Maybe don't send multiple white cops to a domestic dispute in a black neighborhood? That only seems to escalate situations.

I'd rather they didn't use lethal force to begin with. Tackle him, handcuff him before he gets to the vehicle. Tazer him.

I couldn't disagree more with your assessment. The guy ignored cops and walked away from them and reached into his car for something. Were cops supposed to wait until he came out of the car with a weapon and pointed it in their face? This was a good shoot based on the video evidence.

I wanted to way in on this BEFORE the facts were in because I knew the city would burn before the full story was known.

My disgust for BLM grows each time they don't use the megaphone they currently have to call for calm before facts are known (and after, but I keep my expectations low).

I can't be the only one who sympathizes with blacks and their apparent disproportionate ratio of bad encounters with police BUT at the same time can't stand BLM.

 

Are you joking now? The police should have a map on the wall marked "White Area" and "Black Area" and dispatchers are suppose to put out a call "Black officer need 10-24 at ............."

Should only white officers be sent to white neighborhoods and Asian officers only sent to Asian neighborhoods?

Here's thought, how about blacks start acting civil and not resisting arrest and getting phyiscally violent with officers and pulling weapons on them. How about they not burn down and destroy other people's property when the police engage in a lawful shooting?

Where the suspect ignores orders to stop and reaches into a vehicle for an unknown object. Good shoot and cops did what they had to do.

 

The one thing in common with damn near every police involved shooting, funny how many on the left tend to ignore that.

From watching the video it does look like he may have been going for a weapon, or at the very least getting into his vehicle to flee which would also be a problem; that said why did the officers let it get to that point?
Looks like there were at least two of them (could be three, but I can’t tell from the quality of the video) on site. Neither had a taser handy? From the start of the video they had approximately 7 seconds to deploy one.
Can’t find any news reports indicating they made the attempt prior to the shooting.
Seems like poor training to me.

Another situation cops are called to handle and mishandle the situation and escalate it instead of deescalating it.

 

Comply or die is not a legitimate defense for police shootings.

 

He already had a weapon, the knife and a reasonable person would believe he is reaching for a gun.
