I dunno, man ... they say if you can remember the 60s, you weren't really there. :eyepopping:

Personally, I'm still waiting for all the intense flashbacks that they promised us LSD users we would have for the rest of our lives. :smoking:

I know what you mean. I was at Woodstock. I remember going there. I don't remember much about being there or the trip home. All sort of a big blank.

Who cares if I guess the wrong number? If you do not know who Neil Young is, you are either a hermit or young, take your pick.

Neil Young has sold over 75 million albums world wide and is an American Icon, and there is no way in Hell Joe Rogan is more famous than that. I mean, Rogan is famous, but he is no 'American Icon'.

    It's a joke, of course.
You should meditate and look for the dancing light in the center of your being ( with your eyes closed). That dancing light, if you can find it, will bring back an light LSD trip, if you try hard enough but it might take some time, and I will note, getting it without drugs it takes a whole new dimension and is quite something to behold.

Neil Young was born in Canada and took 74 years before he became a US Citizen, Joe Rogan was born in New Jersey, a US Citizen and currently has a MUCH! larger following in the United States than some Drugged out Canadian HASBEEN that thinks he can dictate who a Swedish company (Spotify) has on their media. Good on Spotify for telling Neil Young to Scram! and not let the door hit him in the Ass, while keeping Joe Rogan, which was a good business decision.

Can you show me that exception in the 1st amendment?

Actually that is a myth, yes you can.

Why Falsely Claiming It’s Illegal To Shout Fire In A Crowded Theater Distorts Any Conversation About Online Speech

It keeps coming up, the all-too-common, and all-too-erroneous, trope that “you can’t shout fire in a crowded theater.” And it shouldn’t, because, as a statement of law, it is completely wrong. It’s wrong like saying it’s legal to rob a bank. Or, perhaps more aptly, it’s wrong like saying it’s illegal to wear white after Labor Day. Of course such a thing is not illegal. It’s a completely made-up rule and not in any way a reflection of what the law on expression actually is, or ever was. And it’s not without consequence that so many people nevertheless mistakenly believe it to be the law, and in so thinking use this misapprehension as a basis to ignore, or even undermine, the otherwise robust protection for speech the First Amendment is supposed to afford.
    https://abovethelaw.com/2021/10/why...istorts-any-conversation-about-online-speech/

It depends if you can in that it has to be malicious and with intent to harm. Otherwise lots of people posting here could be charged with a crime.

Cite that portion of the US Code please.

So what? He was still huge in America and Canada and the world, during his time.
75,000,000 albums sold, sorry. Rogan doesn't trump that one.

These two are two different eras. So, apples and oranges comparison.

    Apples to apples, then.....

Rogan will never match Young, in Rogan's era, than Young did in Young's era.

In short, during Young's time, he was an icon.

During Rogan's time, the current, he's famous, but an icon, he's not.

As a man of 70 years, I can say it with some authority having lived during his era, as an adult.

    You used to be cool?
And now your posts come off as stuffy and stiff, like a conservative. Maybe I've mispegged that assumption?

Neil Young was famous in the 60's and 70's
Young was famous in the 60's & 70's and yes, sold millions of albums in his career, but to think Neil Young is as popular today as Rogan on Spotify would be Insanely wrong. Nit even close.

During Young's era, he was an icon, right up their with Dylan, Clapton, etc. Sold some 75 million albums.

Rogan in his time, now, he is just famous. He is NOT a 'pop icon' is the sense of what the term means. Not in my opinion, anyway.

That is the correct apples to apples comparison.

The thing that confuses me is this guy was supposed to be a hippie someone who was against the man. And here he is trying to cancel somebody effectively acting like the man.

Further I think the term misinformation or disinformation is just code for opinions I don't like but cannot argue against.

Geez, I wish you guys would READ the subject matter(s) of these threads...

He gave them a choice... and they chose the misinformationist..., but he forced them to choose.....

What that might cost him in Spotify income (??) will be made up elsewhere... (not by me)

I may have had one. Do you know I actually once thought that a licentious almost-clone of Hitler had taken over the staid old Republican Party? Imagine that.

I implore people not to go to a live Neil Young concert. He can't sing. He's painfully offkey. The magic of the recording studio makes his voice somewhat palatable.

Side note: But then again, I've never been one who's been all that attracted to the words of a song. Maybe my love of melodies is just a reaction to the typical music of my generation like the Beatles, for example, which made song after song after song which made no sense at all.
