Every bar needs a food, drink and entertainment critic. But for you I would be addicted to white lightning by now. ;-)

If the Food Network has Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, surely PF can coexist with SB&G.

I guess. But as one who was taught by the Nuns in Parochial
School, I developed a proclivity towards Not being told what to
    do or Not to do.
I already went thru that phase in Grade school.

    Wrong. On two fronts.

They teach you that in your fancy college?

Robotics and artificial intelligence will eliminate the need for entire career fields.

Higher wages don't trigger inflation. Higher wages only improve the conditions for the possibility of inflation to occur.
The only thing that triggers inflation is the customer's willingness to pay higher prices.

Keep in mind there is also a condition known as Deflation.
Where there is an Increase in the value of a dollar { meaning your
dollar will have greater purchasing power }.
Whereas with Inflation there is less purchasing power.
The downside with Deflation is that it's the result of Less
Consumer demand.Or a weak Economy.Or an impending Recession.
The CPI or Consumer Price Index is what defines either Inflation
or Deflation.Which is why Under Obama it was seldom ever mentioned.
Because we had a stagnant Economy and Inflation was creeping.
Milk,Bread and Eggs are the easyist food items to track for indications
    of Inflation.

On vacation in North Carolina. Saturday, my siblings and our families will head for Emerald Isle for the long weekend (and a few days). The bad news is there's rain in the forecast. The good news is we're all stocked up on liquor and movies.

Watched "The Post" tonight. Interesting movie. I liked how it dovetailed into Watergate....not to spoil the ending. :)

Great quote from the SCOTUS ruling:
'In the First Amendment the Founding Fathers gave the free press the protection it must have to fulfill its essential role in our democracy. The press was to serve the governed, not the governors.'

It usually does. The problem we have nowadays is, due to cable news, there is such a rush to put out "the news" that they often fall down on fact-checking. Still, they are trying.

That said, it was a good movie even if not perfect. It reflected the times, the problems and the risks. There's even a decision theory named after Daniel Ellsberg: The Ellsberg Paradox.

Fact-checking became corrupted as soon as Obama announced
    as a Presidential candidate.In 2007 or before.
Therefore the existence of *FactCheck.org on Feburary 25,2008
months before the Republican Party nominated McCain for President.
FactCheck.org was used to raise questions about McCain eligibility
without raising similar questions about Obama.

    * Started in December of 2003 and funded primarily by the
Annenberg Foundation of Chicago_One of Obama's most
    valued Community Organizing initiatives.

Just on a basic entry level employee (unskilled labor) the hire-on costs run about $200 each, to say nothing of training time. You move up the ladder, and the costs rise at an astounding rate.

As to keeping them, there's not a whole lot you can do when entry level does a no call no show. I was 'amused' when one such NCNS later tried to get his job back. When asked about his reason for the NCNS, he said he had to go food shopping. Food. Shopping. All righty then.....

I never thought of either of them as skanks, just singers imitating bad girls as a way into the industry but what would I know about it lol

I've never really paid attention to an entertainer's social life. It all boils down to if I like what they do (sing, act, etc). Why would I care if they are a skank, if they have music I enjoy?

I just got a pretty good CD at Barnes & Nobel.
A Cyndi Lauper CD.It had a song I needed to hear.
    - Money Changes Everything - on her { She's So Unusual }
CD.However the Money track was not well engineered..I've heard
better versions on YouTube. And it cost $ 12 bucks.
I got a great CD last month for $ 1.99 and a thrift shop.
Natalie Merchant - Opehlia - which is fantastically engineered.
It really brings out the best in my Living Room new Stereo setup.

Political views will turn me off of an entertainer faster than anything. I like entertainers for their talents not their political views they can keep that private.

So then a Movie about a Rock Star or even a singer would
    be out of the question.Huh?
Then explain all the Elvis Presley movies. That is what interested me
most about The King.Granted it was the 45 rpm version of
    - Jailhouse Rock - that got me shakin' all over.I think I was
    not even 10 years old.

Can't say as any bio type movies have drawn my view, including Elvis.

If I want to learn about a person's life, then I can do a variety of reading on the subject.

Movies and music are for relaxation. :)

The near universal proclivity to obey authority usually surfaces long after the 2nd grade. Alas.

"Many subjects will obey the experimenter no matter how vehement the
pleading of the person being shocked, no matter how painful the shocks
seem to be, and no matter how much the victim pleads to be let out. This
was seen time and time again in our studies and has been observed in
several universities where the experiment was repeated. It is the extreme
willingness of adults to go to almost any lengths on the command of an
authority that constitutes the chief finding of the study and the fact
most urgently demanding explanation." Obedience to Authority, Introduction (Milgram I/III).
