Ruth Bader Ginsburg's death has almost assured Democrats of a big win in November with the implications it presents.

Trump will appoint a Supreme Court justice that assuredly will share his viewpoints on Obamacare and probably even Roe versus Wade, stacking the deck on the deliberations concerning the TOTAL repeal Obamacare, scheduled to begin the week after the election.

In the midst of the greatest health crisis of our lifetimes, exacerbated by record numbers of hurricanes and forest fires, all of which present a gloomy outlook for the foreseeable future, we have a little over a month to make a decision on whether to continue on our present path or to begin to repair the damage that will continue to be inflicted until the end of Trump's and his puppet Republicans' terms of office.

There is very little we can do about this situation now, other than to write our congressmen, but the implications of a potential repeal which would not happen until after the election should serve as a wake-up call concerning who is looking after our best interests. Repeal of Obamacare would have a negative effect, directly or indirectly, on the vast majority of Americans, and nothing acceptable has been offered to replace it. Let's face it, the ACA is just another partisan scapegoat.

Does anyone on the left realize that if Roe v Wade was overturned it would mean it just goes back to the states? You know, state's rights aka the 10th Amendment. If Roe was overturned, you'll be able to get as many abortions as you like....probably at the neighborhood 7-11.

As far as obongocare, I don't have insurance. Getting rid of that crap would lower rates for everyone.

And Bader's death was a great day for America.

State rights do not supersede women's rights.

Yeah... because every time Congress legislates or a judge rules... it's all about you.

Repealing Obamacare would have zero effect on the pandemic.

and sadly the Obama, Biden and the Dems rushing through this illegal law has lead to this situation. Had Obama and Biden, Chuck and Nancy actually attempted to work across party lines, and maybe pass a legal law, then we wouldn't be in this situation

Why would they lose their insurance? Insurance companies cannot simply cancel a policy, never could.

I know that is the mantra, but is as true as 2 + 2 = Trump is a liar.

The ACA enabled about 20M people who did not previously have health insurance to obtain it. Repealing it will have the opposite effect.

    Then why this thread?

oh that's right because of California v Texas....where the Circuit just said it was illegal.....and it's headed to the SCOTUS to be heard.

And you consider the options under the PPACA inexpensive? Long before the pandemic was a gleam in it's creator's eye, people already couldn't afford the PPACA plans.

For a great many, COBRA exists. The rest, who may need care in regards to COVID-19, have the ER option. Insurance is not healthcare, by the by, it's a payment method and nothing more.

By using the word 'affordable', I take it to mean that other people pay for the majority of it.

It will affect millions of people who have health insurance only thanks to Obamacare. People who had pre-existing conditions. And it would have an effect on the people who got the virus. Now they'll have a pre-existing condition that will likely make their insurance fees skyrocket. Those are just some examples.

To be precise it allowed about 4 million who didn't have, wanted but could not afford insurance (and for some inexplicable reason were not eligible for Medicaid) to get insurance. It forced about 16 million who also didn't have insurance because they did not want it to buy it or pay a tax; about half of which did neither.

They will not lose their insurance. An insurance company cannot simply cancel a policy.... never could, with or without Obamacare.

You know I'm going to fact check every unsubstantiated claim you make so I don't know why you bother.

I readily know it is a fool's errand, but I like writing truth even though it will get nowhere.

If the ACA is so wonderful why are people dying still unable to afford it.

But it did get Mr. Obatard reelected ;)
