Since the entire state benefits from its services, it should be state funded for the most part. Extend Medicaid and the problem is solved.

GOP congresswoman gets surprise on Facebook after asking constituents for Obamacare horror stories

She expects to see "horror stories" like the made up ones the Republicans always complain about. Instead, she got the TRUTH that the right wingers refuse to see. Here are a couple of examples:

My whole family now has coverage. The ACA is the cause for this, I work in health care, I have seen the increase in covered patients first hand. The next step is universal coverage, this will truly lower costs and provide the best care. Cathy, you barely work, spend most of your time catering to special interests so you can be re-elected.. All while receiving a large wage and the best health insurance and care. Stop telling us how it doesn't work while enjoying your tax payer funded care and life.
Instead of trying to repeal it why don't you improve it? Our local rural clinics are packed daily with people who have needed healthcare for years!! it is a godsend. It is pitiful this nation does not have healthcare for all and that doesn't mean the EMERGENCY room!!

Contrary to the lies of the far right, ACA does NOT create "death panels" and saves lives every day!

    Happy anniversary, Obamacare!

Posted on March 27, 2015 by Ben Crystal

Has it been five years already? With, ahem, absolutely nothing else of consequence clogging up his schedule, President Barack Obama took center stage at a Wednesday party celebrating Obamacare’s fifth anniversary. The White House put together a ceremony only slightly less choreographed than his Rose Garden victory dance with the parents of alleged deserter Bowe Bergdahl.

I watched Obama brazenly congratulate himself for perpetrating a fraud on the American people like some gangsta-rapper wannabe braying about knocking over a 7-11. “This law is saving money for families and for businesses… This law is also saving lives. It’s working, despite countless attempts to repeal, undermine, defund and defame this law. It’s not the fiscal disaster critics warned about for five years.”

As has become customary for this administration, Obama’s minions even produced one of their nifty little hashtags, “#ObamacareIsWorking,” to commemorate the event because self-congratulations in 140 characters or less are much easier that way. I must admit, at first I found his unmitigated gall almost impressive. Claiming a disaster like Obamacare as a signature domestic-policy achievement would certainly require nothing less than spectacular hubris, if not outright sociopathy. But then, something occurred to me. Obamacare is Obama’s signature domestic policy achievement.

Obama has certainly stumbled through his tenure so far. His watch has sent a record number of Americans into permanent unemployment and sentenced unprecedented masses to life on the welfare rolls. He’s engaged in a pattern of abuses of Americans’ civil liberties that would make the KGB blush. His accomplices, including such worthies as Lois Lerner, John Koskinen, Susan Rice, Hillary Clinton and Eric Holder, have clearly committed breaches that normally end up in front of juries, while fouling the public discourse with the sneering mendacity that made MSNBC every bit the “success” Obamacare has been.

While liberals continue to crow about Obamacare and its rather dubious “successes” like the oft-repeated claim that “(insert grossly overinflated number here) people who didn’t have insurance now have it” or something to that effect, they’re very carefully not discussing the side effects, which in many cases are far worse than any of the myriad diseases Obamacare won’t — and can’t — cure. Someone ought to remind Obama that it’s not really an accomplishment if you forced the subjects to buy something you didn’t really plan on offering and that they didn’t want in any case. It’s even less so if you forced them at gunpoint. And let’s not beat around the bush, kids. Anytime the federal government makes you do something, it’s at gunpoint. A group of Americans who had no choice in the matter are currently learning that lesson the hard way as they discover their Obamacare subsidies are headed back to D.C. via the Internal Revenue Service.

Someone should also remind Obama’s devoted followers that Obamacare and actual healthcare are not — nor were they ever supposed to be — the same thing. If you had cancer before Obamacare, you still have cancer. The only difference is that you might need to see a different oncologist — in the event that your previous doctor was on the surprisingly long list of those whom you couldn’t keep, even if you did like them. However, if you were a fit, healthy, nonsmoking triathlete whose plan was suitable for your needs, you’re now not only paying more for the same thing, thanks to Obamacare, you’re paying more for less, since you still don’t need the extra coverage and the doctors whom you did like left their practice thanks to Obamacare.

Of course, even when Obama makes a mountain out of a fraud-riddled molehill, he can’t do it without making a fool of himself in the process. During his remarks, Obama jabbed at conservative opposition to his criminal enterprise, presumably joking when he asked: “Kicking millions off insurance will somehow make us more free?” Evidently, the president forgot the millions who were kicked off their insurance by Obamacare, despite his promises to the contrary. The Democrats are fond of discussing Obama’s “presidential” demeanor. And nothing says “presidential” to me like sophomoric jabs from a lame-duck has-been whose paper-thin ego is more important to him than his own party’s future.

Notably, among the hordes of attendees — and by “hordes” I mean “number lower than Joe Biden’s IQ score” — were three whole Democratic legislators. Despite their professed admiration for the lumbering legislative behemoth, the bulk of our port side legislators skipped the big day to attend a speech to a joint session of Congress by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. It’s not that they didn’t want to be there for the big anniversary photo op; it’s just that they were dying to hear from a guy whose name Obama apparently can’t remember on a bet. Say what you want about most Democrats, but they’re smart enough to shore up their alibis.

Unfortunately for them, those alibis are thinner than Obama’s delicate self-image. Last fall, Obamacare extracted a heavy toll from the legislative side of the Democratic machine. With their party trapped in a death spiral heading into 2016 — their top contender remains the laughably unelectable Hillary Clinton — the last thing they need is Obama nailing a copy of Obamacare to the electorate’s door. And yet that’s precisely what he’s doing. Happy anniversary, Obamacare; you’re the gift that keeps on giving.

I guess they'll have to figure it out for themselves when their medical is no longer free..............

I realize this is antidotal, but recently riding with a "Medical Transport" driver, a free service paid for by Medicaid to "so called poor folks, he told me many stories of abuse. On that day, we picked up a woman with one child, didn't speak English. We drove past several Clinic's, even a Hospital (All took Medicaid) to a small clinic 40 miles away. The child had a cold and it was her choice to use this facility. Anyway, their were four late model pick up's in the driveway to an upper class home, said to be her husbands.

I asked if this happens very often, he replied "on a daily basis", then told another story. He once drove 90 miles, to pick up a male. Then he drove 4 Blocks to the clinic, waited 10 minutes, drove him back those 4 blocks. He asked the patient, why he didn't ask one of his four grown kid's, with newer cars, to take him and he answered "I didn't want to bother him".

Taxpayers paid about $300.00 on the first example and the second around $800.00. The driver, my friend and unable to work a regular job, was paid $10.00/Hour.

I take the bus to my appointments but if that wasn't an option I would call for a ride to and from my provider, not all people on Medicaid waste money my job is to stay as well as possible to save money for Medicaid and use unnecessary services my MMA arranges. YOUR paying for my Medicaid benefit as taxpayers and I shouldn't waste it. But some don't seem to care they don't get this isn't free someone pays so we get help.

if you like your insurance, you can keep it.
If you like your doctor, you can keep him.....
You keep beating the dead drum. What are you going to do to for those others when SCOTUS kicks ACA to the curb? You gonna pay their medical bills for them?
How many people lost good insurance because they didn't have childcare included? They didn't need it. like me, because I don't have children in the house So, I'm paying for their medical How many lost their insurance because their policy failed to cover the other moocher? 1 million, 10 million?
How many people who pay for ACA actually get to use it?
You have $5000 laying around to cover the deductible..oops, I forget, you don't pay for your insurance, I do..............

If you have private health insurance you don't have to use Healthcare exchanges otherwise known as Obamacare. The wealthy have private insurance or insurance through their employers. There, that wasn't too hard to understand, was it!

The rich aren't buying it because taxpayers finance Fortune 500 companies which get a deduction on their 1120 corporate forms every year. They have been the beneficiaries of corporate welfare all his time so there is no incentive for them to buy what is provided for FREE by the taxpayers. This proves that you CAN keep your coverage which is what these elites are doing.

Thank you for proving my point.

Your past makes no sense at all. Corporations and even small businesses can deduct the premiums they pay for employees. Small businesses, unincorporated can only deduct their employees premiums, not their own. Corporations can deduct all premiums from the CEO and his/her family, down. Quite unfair if you ask me. If the Federal government really wanted to be fair they would allow all taxpayers to deduct their premiums from their gross income. This would have lowered the cost of insurance for all able to pay for insurance and would be less costly to the taxpayers in the long run.

Obamacare was a poorly written law, passed so quickly that not even the President or the Dem. majority understood it and they definitely didn't take the time to identify portions of the law that needed to be deleted and/or rewritten prior to passage. Perhaps they knew so many voters were against it that they felt they had to push it through before mid-term elections. What a bunch of crooks. Plus, the real beneficiaries of this law were the Insurance Companies that stand to gain the most. And you say Democrats aren't in bed with large corporations and health insurance companies? Lie

The truth is ACA is costing the middle class.
The truth is the unions hate the poor and the sick.
The truth is ACA was an attack on the middle class.
Aimed to lower the living standards of the middle class.

A thread that was bumped a hundred times by yourself, to keep it on the front page, really needed a sequel ?
Is Obamacare so bad that you need to keep defending it?
How is anyone supposed to take you seriously when you usually post memes instead of words?

Obamacare was built on lies, and supported by the stupid. Ask Gruber.

    Lol...

And why the profanity bypass ?

This is why the right wingers hate Obamacare:

    http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/...king-about-all-that-good-Obamacare-nbsp-stuff

Republican senator to White House: Stop talking about all that good Obamacare stuff!

Robust enrollments and shockingly good healthcare cost estimates are nothing to celebrate, says Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY). So he wants the White House to just shut up about it already.
"It's time for the White House to stop celebrating and start thinking about the people," Barrasso said on the Senate floor on Wednesday.
He also criticized the administration for touting a report from the Congressional Budget Office on Monday, which found that ObamaCare was becoming cheaper in the long run. Those costs were dropping because of decreases in healthcare spending and a smaller-than-expected enrollment drive—which Barrasso said is nothing to celebrate.

Actually, the costs are even lower than what the CBO estimated spending on health care would be before the law was implemented. So even with the subsidies and Medicaid expansion spending added into the mix, the government is spending less on health care overall than the CBO projected five years ago. Which is pretty much a big deal. No wonder Barrasso doesn't want anyone talking about that.
"The Obama administration and every Democrat who voted for it should be embarrassed for it," Barrasso says. This is coming from the guy supposedly "leading the Senate’s working group to create an Obamacare alternative." He should know from embarrassed.

Only unpatriotic America haters want to see Americans die. Meantime we patriots celebrate the saving of money and lives.

Thank you Mr Obama! :flagus: :flagus: :flagus:
