You should reread this thread and you'd have your answer.

But that's fine, God will protect me until He decides I don't need protection.

    I have zero worries.

    THOUSANDS. . . . REALLY???

Sounds like another desperate attempt to diminish the importance of Trump's compulsive propensity to prevaricate.

Wrong. I simply believe that Christ would slap the ever lovin' shiite out of modern American Evangelicals. They are the exact same self-righteous, self-serving, self-deluded hypocrites that always earned his derision and scorn in the Gospels. Pharisees in all but name...

    Matthew 23

Then Jesus t said to the crowds and to his disciples, 2 "The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat, 3 so practice and observe whatever they tell you - but not what they do. For they preach, but do not practice. 4 They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. 5 They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make a their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, 6 and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues 7 and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others. 8 But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. 10 Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Christ. 11 The greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

13 "But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. For you neither enter yourselves nor allow those who would enter to go in. 15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of s hell as yourselves.

16 "Woe to you, blind guides, who say, 'If anyone swears by the temple, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.' 17 You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that has made the gold sacred? 18 And you say, 'If anyone swears by the altar, it is nothing, but if anyone swears by the gift that is on the altar, he is bound by his oath.' 19 You blind men! For which is greater, the gift or the altar that makes the gift sacred? 20 So whoever swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it. 21 And whoever swears by the temple swears by it and by him who dwells in it. 22 And whoever swears by heaven swears by the throne of God and by him who sits upon it.

23 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint and dill and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. 24 You blind guides, straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel!

25 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. 26 You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.

27 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people's bones and all uncleanness. 28 So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

29 "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you build the tombs of the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous, 30saying, 'If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.' 31 Thus you witness against yourselves that you are sons of those who murdered the prophets. 32 Fill up, then, the measure of your fathers.33 You serpents, you brood of vipers, how are you to escape being sentenced to hell?

Words modern 'Christians' should study in-depth, because Christ was talking to them as well.

I can't argue with you here.

Christianity is dripping in hypocrisy and I see it every day.

I often have to catch myself on it.

Oh if I were perfect but I'm not.

That's just being an honest Christian girl trying her hardest.....at most times.

    I fail miserably.

I don't know what that means.

I'm probably not as smart as you.

So you can dumb it down for me a little. :)

Spooky, you are a good poster. I would like to suggest you question "Even the very existence of God". Question everything. I say this because my brother doesn't and he is a mess. He reads one line out of the bible and it is gospel to him, he doesn't consider the context.

Learn lessons from oppression of the past:

    1. Speak truth to power. When they ban your speech say it twice as loud
    2. Confront it now rather than later when you might not have the power to do so
    3. Resist the temptation to go too far and start oppressing them. Armistice is the goal, not substitution of hate for hate.

Heck, #3 is what produced this whole situation.

I've never understood collars and piercings. Why would you want to look like cattle or a pitbull?

They are a massive turn off for me. You could put the hottest lady in them and I'd have little interest. A non-starter.

It means I'm very good at calling out 'Xtian' hypocrisy, and using Christ's own words to demonstrate their hypocrisy and back them into the corner.

I've found that many Xtians who proclaim to follow Christ are remarkably ignorant of what He actually said, especially the parts about loving your enemies, caring for the poor and sick and not being judgmental jackasses in general. Maybe if they spent more time in quiet study and introspection and less time thumping their chests and condemning others because they sin differently, they would have a more humble and compassionate - dare I say Christ-like? - perspective.

Do not mistake disgust with demonstrable militant hypocrisy for hate.

Bet you could not enlighten your fellow forum members with the chapter and verse of THAT referenced passage. . . .

Jesus Himself called out many for hypocrisy, but warned his followers that being judgmental COULD backfire if they themselves did not set a good example.

One of His most often quoted verses is: You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

If you are indeed serious about being a Christian, "walk the walk".

Quoting Bible passages is not walking the walk.

    Any fool can do that.

Which I think we've already proven.

When you start hearing public calls for Xtians to be rounded up and put in camps - like reich-wingers and many so-called Christians want done to refugees and Muslims - you can talk about persecution. Until then, it's Alex Jones level paranoia. Just because you are losing your grip on being the majority doesn't mean they're coming to get you. Unless, of course, you've given them a reason to want to come get you. Have you?

    I debate out of respect.

Its never personal but it can sometimes come off that way.

For all I know you are right and I may learn something knew.

I am always open to that possibility.

But READING the Bible IS important. . . . Living life without it is like attempting to duplicate a recipe without knowing the ingredients or following the instructions in the cookbook.

    I disagree.

Your walk with the Lord is what is important.

The Bible is only another connection to him, some sort of generic guidance.

Hence my point about quoting scripture.

Any fool can do that, it doesn't mean you know God.

    Are you a cult member???

I know of no officially recognized Christian denomination that does not stress the ultimate importance of biblical guidance. How can you know God's will without reading His book, which was even endorsed by Jesus Himself???

You CANNOT have a personal relationship with Christ without even attempting to get to know Him. Don't let politics define your religion.
