Yeah.....U.S. Special Forces and Special teams on the ground providing GPS and Lasing Targets so that we can drop small diameter bombs as well as use Hellfires to properly destroy the ISIS without killing civys!!

So how do you 'lase target' a bunch of jihadists sheltering in the basement of what's left of one of the buildings? And if you could or did, how would you know if they were jihadists or not? And an identical question: if your 'Special teams' make an incursion into a jihadist hideout, how would you know who are jihadists, and who are civilians? (deju vu alert!)

So you watch and observe while the Russians get on with the job? Well we already know that - you've been doing it for 3 years.

But Assad wants them to hit the multiplicity of jihadist groups, and that's exactly what they've been doing. So if the problem is civilian casualties, how would you advise the Russians how they can kill the jihadists but at the same time avoid the civilians who are being used as human shields? I'm sure they'd like to know??

The Russian's do not have the proper weapons systems to limit civy deaths.

    We do.

In that case can we presume that your outrage about the civilian casualties is because when you offered the Russians weaponry they don't possess which would mitigate the casualties, they refused the offer? That's assuming you did make it, but if not, why didn't you?

It depends how the victory conditions are defined.
Assad is still in his palace with his dishy wife eating three square meals a day and is under the protection of his friend Vlad, so in that sense he's winning and can just happily sit it out for years to come while the rival factions outside are squabbling with each other..:)

The Saudis have been at war with ISIS for five years.. They have rounded up hundreds so them and put them in prison.

ISIS has carried out 30 suicide bombings in the kingdom in just the past two years. Nobody who knows KSA would make the stupid claim that the SAG is supporting ISIS.

It's funny thing. Americans, Saudis, Brits, French, NATO and so on - everyone in the whole world have been at war wit ISIS for years.

But somehow ISIS grew and grew, became more and more powerful - until bad Russians (which according to State Department propaganda do not kill ISIS) have entered the game.

Al Baghdadi is losing his mind. He's stopped bathing, lives underground and sleeps with a suicide vest.. There is NO money to continue their jihad.

Everyone knows Saudi Arabia is the world's terrorist bank. Officially they fight against ISIS. Unofficially this country is the main source of terrorism. They can easily abandon one project - Al Baghdadi this case - and turn to another one, in another area or country. So happens for decades.

Everyone except the USA apparently? They never have been able to grasp the concept even since way back when FDR was POTUS in the days of the Great Bitter Lake talks. They seem to have a mental block on the subject,

I don't think so. Many Americans wonder why most of 9/11 terrorists were Saudis, for example.
Besides, if they didin't think about it, they wouldn't vote for Trump who rises such questions.

Its pretty simple really.. The 9-11 planners wanted the attack to have a Saudi face.

Indeed, it is simple. But how do you know that? Any connections among 9-11 planners?

6 of the hijackers have never been identified because they were issued visas on false identity papers.. Its always been easier for Saudis to get US visas because they have been sent to the US to study since the early 1950s. It much, much more difficult to get a US visa from other ME countries.

In 1994 KSA revoked Osama Bin Laden's citizenship and declared AQ a terrorist outfit.

Putin wants to sort out the Syria's issue before Trump comes

Le Figaro article reveals details of Russian-Syrian military cooperation.

Moscow holds 4500 militaries in Syria, but it also introduces its liasons in Syrian army and intelligence. And Syrian regime has no choice but to reconcile with Russian domination - even when Moscow's and Damascus' goals do not match.

Russians put their trustworthy people into Syria's authority bodies, but it's not easy, says some anonymous foreign expert in Damascus.

Russians managed to change some people in Syrian intelligence and army, but not all of them, expert says. For example, Assad had to remove the head of Republican Guard this spring. Anyway, Syria's intelligence the powerful head of National Security Council Ali Mamlyuk is not a Moscow's man, but Mohammad dib Zaitun is, the director of General Security Department. Russians don't trust Mamlyuk, the Assad's man, very experienced professional, expert says.

Apart from "renovation" of Syria's intelligence Moscow launched reform of Syrian army, which was in a very bad shape just a year ago. Russians managed to improve the situation, last Tuesday the creation of 5th army division was declared, there would be about 10 thousand volunteers which "will be paid in dollars".

Russians would prefer to deal with official army units only, but it's not possible yet, a source in Syrian leadership says. That's why Moscow supports irregular groups. For instance, Palestinian-Syrian Brigade Al-Quds is funded with Russian money, earlier it was paid from Iran.

Russian domination in Syria causes irritation of Iranians, other Assad's allies, but Syrian regime has to decline more to Moscow. "Even if Russians are too hard to us sometimes, they are more professional than Iranians, and they don't meddle into religious issues," a man from Assad's environment says.

Assad's regime is concerned that Moscow may abandon him. Besides, Syrians want to fight back the whole territory of the country. But Russians are ready to assume control only over so-called "Useful Syria", this is our main difference of opinions, says one of Assad's confidents.

Useful Syria - it's the main cities and their suburbs, and also oil and gas pipe-lines. Immediate goal for Kremlin is to establish control over them and push out the remnants of rebels to rural areas and to deserts.
