Republicans should have fixed the Impeachment process when they had the chance.

The Executive Branch has nothing to do with amending the constitution. The constitution is not flawed when it comes to impeachment. The current process is however deeply flawed because it ignores the constitution and House rules.

The Republican leadership assiduously avoided and squashed any talk of impeachment of Obama.

Unfortunately way too much truth in that.

The Ukraine call has nothing to do with bribery. None-the-less the current process does null out all of the framers definition of impeachable offenses.

Correct. Quid pro quo is non synonymous with bribery, which is why Dems should stop using the Latin phrase and start calling a spade a spade. Trump wanted personal favors in return for releasing aid that he ultimately had no legal right to withhold and/or a public meeting in his capacity as a public official. He was soliciting a bribe. Dems need to stop being so PC about it.

I suggest you learn what bribery is and what legal authority the president has with foreign assistance. I have no idea what your "public meeting" thing is supposed to mean or insinuate.

they were the last ones to change the rules in fact to allow the private depositions of witnesses

what Trump did was wrong, I think most know that, Trump brought this on himself

an invitation to the white house was conditional on Ukraine announcing they were doing an investigation

    https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/tr...estigate-condition-white-house-visit-n1062306

"WASHINGTON — Text messages given to Congress show U.S. ambassadors working to persuade Ukraine to publicly commit to investigating President Donald Trump’s political opponents and explicitly linking the inquiry to whether Ukraine’s president would be granted an official White House visit."

They did no such thing per Boehner. That report was just the fake news of the day.

And what does this have to do with the price of tea in China, or bribery, or the president's authority over foreign assistance?

I am still struggling to follow. What is impeachable: a president temporarily holding up foreign aid, or not inviting someone to the white house?????

The House sets the rules. The guidelines are overly general and lack concision.

I'm getting my information from Speaker Boehner, and, in case you are wondering, he is one person who knows for certain what he did with the rules for impeachment in 2015.

I plan to harangue my republican congressmen to use the same process on all Democrats from now on. We will do to them what they do to us. We will BORK them in other words.

Will that tingling thrill rise up Democrats legs when this goes to the Senate?

We had far better evidence when it came to Obama yet we did not impeach.

We have a super sound case against Joe Biden should he win.

OP - "Your political party should have changed the laws of governance to help you before you lost and we were able to change laws in order to help us"

Fantastic precedent you want to set there!

well because the fiasco of their Clinton impeachment served what they thought was their purpose. And amending the Constitution isn’t as easy as you apparently think it is.

In other words, Bidens bribery is safe and he needs not fear prosecution? Be interesting to see what Durham comes up with.

As I understand this, the Democratic House changed the Republican rules so this can happen as they are doing things. Seems just Democrats support it.
