despite all the bad things in life, the single most important thing that makes America great is that we are all well fed.

it is impossible to get too much fiber because it helps the bowels to work better.

Maybe. But those same Folk were as reliable and
dependably American as Mom and apple pie. That being the
basis for our Defeating Nazi Germany,Fascist Italy and
Tojo's Japan.Americans were ONE.Of course there were those like
    profiled in Alfred Hitchcocks movie - Saboteur - { 1942 }
which was shelved for years. It showcased how a small select group
of Authoritarian Americans { The upper crust } colluded in trying to
help the spread of regimes that support Anti-Capitalism and even
Hitler. That scary thought is now a reality in the United States.
The manifest unravelling of Capitalism and Americana.
If only it was as cushy as explaining card playing and board games.
Like in the Twilight Zone episode :
    - Third From the Sun - { 1960 }.

    For dinner tonight:

    - freshly made homemade rice meatballs made from sausage and ground steak in stewed tomatoes

    - lemonade to go with it.

I'm helping a friend with his family's taxes tonight so I can't have the usual wine and moonshine chaser for dinner. So I'll wait until I'm done with the X/L spreadsheets and then have an aperitif later before bed.

Lots of rain today with more expected.

About 10 years or so ago barn swallows moved to my front porch. They kept trying to build their nest above my front door which wasn't a mutually satisfactory place, so I kept knocking them down in hopes they'd build in another section of the porch...which they eventually did. However, each year, it was a 2-3 week battle convincing them not to build above my door (which was inset about 10 feet under the roof whereas the rest of the small porch area was only inset about 5 feet). Amazingly, with only a half inch lip, they could build a mud and grass nest stuck to the wall. Thinking that a natural law of nature is the path of least resistance, a few years ago I built two little corner pieces, a floor the size of their nests, with two wall pieces which I screwed high up on my porch in an area where they'd be both out of the way and where bird crap could be easily washed away. It worked.

They returned a few weeks ago but only made modest attempts to build nests. At first I didn't understand why, but then it occured to me maybe it was too dry for them to make their mud/grass nests. With the rain, hopefully they'll start building. Usually they have two broods a year.

What no Bridge.I grew up on Parents and their Bridge parties.
    Or Wifes and bridge luncheons.
Of course there was always ash trays present.Since smoking
    was part of the culture.
Bridge is now a thing of the past.Like the Nuclear Family.
We are getting closer and closer to a Franz Kafka/Orwellian

I do whatever I can to help birds { especially Robins } have a place
to nest.I've been this way ever since a kid.I have a Robin family
that has been nesting under and around my Home since the 80's.
Plus Finches.Cardinals and Bluejays seem to be more interested in
being aggressive and stealing food. But they are OK as far as I'm
    concerned.Some black birds,but not as a rule.

the devil is in the details, socialism balances the budget with genocide and capitalism balances it with slavery.

I used to have mockingbirds that nested in a large tree in my backyard, but for the past couple years it was dying. Last fall a storm knocked it down. I have several other trees on my property but nothing even half as big.

I do have two Purple Martin houses. Keeping the sparrows out is a constant battle.

Backgammon was invented by the Greeks and is the oldest game in the world.

I love it online or in person.

Today is my Sunday. Just had 2 days off. Tomorrow I go back to work for 5 to 10 straight days -- I never know how long until I get another Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of my own.

So tonight is Sunday night and time for my weekly hot bath.

I like my bath water at 110F and to get it that high I need to add two big spaghetti pots full of boiling water to ordinary hot tap water at my el cheapo apartment which does have washer/dryers inside each apartment and lots of play areas for dogs and cats -- pet friendly. Almost everyone who lives here has a pet. Many have several. The city limit is 3 per household.

The rest of the week I either duck-shower (a very fast shower where you duck in and duck out) or sponge baths in the bathroom sink.

The bath is drawn and ready to go.

    Nite E Nite, Barflies !!

    Wrong ... again.

Ok ... this is your homework assignment.Put on yer Lois Lane
hat.I want you to seriously check into this. Why the tallest bldg. use
different colors to light up that part of the city.
It must be code for something. It COULD be code for something.
Find out how long this Lighting has been used and when it changes
color.I don't believe or trust in coincidence.
One doesn't win an NFL championship by Coincidence.
One doesn't win a gift from Neiman Marcus because they are
    Nice.
    Do They ?

I dont think there's anything sinister about the lights downtown. The green bldg started when technology supplied the type of lighting that would work to outline a skyscraper. For years, it was always green (Dallas' color). Then Reunion Tower acquired computerized lights that can be programmed to celebrate sports wins or holidays. Lastly, the Omni Hotel was built near the convention center and has a whole wall of computer controlled lights. When coordinated, downtown can be united by a single message .. like Happy Valentine's Day.

style boutique hat they have at Neiman Marcus.
Would you prefer one with a nice feather or more
    plain jane.

Oh, you sweet, gullible, little fool.

Those lights obviously signal the alert level in preparations for the NATO invasion.

"This is only a test." Sure it is.

I'm just grateful that the Pleiadians are on our side. (I think)

Very nice. Like you I don't think there is anything sinister about the color combinations.

Although it is curious that white U.N. helicopters have been spotted in the vicinity when the colors are used in the following sequence: [censored].

    Weird.
