I'm not privy to it nor claiming it is what should determine ours or NATO's spending.

    Yes I believe so.

So, how much have they increased their military investment?

Which country? They haven’t all increased by the same amount.

Since 2015 defense budgets have increased by around $38Billion as agreed under the obama agreement to the end of 2018. No doubt trump did provide the fire to ensure those expenditure commitments continued to increase.

Here is the official NATO report on military expenditures. NOthing like going to the source for actual data.

NATO members increased overall defense spending for a second consecutive year in 2017 as President Donald Trump turned longstanding U.S. calls for Europe to foot more of the common security bill into blunt criticism of allies.

Total defense expenditure by North Atlantic Treaty Organization members grew to 2.42 percent of their gross domestic product last year from 2.4 percent, the alliance said in an annual report released on Thursday in Brussels. The increase in 2016 was the first since 2009.

BRUSSELS ― NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg says allies have stopped cuts in defense spending and started to increase burden-sharing, something U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly called for.

Stoltenberg was speaking on the first day of a meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels, which comes ahead of a NATO summit in the city in July.

"All allies have stopped the cuts, all have started to increase and the majority of allies have put forward plans on how to meet the 2 percent, or spend 2 percent on defense, by 2024,” he said. “I welcome the fact that Germany has stopped cuts, Germany has started to increase and also the plans to increase German defense spending by 80 percent over a decade.”

Right, but your question needs more clarification for me to answer, because not every country in NATO has increased its spending at the same rate.

    You made this claim:

"NATO has been consistently increasing their military investment every year since they made their original pledge under Obama."
Do you want to modify your claim?

Here is an excerpt of reports from Obama's NATO summit in Wales.

    https://www.ibtimes.com/obama-wants...l-ukraine-isis-reality-says-otherwise-1678618

    09/04/14 - (Note this date)

Obama first made reference to NATO members’ military spending as he addressed delegates at an event in Estonia on Wednesday, saying, “We need to keep our alliance strong for the future. And that means investing in the capabilities, like intelligence and surveillance and reconnaissance and missile defense.”

Over the last decade, according to SIPRI figures, many NATO members have been cutting back rather than increasing defense spending, with the U.S. often picking up the slack on NATO missions, including the soon-to-end 13-year conflict in Afghanistan.

By 2013 levels, only the United States, Estonia, France, Greece, Portugal, Turkey and the U.K. spend over 2 percent. The rest vary as low as Luxembourg’s 0.5 percent and Hungary’s 0.9 percent up to Poland’s 1.8 percent, and for many spending is coming down, not up.

Five NATO members are expected to meet the alliance’s 2 percent target for defense spending in 2015, according to data released on Monday.

Poland joins Britain, Estonia, Greece, and the United States as the only members of the 28-country alliance to meet the threshold.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg commended the change, but warned that total alliance spending will decline by roughly 1.5 percent this year.

Interesting that you cherry pick from 2015, when the NATO members already had their budgets in place and couldn’t increase them until the next year.

All of them, since you claimed NATO increased spending. Do you want me to repost your statement?

Why oh why would you care. They call it the European Union you know.
It's like saying Mississippi didn't pay it's share.

But having said that. If you want to play that game it should be easy for you to answer the question @Questerr ask you.

    Are you Quester babysitter?

Why do I need to answer to you?

I'm not the one who made the claim. Quester can either provide the information, or not. I've posted multiple links, graphs, etc..

    What have you done?

Remember me? I'm the one that posted the graph that shows the NATO countries have increased their contribution since Obama ask them to.

Remember me? I'm the one who posted graphs and articles from 2014, 2015, 2016. Remember this quote from June 2015?

"NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg commended the change, but warned that total alliance spending will decline by roughly 1.5 percent this year."

    Seriously. Are you okay?
Obama spoke in 2014, Stoltenberg in 2015.
    2015 was higher than 2014.

So you are attempting to contradict the statement from NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg along with the additional data I provided?

All from one graph you haven't linked to anything?

    Are you ok?

I think the graph says it all.
2015 and every year after have been larger than 2014.

All from one graph you should have looked at before you made a false claim.
The link is in post 61.

That's nice, but yellow is not my favorite color and it doesn't show what happened from 2014 onward.
    Shall we stop now?
