Having the DOJ investigate itself is a good thing. However forcing investigators to reveal their assets and methods in the middle of the investigation to political hacks like Devin Nunez and Trump's lawyer is an aberration. Nunez was kicked off one investigation for acting as a mole for Trump. Now, I suppose all crooks who are being investigated will expect to barge into the DOJ and FBI with their lawyers and demand that documents regarding the investigation be released immediately. What a clusterf&$k.

    Ok, slowly.

"NO ONE in the Trump Campaign EVER sought out the Russians for dirt to influence the election.."

You don't know that. Moreover the fact that Trump campaign officials were eager to obtain such dirt is documented, by no less than Donald Trump Jr.

".but they needed "informants" to "protect them from Russian influence"

Sad how you belabor that claim, when in fact, it was the intention of Yates and Comey to warn Trump about Russian efforts that they still assumed at that point that he,, and his senior people were not particpating in. This, of course, rested on the assumption by Comey that Trump was behaving like a responsible politician and a patriot, two assumptions that events have shown to be dubious at best.

There is no evidence whatsoever to support your claims that the "Obama Swamp's allies" planted anything in the UK. But you need your fantasy and your silly labels. They are substitutes for thinking and for facts.

"Meanwhile, the Clinton campaign SECRETLY ACTIVELY SOUGHT OUT AND PAID $MILLIONS to CONTACT RUSSIAN AGENTS TO GET "DIRT" ON TRUMP, to INFLUENCE THE ELECTION"

All caps don't lend authority to right wing fevers swamp fantasies. There is no evidence that the Clinton campaign did anything in secret on this matter, nor that they paid out millions to anyone. Opposition research is a normal part of most campaigns. Colluding with the intelligence agents of a rival government which is attacking the US at the same time is not.

You can keep your bridge. I hope you don't have that much invested in it.

Actually, I wonder why you are wasting everyone's time by belaboring these claims. Although I'm quite sure that you will continue to do so. One thing about ginned up campaigns like the one Trump launched with teh Justice Department this week is that the target audience laps up the spin like mother's milk and repeats and embraces it.

Evidently you haven't' noticed that the Republcians have gone completely silent. after a week of Trump bellowing about demanding "transparency", trying to rig the meetings so his attorney would be there and the Democrats left out, and Guliani admitting publicly that the only reason any of this went on was so the Devin Nunes could walk in front of a TV camera and reveal whatever classified information he might obtain for the benefit of Trump and his lawyers

Hillary purchased dirt from the Russians and Obama's crooked DOJ/FBI used it to mislead the FISA court into illegally spying on the Trump campaign. And what judge authorized planting actual spies? Well, we'll have to get to the bottom of that!

You had such hopes for Dirty Bob, but a year later, it is the Special Counsel, his dream team of special investigators, the FBI, Hillary Clinton, and the Obama Administration who are twisting in the wind. They have, in the process of finding no serious crimes in the Trump camp, revealed several serious crimes of their own. After several long rounds, the left has all but punched itself out, and Trump/Session's are just warming up.

"Colluding with the intelligence agents of a rival government which is attacking the US at the same time is not."

And which of the two campaigns PAID MILLIONS to do just that?

It's amazing how the TDs left just keeps glossing over the FACT that it was the CLINTON CAMPAIGN, that SOUGHT OUT AND PAID FOR, " Russian Interference", and LIED ABOUT IT FOR A YEAR.

That's what the TDS left calls "opposition research". ASININE.

Meanwhile, out of the other side of their mouths, the TDS left cites UNSOLICITED contacts to the Trump Campaign, made by people CONNECTED to the Obama Swamp DOJ (Veselnitskaya) , AND the Obama Swamp's cohorts in British Intel, MIFSUD, etal) are "proof of collision"!!!???

Absolute, disingenuous IDIOCY, on its face.

It's OBVIOUS who was SEEKING FOREIGN AGENT INFLUENCE IN THE ELECTION; "follow the money", as the TDS left keeps harping, which ONLY LEADS TO= THE CLINTON CAMPAIGN. $MILLIONS PAID.

It ain't rocket science, and the fact that the "protectors from Russian influence" weren't ALL OVER the Clinton Campaign over it, is absolute, undeniable proof of the glaringly partisan, corrupt, political motivations of the SPY OPS of the Obama Swamp, against the Trump Campaign.

They said ahead of time they were going to LIMIT what they showed the people CHARGED WITH THEIR OVERSIGHT.

The current Obama Swamp LIE is that it would endanger HALPER, who everyone already knows was at least ONE of the SPIES...obvious, UTTER, TRYOING COVER THEIR ASSES, NONSENSE.

The POTUS should DECLASSIFY ALL OF IT, and ORDER IT RELEASED.

If they did nothing wrong, WHAT ARE THEY HIDING???

Thanks for the posting the article Grokmaster.

But your take on it is COMPLETELY WRONG.

The Democratic Party and their freinds at CIA cooked up this whole thing. :democrat:

Blaming the Russians that's complete BS and you should know by now:

Hillary is EVIL from all her wars on the innocent Arabs, and the CIA shipped all those militias, guns and bombs to Libya and Syria -and her Hollywood buddies like Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt visited Obama at the White House and cheered on the Islamic militia cut throats in Libya, while George Clooney joined the war spouting Council on Foreign Relations, who ( like Ollie North, and Shaun Hannity ) never saw a war they didn't love.

There isn't a word of truth to any of this nonsense.

Sorry, but the phoney right wing campaign to promote the "dossier" fell apart a long time ago. I do not understand why you are still clinging to it.,

Don't be such a tool for the DNC. :democrat:

That post was pure crap and you know it.

The Wash. Post, NYT, NBS and CNN promoted the dossier as evidence after the CIA, Mueller leaked it to the media.

No. But we are taking apart the Justice Department’s unprecedented contempt for duly elected representatives, and the lasting harm it is doing to law enforcement and to the department’s relationship with Congress.

Only Trump may assert privilege against Congressional Oversight, and he has not. He has ordered the Justice Department to comply with oversight. We are going to get to the very bottom of the illegal warrants and spies and dirty dossiers and biased text messages. The Felony behavior of the crooked Obama DOJ/FBI/Crapper/Brennan will be carefully uncovered, in a lawful constitutional process, with all the Constitutional Rights of the guilty protected, followed by hopefully convictions and long incarcerations. This lawless misuse of our top Law Enforcement, in league with foreign intelligence against Americans in a Political campaign and even a new Administration, can never be allowed to happen again.

Congress—a separate branch of government, has a primary duty of oversight—they have a duty to access Justice Department material and get to the bottom of these crimes.

The Constitution set up Congress to act as a check on the executive branch—and it’s got more than enough cause to do some checking here. Yet the Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation have spent a year disrespecting Congress—flouting subpoenas, ignoring requests, hiding witnesses, blacking out information, and leaking accusations, even though The President, is not asserting privilege, rather he is demanding that these rogue agencies comply with Judicial and Congressional Oversight.

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley is more than a year into his demand for the transcript of former national security adviser Mike Flynn’s infamous call with the Russian ambassador, as well as reports from the FBI agents who interviewed Mr. Flynn. They aren't refusing to provide this because it reflects well on them, more likely it will reveal criminal prosecutorial abuse by Dirty Bob Mueller as well felony alterations of the FBI 302's by Dirty Peter Strzok and Lying Andy McCabe to force a guilty plea by Flynn after they threatened to do the same to and jail his son as well.

Ron Johnson, chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee, is being stonewalled on at least three inquiries. The House Judiciary and Oversight committee chairmen required a full-blown summit in April with Justice Department officials to get movement on their own subpoena. The FBI continues to block a fuller release of the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia report.

The documents that Justice deigns to send over are nearly useless. Mr. Grassley this week excoriated the department for its routine practice of redacting key information, and for similarly refusing to provide a “privilege log” that details the legal basis for withholding information. Justice had scrubbed from the Dirty Peter Strzok-Lisa "Happy Horndog" Page texts, the duo’s concern that former Deputy FBI Director lying Andy McCabe had a $70,000 conference table. A separate text refers to an investigation that the White House is “running,” but conveniently blacks out which one. The FBI won’t answer Mr. Johnson’s questions about who is doing the redacting.

This intransigence is creating an unprecedented toxicity between law enforcement and Congress, undermining what has long been a cooperative and vital relationship. It is also pushing lawmakers ever closer to holding Justice Department officials in contempt or impeaching them. Congress hasn’t impeached a member of the executive branch (presidents excepted) since the 19th century. Let’s agree such a step would amount to a real crisis. And the pressure to use these tools to get disclosure is growing, as congress is determined to exercise its oversight authority over these rogue agencies.

President Trump was correct to order that Justice comply with Mr. Nunes’s demands for documents about the FBI spy Stefan Halper and other information related to the catalyst of this investigation. As president, he has a duty to protect the reputation and integrity of the Justice Department—even from its own leaders. Forcing officials to comply with legitimate congressional oversight is far better than sitting back to watch those same officials singe the institution and its relationship with Congress in a flame of impeachment resolutions.

If necessary, Mr. Trump can declassify everything, letting Congress and the public see the truth, but, for now he prefers to work through regular channels.

    BEHIND THE REDACTIONS
It is incredibly difficult to keep up with the release of primary documents in the congressional Trump-Russia investigations. Some of them are first released in heavily redacted form (making crucial parts incomprehensible) and then released in less redacted form requiring comparison with those released earlier. In the Weekly Standard column “Grassley raises objections to Justice Department redactions,” Eric Felten focuses on the content behind the redactions in the Strzok-Page text messages previously produced to Senator Grassley.

In doing so, Eric draws on the letter sent by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley on Wednesday to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein (embedded via Scribd at the bottom of this post, committee press release posted here). Grassley staffers have been allowed to take a peek behind some of the redactions. What now? “The manner in which some redactions have been used casts doubt on whether the remaining redactions are necessary and defensible,” Grassley writes.

You can see why Senator Grassley might be a tad suspicious about the good faith of the FBI/Department of Justice redactors. Here is Felten’s summary:...

Hardly. History will record the preposterous attempt to deny the Obama Swamp political spying, as one of the most outrageous , obvious piles of bullshit anyone ever tried to float by the American people:

The OBAMA SWAMP sent in spies to "protect" the Trump Campaign from "Russian influence", when they were approached by the very people the OBAMA SWAMP PUT THERE, while IGNORING the Clinton Campaign secretly paying $ millions to BUY RUSSIAN INFLUENCE IN THE ELECTION.
This is the kind of Pretzel Think bullshit that only makes sense in Leftbubble.

Yeah..some "wild conspiracy theory"....please specify what is not TRUE.
