You want to argue. That is clear. I didn't say times were perfect or without flaws.

And print money so that your savings becomes worth less as inflation starts to increase.

we were the only country with an intact manufacturing infrastrucure post ww2. Not rocket science.

But by 71, we'd already spent way more than we took in, and defaulted on our global gold obligation due to excessive dollar printing.
No matter how much you give the bastards, they always spend more. But they can always count on their little cheerleaders

Exactly the left always wants to take history out of context, wants to claim high taxes were our success...fine go back to high taxes, if you give us the lax rules and regulations of the day..

    Wrong an all points.

The obama recession was not the worst since the Great Depression, the Carter/Reagan recession was worse than the obama recession. The difference is that Reagan implemented policies that allowed the recession to end, obama implemented policies that extended the recession.

The Great Depression for the USA did not end due to massive spending during WW2. The American people were under just as much privation during WW2 as the years just before.

What got the USA out of the depression was that the USA was the only industrialized nation unscathed by WW2. Much of the world was devastated and provided a ready and huge market for American industry and services. The USA encountered a severe but short post war recession due to demobilization (there is always a recession after war), but as soon as American industry and society reoriented towards meeting the worlds material needs the economy prospered incredibly.

War spending did not end the Great Depression for the USA, the devastation resulting from WW2 ended the Great Depression for the USA.

By the way, Hitler brought Germany out of the Great Depression in the late1930's, he was praised by world leaders for his "economic miracle".

Jobs? Part time jobs with no benefits. Trickle-down economics has been disproven. Nothing meaningful has trickled down. The right is a dismal failure.

We can't. The republicans have cut taxes well below a reasonable level and now they complain that we can't afford this and that and that the debt is too high. We're reaping the fruits of low taxes.

It recycles. It isn't up or down but both. Everyone does better when the movement of cash through buying and paying occurs at a faster rate due to an increase in overall production and increased goods for all.

maybe if the libcommies collected more taxes for health care, for example, we could pay 5 times what the civilized world pays for health care rather then 3 times.

Double? That's lame. We should multiply the minimum wage by 20. That will make workers double-plus moneyful.

Then it seems that approach can't work because the unemployment rate is low, people are not sitting back waiting to start buying (they're buying all they can), and business is able to produce much more than can be consumed. So buying and paying isn't going to speed up and an increase in production would just end with a growing unsold inventory.

This is why industry, overall, is not investing in an increase in productive capacity. Capacity utilization is not maxed out as it is.

And this is why the left has been saying we need to create BETTER jobs paying more by investing in infrastructure, and to fund it we need to raise taxes on those who can afford it without hurting them.
