And it is much more than that. Going outside the chain of command, writing a memo to people outside his chain of command, and possibly releasing it to the press without authorization. All of those in the past have been causes to relieve people in the past, and he did all of those.

And in reading the memo, it is basically 4 pages of his whining, without offering any solutions. I have read and written thousands of official military memos, and that one comes off more as an informal "Memorandum for the Record", something somebody puts down primarily as a "cover your ass" when instructions are given verbally either to document them, or because the person writing it does not agree but will follow them anyways.

And yea, written those out also, but those are generally just filed away in personal memo files, not distributed to other individuals. And once again, 4 pages of whining, bitching that not enough was being done, and that even more had to be done. And not a single suggestion of how things could have been improved!

Basically, I see it as a "Career suicide attempt". Although instead of the attention that he wanted to get, instead he got the equivalent of being committed into a mental institution. Yea, still getting attention, but in no way how he expected.

And in the weeks since this broke, I find it fascinating how 95% of the comments praising him are really just attacks on the President. And also that not a single one of them (and I have asked repeatedly) has offered a single suggestion on how things could have been done better. I have long ago filed this entire incident into a bin marked "Garbage".

And am waiting, knowing that those with TDS will soon come out with yet another piece of fake outrage.
