treaty, the Prophet (saw) dictated these words: “This is from Muhammad, the Messenger of God.” The Qurayshi delegate raised objections over these words. The Prophet (saw) promptly changed the word and ordered to write simply Muhammad, son of Abdullah.

    These were the principles through which the Prophet of Islam (saw) gained that success which has been recognized by historians as the true success.

    The Light Of Truth

    What is life?

    Man's existence in this world and the creation of this entire universe are not mere accidents or products of a fortuitous nature. This universe, every single atom of it, manifests and leads us to the realization of a Loving, Merciful and All-powerful Creator. Without a Creator, nothing can exist. Every single soul knows that he is existing and that his existence is dependent upon a Creator he knows for sure that he cannot create himself. Therefore it is his duty to know his master, the Creator. Mankind: Man is a unique creature. God gave man the ability to govern over all other creatures in this world. He is endowed with the faculty of reason which sets him apart from all other animals.

    Together with this faculty to discriminate and discern, man is given the freedom (free-will) to choose for himself a way of life worthy of his position or to fall lower than the lowest of all animals or creations. Man is born pure and sinless and is given the choice to do righteous deeds or indulge in sins. Divine Guidance: The Creator, out of His abundant Love and Mercy for mankind has not left us in darkness to discover the right path by trial and error alone. Coupled with our intellectual capability to reason, our Creator bestowed upon us Divine Guidance that outlines the criterion for truth, knowledge, as well as the reality of our existence in this world and the Hereafter. Revelations: From the beginning of mankind, our Creator sent Prophets to convey His revelation and to invite human beings to the path of true peace and obedience to the One True God. This is Islam. This message is conveyed towards successive generations of man through the different prophets, all inviting mankind to the same path. However all the earlier messages or revelations from God were distorted by people of later generations. As a result of this distortion, pure Revelation from our Creator was adulterated and polluted with myths, superstitions, idol worship and irrational philosophical ideologies.

    ~~~~~
    Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reports that the Prophet said: "Whoever recites Surah al-Kahf on Jumu'ah will have illumination from the light from one Jumu'ah to the next." This is related by an-Nasa'i, al-Baihaqi, and alHakim.
    Ibn 'Umar reports that the Prophet said: "Whoever recites Surah al-Kahf on Jumu'ah will be blessed with a light that will rise from underneath his feet to the peak of the sky. This will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be forgiven for what is between the Jumu'ah [and the next] Jumu'ah." This is related by Ibn Mardwwiyah with a faultless chain.
    Reason tells me if life can’t just exist on its own whiteout direction god cant and that if a god can just exist on its own then anything else can end up existing on it own
    God Himself deliver that message personally coming to us as Jesus Christ just like Satan rejected God so did Mohammed.
    On that note, after all the 1st generations Christians were gone many false prophets started to distort the true message of God as reveal by Jesus Christ. Christianity became fragmented with many heretical sects claiming to be the true messenger of God. Mohammed was that generations that totally distorted the pure revelation of God and would start and succeed to spread the anti Christ ideology that Jesus Christ is not Son of God creating a parallel religion opposite of Christianity, Islam is the total opposite of Christianity.
    In Islam that one god they preach about is not the Christian or not the God of Abraham.
    This is the true Light of Truth.
    Christian faith has every right to stand up to Islam and to all other heretics that for centuries have been persecuting Christianity in all forms. Islam have took it to extreme level by creating a parallel religion, that is why Muslims have a hard time integrating with history because Islam contradicts with history and truth.
    Islam claim to be the second largest religion is mainly base on their militant policies of preventing Muslims from leaving Islam and using militant force to keep Christianity out.
    In spite of these very militant Islamic policies thousands of Muslims have brave themselves to leave Islam and this goes back to this;
    Man's existence in this world and the creation of this entire universe are not mere accidents or products of a fortuitous nature. This universe, every single atom of it, manifests and leads us to the realization of a Loving, Merciful and All-powerful Creator. Without a Creator, nothing can exist. He is endowed with the faculty of reason which sets him apart from all other animals.
    Islam is against reason, against free will and it is against Jesus Christ.
    Verily, your Lord knows that you do stand (to pray at night) a little less than two thirds of the night, or half the night, or a third of the night, and also a party of those with you. And Allah measures the night and the day. He knows that you are unable to pray the whole night, so He has turned to you (in mercy). So, recite you of the Qur'an as much as may be easy for you. He knows that there will be some among you sick, others travelling through the land, seeking of Allah's Bounty, yet others fighting in Allah's Cause. So recite as much of the Qur'an as may be easy (for you), and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat ) and give Zakat, and lend to Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you send before you for yourselves (i.e. Nawafil non-obligatory acts of worship: prayers, charity, fasting, hajj and 'Umrah), you will certainly find it with Allah, better and greater in reward. And seek Forgiveness of Allah. Verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful .
    It is impressive to see around 3 million people from around the world to converge on one place at the same time to worship an imaginary entity. And millions do it every year. It has to be the greatest annual human migration.
    This is very disappointing considering that dogs, IMO, are one of the most loyal animals one can find. Why the dislike?. Many of the religious beliefs, such as not eating pork, can be science based, but hatred of dogs?
    This happened to me once. Went to bed when it was pouring with rain. "Woke" up, looked at the clock, 7am, looked down and saw myself asleep on the bed, went over to the window, no rain but sunshine. Woke up couple of hours later and yes, it had stopped raining and was sunny. strange!
