Should we fine people who don't vote? Should voting be mandatory?

If it continues to maintain a complete choke-hold on the economies of 'the West', these central banks, like the "Fed" will be the DEATH of our economies.

Reflect on this: In Russia and China, the governments tell their central bankers "how it's going to be"... NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!

Private citizens in private business and private economies acting in their own self interest is the way to ensure the most above the poverty level and rising incomes and a higher standard of living for the most people. It is when government takes it upon itself to manage those self interest interferes in that free economy that we see less of the above. The less free market the lower the standard of living for all.

And what was inadequate or insufficient about my economic and political views. It worked for me no different from anyone else who took responsibility for their future and not looked to government for it. My first job was unloading boxcars of lumber in July on the Gulf Coast for minimum wage, working the sheetrock cutters with blacks guys who turned white in the processes and led to lots of kidding and joking. Then the shipyard. Then move 1000 miles to get a better job and working my own self up through the whole process, it wasn't government and it certainly wasn't privileged. I was acting in my own self interest. I have quit jobs I didn't like and fired from ones I did. And in each case improved from where I was based on my work record.

Every time the government has tried to inject itself into me personally or the company I worked for or in a industry I sold to it was not for MY good. The best jobs situations for the most people have come from times where we did hold back and even rescind some of that government insertion and even allowed people to keep more of their income to use in their own self interest.

I believe that is the Globalists' grand plan for us Plebeians who are outside their Public-Private Oligarchy.

...unless you can "learn to code" so you're useful to them. LOL

I'll pass on your ideological assertions there, so let's read on...

"It" - being an economy that works for all. Surely EVERYONE wants/wishes that!

We certainly do NOT have "it" at present, so no-one can be fleeing from "it" .....which doesn't exist.

Now presumably in truth you don't believe an economy that works for all is possible. I'm here to tell you it is.

..."the system they believe" ....will achieve an economy that works for all (surely not just for some?)

We had a such a system (to a greater degree) in the 1946-1960's era ("golden age" of capitalism), when one breadwinner could support a family with four kids....

You are ignoring the reality of the economic global supply chain in the modern global economy. Cities can no longer "do as they wish". eg, negotiation of foreign deals will need to be carried out under the auspices of a properly instituted WTO which can promote prosperous development in ALL nations.

    1. Because self-interested competitive individuals by themselves are NOT concerned to achieve above poverty employment for all. In fact they will resist such an outcome, in an economic system than presupposes resource scarcity.

    2. The history of the world is a history of resource competition, against a backdrop of more or less continuous warfare.

No. You have a Right and a Responsibility to contribute to the nation's development, through which you EARN a living.

Refer to the principle above. So it's a SYSTEMS problem. Everyone CAN contribute usefully - and thereby earn a living - given a system designed to allow that to happen.

Note: you refer to a "free human labor market"; but you are ideologically indisposed to considering public sector markets alongside private sector markets, in your formulation.

Eg maintenance of public parks, or assisting the elderly to remain in their own homes is VERY desirable economic activity....Whereas some private sector activity should be wound-up immediately. eg the purely profit-driven, sugary drinks "industry" etc etc. And gambling casinos? Sent Trump broke.... So much for "free human labor markets"..

    There's the problem right there.

Addressed above. You need to redefine "parasitism" urgently.

Yes, about 1/2 the country are people that are students, seniors with fixed income and likely low, the working poor, and just plain poor.
So it stands to reason that 1/2 the country pays no taxes. That should not be a surprise, so it is not an argument.

    For the "most" people?

    (link)

    40% of Americans can't cover a $400 emergency expense (cnn.com)

Which explains the wide-spread support for Bernie Sanders policy of "an economy that works for all".

There you go, talking about yourself again. Bezos did pretty well too...

During which time whole cities eg Detroit, Baltimore, were reduced to urban slums by global economic forces beyond the control of individuals...

Are you agreeing with me, in regard to national central banks?

China, with its PBofC is (I think) creating and spending the nation's currency into the economy, regardless of Chinese citizens' private savings.

Whereas in the West, governments have to go begging to the private sector to fund public expenditures, BECAUSE Western central banks are forbidden to create and spend the nation's own currency, alongside money creation in private sector banks...

    That's where MMT come in.

Who used that typical Socialist propaganda slogan first thought? Bernie or Hillary?

Would you trust Hillary Clinton to follow through on "an economy that works for everyone"?

I fear you have bought into age-old Blue promises which originated in Socialism/Marxism/Communism to bedazzle an angry populace and win power. Every time a country has walked away from Capitalism and voted for those cotton candy and unicorn dreams an economy that works worse for everyone follows. Any middle-class which existed previously gets annihilated within about two decades.

So who said it better: Hillary or Bernie?

You might want to check the date since incomes were going up and savings were going up before the pandemic hit. We had one of the best economies in our history and it was NOT due to the government it was due to our free markets and private businesses expanding and hiring and having to raise wages because they had more jobs than they could fill. And the economy works for all who are willing to work for and with it.

Yes me a perfectly average guy. There's nothing I did that someone else couldn't do if they put in the effort and took the same risk. And I was a production superintendent for a light manufacturer on the South Side of Chicago in the middle 1970's. Two and half years in the roughest part of Chicago. What reduced them to urban slum were liberal policies and crime. It was bad enough when I worked there but a few years after I left the plant which employed about 100 people pulled the plug and relocated out to the western suburbs. Good paying jobs run out by the people living there. It wasn't global forces it was local and federal government.

It depends who he is running against. Dementia Biden is a loser, Tulsi is the winner, Yang maybe, Cruz is good but DeSantis might be better...etc...
I am against actual voter suppression. Just because I recognize that today's left is strangling our country doesnt mean I'm on the right. Also, I am against impeaching Dementia Joe for things the American people already knew about before they voted for him. He sure is dangling his feet over the fence though when he canceled the executive order that protects our electrical grid from China hackers.

Ah, you are against "actual" voter suppression. What about virtual suppression? It sounds more like you live in the conspiracy zone beyond left or right.

If government ever decides to make itself smaller, I will go back to voting. No need to fine me. They just need to get control of themselves.
