You are the one who wants the tax rate to be way up for people with more money than you. Sweden fits that bill perfectly. Don't count on the blonds though. True Sweden are being replaced by immigrants that are anything but blond.

A wealth tax would force people to sell their businesses. Then, who would buy the business? The owner would be forced to sell at a distressed price.

It is like that here just like it is everywhere else. The rich are paying more than me who was slightly above the avg at 80K. I just think they should pay an even higher percentage.

I served in Nam, where did you serve to tell me that the country I fought for should be in your image of the country than my image of what it should be. Why don't you go to a place like russia where the rich do whatever they want.

I am not saying there should be a tax on wealth. Just justifying a higher tax bracket on income and treating investment income like any other income. I am in favor of no inheritance taxes at all. You earned it, you paid taxes on the earnings, you should give it to whom you choose without penalty to the recipient.

I favor a flat tax. Tax everyone at the same rate. Jusr don't distinguish between the sources of income. Tax capital gains at the same rate as wages. Set a threshold. The first whatever amount, per person, is untaxed. Beyond that, everyone is in the same boat.

And that is exactly what is happening.. Most minimum wage jobs are in the service sector. So fast food and service pays more for labor and they in turn raise prices and no one really wins..

That would be the influx of migrants willing to live in shared dwelling and pooling money.. You willing to share your home with 2-3 other families and split expenses, two shltters, meals and 13 screaming children and Modelo breath drunks every evening for the rest of your life :)

I have also been saying the same, although I also want to eliminate SS and have a government option medicare type provided. instead os SS I want a retirement income of 1.5 the fed poverty level.

Everyone gets the same basic insurance, private insurance as a supplement if they so choose like medicare and everyone gets the same retirement income. Everyone pays 33% tax after a deduction for the fed poverty level for family size. We have 20 trill in income that raises almost 8 trill in revenue (with corporate and excise type taxes. Our present budget is about 5.4 trill of which we only raise 4.5 trill now We spend 3.5 trill now in just healthcare of which the government now pays half. So this pays for healthcare for all and no budget deficit.

Maybe English isn't your first language. Can you rewrite this? I'm getting something about poor immigrants sharing housing from your post, but I don't see the relevance.

Restaurants in the areas frequented by tourists will do just fine. Tourists expect to go broke in NYC. They keep some subway tokens and an airplane ticket tucked inside their shoes.

Garbage truck is good pay and benefits here. Heated competition to get the job. Non-union.

Oh you get it, you're just having difficulty with the reason why people are replaced by folks that work for peanuts ;)

Just basic labour economics. Sounds like you don't know your supply and demand.

Which bit of supply and demand do you struggle with?

It was a simple question. Here's another one: Assuming the firm is a profit maximiser, what determines labour demand?

I'll take that to mean you couldn't answer. So we can assume that you don't understand labour demand. Let's try labour supply. Consider the following scenario. A firm decides to reduce its wages. Rival firms do not. It finds it only loses a small % of its workplace. Has it increased its economic rents?
