The fact that Democrats, who would never vote for any one who didn't have a (D) next to his/her name, are saying positive things about Bush - is a good reason why everyone else should not support the guy. Don't let them pick the GOP nominee. They've been playing this game for years.

    I agree.

Jeb says his political idol is democrat Lyndon B. Johnson.

Arguably the most destructive progressive politician of the 20th century.

    No thanks, Jeb Bush.

He does seem honest to the point of stupidity. I'll give him that.

Compromising just means he doesn't have principles. The peoples interest is not to compromise with the democrats.

    True. Me too.

If "high approval ratings amongst Democrats" is a metric you look at when deciding who to vote for, why not vote for Hillary? I'm sure her approval ratings are even higher.

No, the metric I will use to decide my vote this time is simple: Whoever is the least like what we have had since 2008. That you could not see past that one sentence in my post to glean the larger meaning is surprising to me.

So you're looking for the person most unlike Obama, a Democrat, so you pick the candidate that has the highest approval ratings amongst Democrats? Does that make any sense?

There will only be ONE to choose from on election day. That's the one I'll vote for.

Besides, I didn't pick Bush. I'm not campaigning for Bush. I think it's silly for him to even run. In fact, I said in this thread he'd never become the nominee. Further, I've said elsewhere in this forum in the past that I'd abstain from voting if he was my only choice (I've since reconsidered that, because... liberal progressives.... damn.). This THREAD is about Bush, hence my focus on him.

Again, that you cannot seem to glean the larger meaning of my post is surprising to me. In re-reading it, I can see how you may interpret it to be cheerleading for Bush. Believe me, that's not the case.

You (and the left) want to prop up Jeb Bush and only pretend to hate his brother because he is the most beatable candidate the GOP could ever hope to have.

It's not a bad strategy for the Dems, I don't blame you for using it. Just don't expect me to not see your true colors.

You and I seem to be two of a very small number of people to see it that way.

I ask people, when have the left ever said "we need to compromise toward the middle" with anything?

We keep hearing from the leftists how the Reagan Era is over and something new must be tried. I ask, when have you ever heard the left say "the war on poverty has failed and a new approach is needed"

Compromising isn't their thing. They only like compromise insofar as they can get their political opponents to compromise with them.

The military experts change their minds every day. Fact is, de-Baathification of the Iraq military caused ISIS. That was ALL on Bush.

Jeb is the new king of flip flops.

Here he is confronted over his words on President Obama and ISIS:

Jeb Bush Confronted By College Student: 'Your Brother Created ISIS'

A college student told likely GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush on Wednesday that his brother, former President George W. Bush, was to blame for the rise of the Islamic State.

The heated confrontation took place at a town hall meeting in Reno, Nevada, according to The New York Times. Ivy Ziedrich, 19, a student at the University of Nevada, approached the former Florida governor to question him about comments he had made during the event. Bush had argued that the Obama administration's weak foreign policy was responsible for the rise of the terrorist group, also known as ISIS, in the Middle East.

Ziedrich countered that Obama wasn't to blame -- and that it was his predecessor's decision to disband the Iraqi army that made the group's formation possible.

"Your brother created ISIS," she told Bush.

Every word of her statement is correct. But to the right wingers this is not fashionable or politically correct.

Elect another Republican into the White House and soon enough there will be another profit making war - one paid by the taxpayers.

Right wingers are stupid. Not necessarily for ginning up the war (they had promises to keep) but for thinking anybody believes a word they say anymore.

Jeb Bush is way too moderate. There is piddling little difference between him and a democrat. That said, the main reason I will never ever vote for him is his involvement in the S&L Scandal from back in the late 70s to early 80s in South Florida. Many people lost everything they had, Bush made millions.

Jeb is a Very weak candidate. He is relying exclusively on Big
Donors as is Hillary. At least Obama had to earn his Candidacy
by daily going out and Hoodwinking the Masses.
Which at this point seems to be likened to a Jeb/Rove strategy.
Frankly I wouldn't trust a Guy like Karl Rove who looks like
    Porky Pig with a Tie.
I used to Like and defend Rove. But he's been Outted.
He's a Front Man for Big Elitist Washington Insiders. No Question.
His total Disdain for The Tea Party is telltale.

One could argue that Jebby is the less dishonest in his blatantly pandering to the moneyed elite he hopes to serve, I suppose. Of course, if Clinton were elected, the oligarchy would still win big time, but if Jebby came out ahead they'd win even bigger.
