    I don't go to a mall and start injecting random passersby with LSD

    Laws won't stop anyone determined to go out and kill people but they can make it more difficult, and this is often done on an impulse, though some have obviously planned it for a long time

    gun control advocates pretend that excuses what they want to do-in reality, the real goal is harassing lawful gun ownership and pretending that might stop a couple crimes

    I think the gun control advocates are interested in only one thing--the silly idea that guns can be eliminated from society. They don't care about 'stopping crime'. Indeed, today's WOKE clowns facilitate and commit crimes in an effort to advance their nonsense.

    60 years ago, the Democrats held all three branches of government. Street crime was starting to increase as the early days of the drug war started heating up. Civil unrest increased due to crime and Vietnam and Nixon-and others-used this to attack the Democrats-especially for being "soft on crime" as leftwing judges were perceived as being anti law and order. The Democrats needed a response and the assassination of Kennedy-and later Dr King and Bobby K, led them to adopt GUN CONTROL as shield against Nixon's attacks. I don't think MOST of the democrats who pushed gun control really wanted to screw over legal gun owners-they were just collateral damage. But when the NRA and gun owners fought back-started voting in droves against people who voted for the GCA of 1968, the mindset of the Democrat party changed-and gun owners were now seen as the enemy and gun control as a weapon to punish pro gun voters. This culminated with the Hughes Amendment and the Clinton gun bans-two laws that had nothing to do with crime control but everything to do with blatant harassment of lawful gun ownership

    The report also clearly shows that Fast and Furious began under the Obama administration, dating its inception to October 2009. (Obama took office in January 2009.) This directly contradicts Obama’s claim.
    There is one mitigating factor, however: A program similar to Fast and Furious did go forward under the Bush administration in 2006 and 2007.

    The Bush program preceded and concluded before FnF; FnF was not a continuation of the Bush-era program.

    They are already doing it in California if you buy a bible, oil for a gasoline car, a gas lawnmower, or a MAGA hat!
    Of course they sell it. If you buy a chain saw your insurance is cancelled. A fire extinguisher, cancelled.
    The list goes as far as “woke” tyranny!

    That is correct. His criticism was of the nature of the program, and I was simply pointing out that Bush started it, even though it was a different name.
    That's why I posted the link I did, to illustrate that.

    So your insurance company is going to cancel your insurance because you purchase something that prevents or reduces the damage caused fires? I suppose they also 'punish' you for getting the roof fixed or having the car serviced?
