Just what are you basing this on? Let me guess. It's the Jon Huntsman ad. That ad was tasteless and here's what the RP campaign had to say about it.

"Dr. Paul is a proud father and grandfather and believes people's families should be out of bounds in politics."

Though that ad was initially attributed to some anonymous RP supporter, it has been discovered that the Huntsman campaign had that ad posted on their website after it had received only 1 view. Also, the account for the ad poster was newly created and has only that ad posted.

I can think on no context in which your comparison would be appropriate nor beyond the pale.

First the family is attacked for it's very private grief and now compared to one of the most despicable men in the history of world who carried out horrible atrocities just goes beyond anything you could possible say to try and mitigate it. That the thought even came to you speaks volumes, that you would post it even more.

 

Well, they could not have been that worried about keeping their grief private since the wife wrote about it in a book.

As I have typed before, I don't think this issue should have anything to do with the election.

I have no idea why you would start out saying a moderator would delete this thread due to the title? It's freedom of speech but I do not consider it "hate speech".

Getting on topic, while I do agree that it's a little strange to do this, it is not uncommon. It may not be something every Christian does but take for instance what I saw in Japan.

When my grandmother died, they had her laying on the floor for 4 days while my mom and her sisters touched her, combed her hair, talked about the good things concerning her and even held her in their arms. Would you call that crazy or say they were mentally deranged?

I don't see the Santorum family as being mentally deranged. They obviously talked about doing it, decided it was a way for the other siblings to understand death, and it was a way to deal with the grief. People deal with it in different ways.

What if Rick or his wife got so depressed that they commited suicide? It happens. Life is stressful enough without loosing a child due to premature death. They wanted this child and I imagine they understand there is a reason for everything that happens in life. The way they dealt with it is different, yes, but mentally deranged? No.
