Opioid deaths are up everywhere. You can't view Oregon in isolation. Many people became addicted because of their doctors and the drug companies lying about the addictiveness of their products. Additionally, we have a vast separation of wealth that has put rents out of reach for many people who end up on the streets. And we have no place for the mentally ill to go. Beyond that Covid and the economy have ruined many lives.

Not taking sides, really, as I see that the war on drugs has failed, and drug use is going up. But if America decriminalized then drug use would probably go up, but not for long. I would rather all that money spent on fighting drugs go to rehab. This isn't 'defund the police' stuff. I want to see the drug cartels put out of business, and the corruption of drugs end too. Only, in decriminalization there is the danger we send the wrong message to kids.

Ah, going with the "self defense" argument for pregnancy.

    Tell me more about that.

    I don't have hypocritical positions.

You're welcome to challenge that if you'd like to try.

The more drug addicts take a dirt nap the better. These cities are feeling the pain and rightly so. Show the world how great it is to have bums, and low lifes pollute the streets with disease and prostitution. I object to any tax payer funded EMS dispatched to help someone who willingly became human garbage.

Legalize and deregulate entirely all molecules, substances, drugs and food of any kind for possession, use, cultivation, manufacture, sale, and stockpile in any quantity.

"Hardcore Marijuana Users" being the operative word .. but even this is anecdotal fallacious nonsense. I know loads of "hardcore users" who are not lazy nore worthless .. worth a whole lot more than you to be sure .. with far less social issues. .. which begs the question .. do you actually know any hardcore users other than the one's you serve soup to at the shelter .. how many worthless drunks in that crowd btw ?

Your OP is gibberish ... conflating Pot with nasty/lethal drugs such as Meth/Fentenyl .. a huge error .. one responsible for horrible atrocity .and horrible law ..

As such the decriminalization effort in Oregon is not a failure w/r to pot ... but may well be a failure w/r to the hard drugs .. but overall policy w/r to hard drugs in the US is a massive failure in general .. so what difference does it make.. and what's your grande uninformed solution mate . .. "Throw them all in Jail" that it ? Thats your big idea .. your grande plan.. do tell.

If you know hardcore pot smokers that are not lazy I’m absolutely positive your subjective view to laziness is is highly tolerable. You have no info on me to make a claim of my worth. But I’m glad I triggered a drug supporter.

I do have info on you ... the worthless commentary you post says a whole lot. .. including the fact that you just avoided addressing everything stated in my post .. to move the goalpost from "Lazy and Worthless" to just lazy .. yammering anecdotal gibberish .. based on limited experience and perspective. I know plenty of pot smokers who are not "worthless" able to make a coherent argument far better than you have exhibited ... right after a big bong hit.

and who cares if someone is lazy .. you want to make law on the basis of lazyness in some tyrannical collectivist bliss .. whats the deal.

The only one spewing worthless commentary is you’re ridiculous claim that pot smokers are worth more than those who do not smoke dope.

    https://www.nsc.org/membership/training-tools/best-practices/marijuana-at-work

Furthermore, from the quotes linked article

maybe you can defend your position that hard core pot smokers aren’t what I claim they are. But I doubt that…. Based on your “commentary” of course.

    lay off the pot

That’s because they’re literally morons. There are multiple studies that suggest they have increased accidents, lower intellectual levels, reduced productivity and lower life standards than non pot users. There is good reason companies should not hire them. And in my view there is good reason for the federal government to cut funding to states who legalized a federally illegal drug.

I didn't say that .. speaking of worthless commentary .. making stuff up and attributing that made up nonsense to others. I said that you are more worthless than some pot smokers -- unable to come up with a coherent thought .. calling others worthless who are far more valuble than you.

Taxpayers shouldn't be on the hook for one red cent for users. No food stamps, no nothing. I'm fine with letting Darwin handle it as long as these worthless SOBs aren't taking taxpayer money.

Mandatory minimum 20 years prison for anyone giving any quantity of drugs or alcohol to anyone under 18.

Then fully legalize all drugs and alcohol for use, possession, cultivation, manufacture, sale, stockpile, import or export.

The drug cartels would have a stroke and be completely out of business within weeks.

The bold is not true and Colorado is a prime example on why cartels will still be around

Colorado didn't do what I suggested. They legalised possession and sale under a certain amount, with plenty of regulatory red tape and taxes. Similar to alcohol and tobacco, which still see plenty of illicit sales.

Potting mix has no such illicit sales because it is completely unregulated and untaxed, and you are free to use, possess, cultivate, manufacture, import, export and stockpile in any quantity without license or permit.

    Do that, but with everything.
