    Newt Gingrich
    Michelle Bachman
    Jon Huntsman
    Rick Santorum
    Herman Cain
    Rick Perry
    Ron Paul

They all performed beautifully. I still am voting for Herman Cain, but I love them all and wish they could all be president. Mostly, they did a terrific job of exposing Mitt Romney for the leftist fraud that he is and laid out clearly what a disaster it would be to send Romney against Obama in 2012.

Newt, as he has before, thundered away at the media's attempt to divide the Republican party against itself.

Michelle reminded us that the repeal of Obama care is urgent and the first priority of a Republican administration

Ron held to his unique and compelling views with dignity nothing less than...presidential

Jon is very personable and charming, a credit to the conservative movement

Herman reaffirmed yet again why he's got my vote.

Rick Santorum is a terrific champion of conservative ideals. He presents them well.

Rick Perry leaves me confident that under his administration unemployment would plummet and the economy would sail.

And Mitt Romney? He reminded me that even horses asses can be dressed up in a nice suit and be invited to prestigious debates. I hope he does the right thing and withdraws, or crawls under a rock, or dies, or something.

They did terrific and contrary to popular belief, the Republican field is STRONG.

Romknee is a little harder to understand for the simple conservatives. He often speaks of more than one concept at a time and talks in more than 5 words per sentance. Also, he has the same old solutions that Regan had, and that did not work.

I want to cover a issue that bothered me all night first. MSNBC made a clear attempt tonight to narrow this race down to Romney and Perry. It figures that a liberal channel would do their best to affect the news rather than just report it.

Okay in a general election Perry, Paul and Cain would lose. Why? They clearly delineated they would get rid of or privatize Social Security. That's a huge billy club for Obama to beat them senseless with.

I've been pulling for Cain up until tonight I was hoping he would stick around. However 9,9,9, sounds like something you order in the drive thru. Also his numbers are not correct. We will see, but seems like he needs to hire better policy people. Lets do what Chile does really? "yipes" That just doesn't sound good.

Romney and Perry look too much alike. The libs are aching for this race to come down to Perry and Obama especially now. Perry's Ponzi comment although basically true is too strong and scary to a huge voting base. Remember Baby Boomers won't take one for the team like the Great Generation did and would.

I thought Bachman did well on the energy and healthcare. She's tough and smart and the libs want her out of the way. She did hurt herself by not diffusing the drilling in the everglades comment. Not 1 Floridian would vote for someone who would drill in the everglades. Lets hope that just goes away.

Newt always does well but, he hasn't figured out how to solve the character issue. He is, to me, by far the smartest guy in the field. He has the experience, quick on his feet, he draws his points very well, and he has a track record of getting his agenda through tricky waters. Maybe he could do a Posti-Vac commercial or something. :-D "Look he is harmless and scandal proof now" Just don't let him have a Posti Vac or Viagra and were safe. All joking aside he stayed out of trouble tonight and did well. If I had to anoint a President tomorrow it would be him.

Santorum is just not being taken seriously I don't get that except he seems very very far right.

Huntsman did well tonight, but I don't know, he seems too willing to compromise and very vanilla. Kinda like lukewarm puke in your mouth. It's the Republican deal now not the general. He seemed to shy away when he was ask about other candidates and their opinions on science. If he chicken crapped out about that what is he gonna do when he faces the libs. They will make mince meat out of him.

Paul besides seeming unrealistic what is he gonna do when someone ask him... Ahh states rights huh? Well what about civil rights? Alabama did wonders with human rights along with Mississippi. He equated armored trucks carrying money to transporting souls on a plane. The people on the other side of this religious war we are in don't care about blowing up paper. Yes, I said religious war that's what we are in whether its moral, forced on us, wrong or not.

Romney ahh Romney he is just somewhere between Lurch from the Munsters and Creepy. He will say anything to win. He would trade in-laws if he thought it would get him in the Whitehouse. He's a guy with a lot of money and no one has the guts to tell him you are not interesting nor do you come off as a leader. You wouldn't want him calling the artillery in without a trainer overseeing him. I agree he works as the Brylcreem Guy though.

Alas somehow we have to get a winner this field is not hopeless, but they are not tiger blooded winners. umm... "not on the Charlie Sheen way"

Is it time for Sarah well I wouldn't be unhappy.

    I. like most other Republicans, feel the country is at stake on 2012.

Hit me up and tell me how smart and interesting my post is. :puke:

I noticed this too. They got the lions share of the questions and rebuttals.

That depends on how well they sell it. Americans know that system is broke and that the best thing to do is phase it out in a way that doesn't hurt current recipients. If the message is sent clearly, their plan will be an asset, not a liability.

I don't think he's advocating everything Chile does, but they had the guts to address a broken system. Do we?

10 years ago this would have all been true. Today it's axiomatic that Social Security is a Ponzi scheme.

When we're talking about pending drilling permits, we're talking about the ones in which the environmental impact study has already been completed. Floridians need jobs and when it really comes down to it and the prospect of thousands of jobs becomes real, Floridians will jump all over it.

I like Newt. But I think of him as someone who just recently recovered from mental illness. Most conservatives will not be able to flush that image out of their heads of him and Nancy Pelosi in a TV ad promoting global warming and cap and trade as a solution. He knows now that's a mistake, but we need a president who doesn't run by hindsight.

He doesn't stick out. He expounds on his record and he does have a very good record, but he isn't going to get noticed like Perry until he takes some radical stands.

That's my impression as well. He is very nice and has a great personality, but it's going to take more than that.

I like Ron Paul a lot. He's the only one with the courage to take on the neocon establishment in the Republican party. Nearly every candidate except Paul will keep us at war for the next 20 years, always finding the next threat we need to pre-empt. Iran is next. They need to be bombed. Ron Paul's following indicates that many Americans are getting sick of it.

Creepy is exactly right. He's like a space alien that put on a human costume and is trying to imitate human behavior, and failing bad. His conservatism is conservatism by rote or, as I put it, finding the conservative path by running into the guard rails. Your assessment is dead on.

Your post IS smart and interesting and you put a lot of effort into it. Thanks.

Your analysis couldn't be more wrong if you had taken the time to see just how empty your assessments really are. First of all, Romney not only won that debate hands down, but he steadily proved he's the only Republican able to intelligently outline his plan to get America working again. He made mincemeat out of Perry--above what Perry had done to himself by inserting foot squarely into mouth

You'll start to see Perry's ratings slip once we get a couple of more debates to sink his ass. Romney laid out his plans for job creation in his speech a couple days ago, and he also produced his 150 page-59 steps to create those jobs. Just looking at the two on stage shows quite a constrast with Romney looking the more presidential by far. The intelligence factor between the two coudn't be more favorable for Mitt as well. Perry looked like backwoods redneck while Romney looked like a seasoned executive businessman. The public will soon see the glaring differences.

I really thought Perry would have the nod hands down, but Fox and people like Rove have been hitting him hard, and leaning towards Romney, even though statistically Perry seems to be doing the best. When it comes time for an official nod, it looks like the GOP will take Romney over everybody else (Perry possibly the VP front runner). Probably the smartest move for the middle of the roader’s, and the extremist right will vote for whatever the GOP lays on the plate, they voted for McCain, lord knows why other than the GOP said too.

Romney should be a well versed job creator, he certainly knows how to eliminate jobs, since that was what he was known best for when he was in the private sector. Buying up companies, eliminating employees so as to show a profit for future projected annual incomes (minus the worker bees of course), and dumping them off on the first fool who came a long. Then when the company had to reboot their employees, it was obviously the new management that didn't understand or have the knowledge (like him) to show a expanded profit (on paper anyway). Just another professional politician, who sells out to the highest bidder. How ironic that he is using that term to describe everybody else in the running.

We really need to get Obummer out of office, but God help us if the neo-con artists take the reins again.

So you want Romney? Cap and trade, Romneycare Romney? Romney didn't look presidential, he looked like a deer in the headlights. He looked plastic as usual as if he were trying to figure out how best to sound like a conservative. I don't see how any conservative could support Romney except if they're Mormon and they want to get their magic underwear into the White House. He's not a conservative. He's a Bush/McCain neocon.

You should update your telly to take the snow out by subscribing to HD TV. I don't care so much about Romney's social agenda (if he has one); I'm more interested in his business acumen, which is tops among the contenders.

I think Herman Cain has him trumped in that regard. And I have an HDTV with DirecTv. That means I have the best HD with the most channels available to man.

    I agree, aintmichaeldefendthem.

I thought Herman Cain did an excellent job with his answers to the questions. It is refreshing to see a black man who is not a sycophant for Barack Obama and the Democratic Party.

Rick Perry and Romney are both seasoned politicians and talk like ones also...they both mentioned issues and not many solutions. Rick Santorum is *okay*

Huntsman, Paul, Cain, and Gingrich are the most genuine candidates. Those are the four that truly speak from their hearts and say it how it really is. Those are the four that I feel may have the balls to step up to the problem.

Out of those four, Paul is the most geniune, but I think Gingrich and Cain are the only two best candidates. Cain and Gingrich are both extremely smart, aren't politically correct (a good thing), both provide concrete strategies to solving problems, very respectful and are at the same time extremely realistic about the issues/solutions and lastly, they both have ball sack between their legs that should allow them to step up and make decisions/lead...even if they difficult

I would mainly like Paul, but I strongly disagree w/ his foreign policy.

And lastly...out of everybody, I think Cain is the best, he is a business man, knows all perspectives of the economy, and the most straight to the point. Gingrich is a runner up.

My vote goes to Cain too. But never Gingrich. Hell no! Cap and trade, Nanci Pelosi, Global Warming Newt Gingrich? He spent all his political capital on that stupid ad. Can't trust him.

Yeah cain is the best, but with all due respect

    Beggers can't be choosers!

Any of the candidates would be better than our current president by a huge margin, we are just getting picky.

    Romney by all accounts won..
    How ?..No turn overs..

Give Paul more press and he'll be under 8 % in a month.
    Truly a dangerous old fart.
even those with bright ideas can be dangerous old farts.

You trailer trash want less polish ?
go look at your rusted out Chevy trucks..

Polish is caused by what ?
    exposure and taking the heat..
Paul just looks and sounds befuddled.

Give his SON 2 more cycles.
    that Paul will do.

No conservative can support Mitt Romney. He believes in abortion (until he changed his mind) global warming, cap and trade, manditory health care....he's not conservative in any sense of the word.

So, Mrbillyboy, why not just vote for Maobama? Might as well.

In terms of social issues, im not conservative at all...im only conservative on economic and political issues.

I support abortion...and yes I do support federally funded abortions, because aborting a baby is cheaper then taking care of it once its alive. If you don't support federally funded abortions, that would require more spending.

I do not agree with mandatory healthcare though.

I tend to be a lot more liberal on social issues and very right wing on economic/political issues, because left wing politics and economics simply don't work.

Your view on abortion seems limited. Babies cost more once their born? The problem is that most people work and add to an economy instead of subtracting from it. Nations that suffer from low birth rate will, within a few short decades, succumb to a waning GDP. Fewer contributors, less performance. China is on the decline, contrary to popular belief. India is the rising star and will overtake China in population and economic clout. The first is a mathematical certainty, the second is corollary to the first.

The point about Romney is that he keeps having to find himself whereas other conservatives are native conservatives and these issues are clear to them.

His 59 point plan sucks ass. I felt that Perry sticking to his guns and the actual truth on SS made him slightly less worthless than Romney. Romney looked like an establishment Republican which is exactly what we do not need.

Pretty funny coming from someone who even though being our President for 8yrs can't even spell President Reagan's name correctly. Thanks for trying to point out the Conservative's weak spot. We do appreciate your strong input.

I disagree.. Cain saved Godfather's Pizza.. I could have done that.

Newt has 10 good ideas every ten minutes .. he's smart, but he's flighty and abrasive and has too much tacky personal baggage.

Paul is no doubt a good man , but he's an ideologue who thinks one size fits all.. and I agree he couldn't handle foreign policy..

I like Huntsman.. I think he smart, cool, rational and won't pander to the junk of the Christian Right. He's a Mormon. but he went to the University of Utah NOT Brigham Young ... and he married a Christian.

The GOP will put together another lame ticket .. and they will lose.. In 2016, they will run Huntsman... and win.

What's it going to take for people to realize that? Do we need to shave his head and put a lump in the side of his face before people realize a voting for him is like voting for McCain all over again?

Insanity. Have you read Romney's 160 page, 59 point plan for America? It is the EXACT OPPOSITE of "leftist". Each and every one of the 59 points is 180 degrees away from liberal. I AM a leftist. Trust me. Romney is not on my side.

It is posts like this that make me realize how ignorant Americans are.
