As you are applying it it is in direct conflict with the Second Amendment phrase "shall not be infringed". The Second Amendment should trump (pun) Commerce. If the Commerce Clause is used to regulate guns out of existence how is that not infringing?

Not sure if I am agreeing with you but I see no problem with guns that never leave private property. Different rules for hunting. Your point number 1 is definitely wrong because amendments can change any parts of the constitution so can be amended to state that a license is required

 

The entire point of my response was to illustrate the fallacy of linking the privileges associates with driving a car on public roads with the basic exercise of the right to keep and bear arms. Apparently you agree.

But to say we won't do a single thing because that means it will lead to total confiscation is narrow minded. Guns will never be in a total ban, in our lifeimes our our grandkids. That's the NRA playing to a base with scare tactics.

Why don't we instead promote school shootings. Anybody who brandishes a gun in a school is immediately shot by an armed teacher or policeman. They would understand that and quit it. What's his face is enjoying his 15 minutes of fame right now. I'd rather he get it posthumously. Got that?

 

A good question and one I have been asking for years. As an honest law abiding citizen I should be able to have a full auto and hand grenades and etc.

To me things are only "common" when everyone has the same idea or when everyone agrees. I tend to disagree with most "common sense gun control" proposals I have seen. So I guess they are not really "common".

Was it narrow minded of the Founding Fathers to include the Second Amendment in the Bill of Rights? They were very aware of the effects of an oppressive government.

You say there will not be "a total ban in our lifetimes or our grandkids". So that would indicate three generations. Are you not concerned that your great grandchildren have the same rights you and your children have had?

Its because the murderer in those instances was an illegal immigrant.

That's why you never heard about them.
That's why your media never talked about them
And that's why you don't care about them.

The firearms that the illegals used to kill those people weren't legal.

So the only "gun control" that would have prevented them would have been a door to door person to person search for firearms.

Four of the people on that list were killed by illegals using illegally obtained firearms in/from states that already have registration laws.

I picked those names for good reasons and your responses are illustrating those reasons.
