    My plan calls for my dog to intervene but I only need time enough to get to my long gun, I'm not counting on my dog being able to keep the bad guy(s) entertained until the police show up. I sincerely hope your plan is never tested. Pat the dog on the head for me. :)

    The problem with this idea is you are expecting the government to do its job in a productive manner.

    You can own a gun in New York City, if you are one of the 500 people the government actually gave the license to.

    The government should have no say in how its citizens are armed, it can become just as much of an enemy as any foreign entity.

    I expect *nothing* from the government except for it to continue to grow itself in complexity and in control of my life! The Bureaucratic Hegemony we live under today has no other goal than to tell us *exactly* how we must live every hour of every day, *exactly* how we must think every hour of every day, and *exactly* how we must spend every dollar we have.
