The article says a lot MORE than that. You cherry-picked the part that YOU liked.
The part that harmonizes with YOUR social-political preferences, whims, biases,
    and prejudices.
    So?
So your comments are NOT to be taken seriously.
    And I never have.
    And I never will.

    Seat belts.

But, your question was just plain silly. We have so many regulations that cause fewer deaths that it's pretty much unbelievable.

Just about every part on a car has safety regulations that save lives. Plus, road, rail and airway design and practice, licensing, etc. Our air travel is staggeringly safe, because of government regulation.

Food is regulated for safety, thus you havn't had e. Coli recently. And, the ag industry WANTS these regulations, because they can't afford having their products shunned because of some bad actor or accident.

Medicine is promoted by fundamental research funded by our government, and then the product of medical engineers goes through serious testing to ensure our safety.

Good lord Eluethera. You are missing a major function of our government.

Yes - if you have COVID, that is what you should do.

But, the catch is that in general you will not know if you have COVID early enough to take action to stop spreading it.

This has been explained over and over and over again - for MANY months now.

The flat-earthers have also explained over and over their reasons for believing in a flat earth - for many months now.
So have the Truthers in support of their insights.
So have the UFO spotters in support of their insights and they are totally convinced -- just as you are.
So have the Big Foot spotters.

Wouldn't it be terrible if you did something kind and harmless to protect your neighbor that you didn't need to do?

No it would not be terrible. It would be a good thing and I do exactly that
and I do it regularly and consistently too and at least once a day -- in that
I have an index card on my desk that says "Do At Least One Thing Every
Day To Make The World A Better Place." And so I do actually do that.

But doing good has got nothing to do with liberal Fear-mongering and
liberal Scare-mongering and all the other cowardly blather that comes
out of the mouths of the Health Nazis and Medical Fear-mongers.

    Best.

Your ability to understand Holy Scripture and to apply it correctly is
at the same level as your ability to understand politics, social issues,
and Christianity -- which level is at zero.

    So?

    So again . . .

cherry-picked the part that YOU liked. The part that harmonizes with
YOUR social-political preferences, whims, biases, and prejudices.

This is reasonable, people should behave this way. Wearing a mask indefinitely? Idiotic. Only someone with an IQ of a retard could suggest such BS.

Why the pejorative? The fact is that people who are vaccinated or recovered pose no measurable risk at all. Further, as the number of immune grow there becomes less and less reason to wear a mask at all. I think we've long passed the critical point where masking is an effective measure against cv (if it ever was). To wear a mask today is to wear it for show.

Masks are a waste, they are useless in the BEST case. Stop being such a wuss and throw your mask away - it's not doing a f***ing thing except giving you a false sense of security.

I'm going to recommend that to your surgeon.

Sure, and I'm going to recommend that you go out in public with an open wound.
In any event the science is not as clear cut as your smug response implies:

    https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7539019/
"The use of facemasks by scrubbed staff during implant surgery should be mandatory to prevent infection. We recommend the use of facemasks by all scrubbed staff during other forms of surgery to protect the patient and staff, but the supporting evidence is weak. There is insufficient evidence to show that non-scrubbed staff must wear masks during surgery."

So you agree that masks are an ineffective measure against covid and the small benefit we were seeing has approached zero?

I think, as do the doctors, masks offer you a modest amount of protection, but provide more protection to your friends.

    Just like your surgeon. :)

Your analogy is poor so stop being obtuse. Surgery and walking through a store are different things but even in the case of surgery it's not a given that masks are providing much protection.
