Perhaps Democrats ought to change their strategy.

You would prefer we not have a military and not have a NATO then?

He has no such need and his praise was substantive as opposed to your whining about it.

I would prefer the USA not be a member of NATO. Let them fend for themselves. They would never come to the assistance of the USA.

Let them hate us from a distance.

Tax rates were increased by Clinton when he came into office on a very strong recovery upward growth of tax revenues. His tax rate increase slowed GDP growth and slowed tax revenue growth from 9% down to 7%. Then Gingrich and Kaisch and the Republicans took back the Congress and forced tax rate cuts and spending restraint and welfare reform and then balanced the budget and produced the surpluses.

    Not because of Bush/Republican budgets.

What does your graph have to do with total capital gains tax revenues?
    Clinton 29% rate - $66B
    Bush 15% rate - $137B
    https://www.taxpolicycenter.org/statistics/historical-capital-gains-and-taxes

Under the Democrats it went from 4.5% to 7.5%, under Obama and the Democrats it went from 7.5% to 10% and stayed over 8% for the next 4 years even though Obama said his stimulus would hold to one quarter at 8% and then quickly fall. It has fallen a further 20% under Trump, that fall starting as the Republicans took back the House, then the Senate then the WH. And now we are seeing the LFPR starting to move back up as wages are rising.

Sounds like the first year was not his budget, the second sounds like

Trump orders Cabinet to cut agency budgets by 5 percent
    https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/white-house/trump-orders-cabinet-to-cut-agency-budgets-by-5-percent

Will you support those cuts? Will the Democrats? If not what are they proposing to cut the deficits? What are the Democrat announced candidates proposing and spare me the "make the rich pay their fair share" canard and sloganeering.

I AGREE, elect more fiscal conservatives and kick out the Democrats and RINO's. Keep putting people back to work becoming taxpayers, revenues, and fewer on government dependence, expense. Higher corporate earnings more corporate income tax revenues, yes we knew that would fall first year do to one time accelerated depreciation's and repatriation's. GROW GROW GROW.

What are the Democrats offering? Convince me they have the better plan if one at all.

    Under Republican policies yes.

    They reduce revenue growth.

It went over the cliff under Democrat policies, as the Republicans took back more and more power it leveled off and is now starting to recoup. How did Gingrich and Kaisch increase it and get people back to work, welfare reform. Tighten the work rules, shorten the length of time and able bodied worker can remain on government subsistence. That along with increasing wages. And it's not so much "higher" education as in four year degrees, we need to get off this EVERYONE must go to a four year college and provide more vocational training, more robotics and automation training, more two year associate degrees and we need to do a MUCH better job K-12.

Substantive is a big word for you. Can you actually explain how the praise met that criteria. We all know Trump doesn't know the difference between NATO dues and military spending.

No NATO despite our moron in chiefs pronouncements is a good thing. Our bloated military budget which to a large extent is just a boondoggle designed to fight the wars of the past is hugh waste of money unless of course one is stupid enough to think we will fight a WW2 style war against China.

I think the head of NATO was clear and substantive in his statement as much as you wish to try and maringalize it. You know what you think you know and nothing more.

It's a good thing when they pull their weight and take on more of their own defense but even though that will lessen our burden you will complain about it while at the same time complaining about military spending. And yes we may very well fight a conventional war against China or even a future eastern bloc. I have no faith in your crystal ball or military strategy expertise or geopolitical prognostications.

Trump has no troops on the border with China. But he has them on Russia's border. Why you said China is amazing to me.

No did you see we just deployed an aircraft carrier filled with new F-35's to the South China Sea to counter Chinese military moves in the area?
