I know Saudis from different classes as well as foreign workers. Where did you live in Arabia? Most people in Saudi Arabia don't mistreat domestics.

    It's about bloody time.

The Saudi Royal Family - as a group - are absolutely pathetic.

Margot, if you know any country passably well you can quickly attack common preconceptions, and popular notions about the UK or my own country as part of it just make us giggle. On the other hand, there are rather a lot Saudi royals, I think. What do they live on? Why is the country so remarkably reactionary if the form of Islam is not special, and why does the country stand out in even the Middle East for its unequal treatment of women? I've never been there, and far be it from from me to set up as an expert, but I do know what sort of muftis they tend to finance over here, and I don't think well of them.

KSA began cutting stipends for the royals over 25 years ago.

    Read "the Wahhabi Myth".....

Muftis are not Saudi.. They are Iranian or Shia.. Shia clerics are infallible (divine) Sunni Imams are not.

It's unfortunate, but the UN is run by those with the deep pockets. Mammon reigns!

You're being foolish Margot. You know anything I write can be backed by facts, unless I specifically state it is my opinion.

Stray dogs killed a nine-year-old Saudi boy as he was walking towards his relatives’ house in the Gulf Kingdom, a newspaper reported on Thursday.

Family members searching for the boy found his blood-covered body in an isolated area in the Central Al Qassim province at night, Sada said.

It quoted police as saying the dogs attacked the boy just before he reached his relatives’ house and that parts of his body were ripped off.

If Saudi Arabia was to became a democracy, it wouldn't be exactly what Washington wants, so like the other leaders of democratic nations that are not towing the Washington line, we will demonize them and make them an enemy..

    Syria is a democracy..
    Iran is a democracy..
    Russia is a democracy..
and I believe Venezuela is a democracy as well.

Margot is a propagandist, promoting everything Islam, defending ongoing atrocities in the Middle East and any Muslim run countries while maligning the United States and every other democracy.

And of course Margot is not alone in this propaganda work. American society is dividing and turning against itself just as are most of the democracies, though that is certainly going under-reported in the US media. Allied with the useful idiots on the left they are criticizing every aspect of American life and using not very intelligent people, such as those in BLM, to carry out their propaganda . Police one month, statues the next, football games the next, race always, and so it goes. Every aspect of American life is being turned upside-down and it's having a tremendous effect

The millions of Margots are doing great work on Islam's behalf and we can see what's happening to Spain as just one example.

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/11046/spain-islamic-conquest

From the article:"Some Islamists do it with bombs and car-ramming attacks. Others, more surreptitiously, do it with money and dawa, Islamic propaganda. The second way may be even more effective than the first".

They don't need a nuclear attack to win a war if we examine and understand what the end game of any war is. Some occasional violence to maintain tensions, complaints of "Islamophobia" any time criticisms of the religion are raised, and a constant 24/7 barrage of propaganda on how evil the host country (in this case the USA) is, making Islam seem like a positive alternative to that evil. Communists were very successful at using the same methods and the Islamists were certainly paying attention. They're doing an excellent job, Keith Ellison is another example, and we have to keep in mind what their job and who they are really working for.

Facts are never important to propagandists. They try to appeal to the emotions, encourage doubts, and will deny, deny, deny.

Of course you are correct. http://english.alarabiya.net/en/variety/2014/11/30/Saudis-try-to-tame-Riyadh-s-wild-dogs.html

Such wacky claims are the mark of insecure losers. I do know a good bit about the ME and a lot about KSA. But, many Americans have lived and worked in Lebanon, KSA, Libya, the Emirates, Iran and Kuwait or Bahrain or Qatar. You simply don't know anything.

What are you knowledgeable about? Do you know anything about protectionist laws of the last century or character?

Deny, deny, deny and then personal attacks. Do you really think this game of yours, and others with similar crude methods, hasn't been exposed?

Not everyone defending Saudi Arabia is anti-American or having some kind of soft spot for fanatical Islamic extremism. I'm a true Westerner. I just don't expect or arrogantly assume that the rest of the world wants to live like I do.

There is no water in the desert where Jeannette claimed there were wild dogs.. and you never see them in the Eastern province.. Like feral cats they have been abandoned by ex-pat owners. Its a fairly recent problem.. since 2000.

Some people do have an overwhelming impulse to dictate how others live. Its a bully quality and yes, it is arrogant.

Perhaps not, but wars have begun by other countries who want you to live the way they do. You're response is typical of the average America/Australian/ Canadian etc. with the live and let live non-arrogant attitude. That's fine, but it must also be recognized that this attitude is easily recognized by others and may be worked to their advantage. It is they who may have the arrogant attitude that the rest of the world lives like they do, an idea you may not have considered closely. It is not the strength you may feel it is.

Have you genuinely not noticed events taking place which are tearing the country apart?

So your response that "You are claiming there are stray dogs in the Arabian desert. LOLOLOL" was inaccurate?

Have you noticed that tendency towards women in Saudi Arabia, and elsewhere -everywhere- in the Muslim world?

If other countries want to try to change the way we live here in the West, I indeed support meeting their goals with ruthless aggression. That's why I'm advocating a rather aggressive policy with North Korea.

I do notice the events tearing this country apart, but how exactly do they relate to this conversation?
