Well, I guess that makes it OK. We fought that Civil War for 5%, what a waste.

Slavery has been around in the Americas for far longer than 400 years. And no, it’s not a racial thing. Native Americans enslaved native Americans. Irish were also basically slaves. And blacks owned black skates as well. NYT brought up “400th anniversary of Slavery” in order to continue to divide the nation by race and further drive the liberal base crazy, even though it is liberal policies keeping minorities down and dependent on government today.

Either way, I don't care nor can anyone make me care. My family largely came from Ireland to escape the famines and all my ancestors who were here at the time fought for the Union.

My family didn't own slaves and therefore I feel no guilt.

 

And the idea the US was built on slavery is bunk. The North was by far the most prosperous part of the US and had little to do with slavery.

 

Mothers parents left Italy pre WW1. Fathers family England same timeframe.

Hell, even just before the civil war less than 10% of whites owned slaves. And even if I did come from a slave owning family, which I didn’t, I wouldn’t give a ****. Guilt is not hereditary. I would have had absolutely nothing to do with it.

 

Yup, both the slaves and slave owners are dead, this should be a non-issue, but then the LW likes to foster a victim mentality. If you go back far enough in history I bet we all have slaves in our past, slavery was common in the ancient world.

Never claimed as much. I however notated that slavery was not a "white European" invention and it's been a human trait for thousands of years.

 

It should be up to the people in the relevant locales, not mobs of violent LW thugs.

A majority of black Americans don't want them removed, let alone whites.
