I am reminded of Mick's advice to Rocky in Rocky III. " the worst thing happened to you that can happen to any fighter, you got civilized " Ok Rocky was just a fictional character in a series of fictional films some of which were great entertainment and others were lame. But that little bit of advice from his trainer always had a ring of truth in it. Many real fighters such as Tyson or Ali seem to end up the same way. They get famous and become celebrities they show up on talk shows or reality shows they do this or do that to make an extra buck or to get a photo op and they lose their edge. They stop putting massive dedication and time and sacrifice into busting their ass to win the next one. Roussey was a great fighter and maybe still is but she has been showing up in many venues talking about and discussing many things. Which is fine but I suspect she got too comfortable and lost her hunger to win as she started enjoying her fame. I might be wrong but it seems like a common fate for many fighters.
This happens to many fighters after to many wins they become cocky think they cant be beat they become lazy and complacent that is why I don't have any respect for the trash talking conceded athletes
Rousey has never been the greatest striker, she wins most of her fights on the ground. When a superior striker can keep a fight standing they are going to win. Holms is bigger and appeared to be stronger. Rousey may have gone Hollywood or she may have gotten beat by a superior striker who knew how to keep the fight standing. I think it's the later.
I think she was way over aggressive and that got the better of her. She should have laid back and made Holly come to her. Normally even just a good wrestler will beat a boxer unless they get in a clean shot first. Holly did seem far stronger however
Loved watching it , she was becoming a total b*tch lately . Her actions at the weigh in was nasty as was her treatment of Tate .
I remember watching an interview of Holmes a few months back about the upcoming fight, she was so humble. Good to see her win.

She should have just stood there and made Holmes come to her after the first minute. She was outclassed on her feet. Do what you do best girl. Take her down and finish her. Everyone goes down eventually. Who thought Silva would get KTFO?
Ronda was GASSED.... her conditioning sucks. As a champ, you have to prepare for 5 rounds at 5 minutes each.... even if your matches always end in the first round, like Ronda's had previously. I'm hearing a lot of the "Holly just ran around like Mayweather" excuses from the Rousey fans.... too bad... Holms had a great fight strategy and executed it to perfection. Rousey has gotten away from her strengths, and that's on the mat and wanted to prove to naysayers, that she had knockout power. I still have yet to understand why fighters try to change their fighting styles for fan approval.... it makes them take risks they shouldn't and that's when they get caught. - - - Updated - - - Holms, or rousey? Holly did EXACTLY what she should've done and it worked perfectly. What idiots said she ran? They don't have a clue. Rousey did EXACTLY what she should NOT have done...chase the superior striker and try to trade blows. STUPID!!!! Her coaches failed her big time and it cost her the belt. The rematch will go like this. Rhonda will stand there, catch a leg, take her down and try to break her arm like she should have the first time. Is fights like these when you get the sneaking suspicion its all a set-up to for a dramatic come back rematch and a big PAY DAY. And it'll be over in 30 seconds.
She thought she'd get a free pass since she supported socialist barry sanders. The equality gods would grant her a victory. Yay!
Ronda has always had pretty poor boxing skills and she has yet to learn to move her head at all. She eats punches as if she's indestructible, which cost her dearly. Had she gotten the fight to the ground, it probably would have turned out differently, but trying to stand and fight someone who was also a champion boxer didn't go well. She should have forced Holly to bring the fight to her, but that's not Ronda's style. She got too aggressive and wanted it over too quickly, ate far too many punches to the mount and nose, and was just not patient enough to figure out how to get someone big and strong to the ground. She obviously needs to work on takedown timing as well, but against lesser adversaries her methods worked so well she seemed unstoppable.
I have to agree.... I can't stand Rousey at this point... but that's EXACTLY what she needs to do to beat Holms..... make your opponent fight YOUR match. Rousey had the advantage being the title holder... she should have made Holms come to her style, not entertain her standup style. Now.... Holms is the champ, so now she can wait for Rousey to come to her.
