Land is hard to tame sometimes. I had english ivy on the north side of my house and it took years to finally get rid of it. Even killing the roots wouldn't help, you still had to pull it off the brick by hand.

And dont get me started about goatheads. I have a patch of those making one corner of the yard a land mine. Will Round Up kill those? Ive heard the only way is by burning 'em. City frowns on burning yards. :flame::flame:

Now yer Talkin'. Spittin' Image of my Freshman in college
steady.I was the first guy on campus to have a steady.Took about
    a week.Very Blond and athletic.However she was a Hippie.
Tried to control every aspect of my being.
But it was worth it for the sheer joy of holding her in me
arms and going up to her bedroom after dinner each evening.
Some Frat boys sere constantly hitting on her. Then some
gals a few doors down from her dorm room brainwashed her.
Talked her into Being a Little Sister for a Sorority. The relationship
was doomed.I dint like Frat boys and their games.I just as soon
punch their lights out and call it a night. But I was not that sort of fella.
Even though I had the physicality { a was a weight lifter and wrestled
in high school }.It took me a good 2 years to get over my Freshman
    steady girl.That's Life I guess.

For breakfast at 0600AM after my graveyard shift:

    - classic ham & eggs

    - eggs scrambled

    - grapefruit juice to wash it down with.

    Yum !!

Land is inanimate, last I checked. It has no emotion or concerns other
than to sit still and possibly let Mother Nature trim it's senior citizen-like
    hairs whenever cropping-up.
I remember in one of my Real Estate courses the teach insisited there
is no such thing as bad property.Which of course is not true.Sinkholes
are bad properties.Places that had old Nuclear sites are bad property.
There is such a thing as Condemned property.
Kinda like arguing if the Hurricane that just blew into town was a
    Good or a Bad ... Hurricane.It's relative.Like Humidity.
Unlike ones Relatives who are always like a sticky humid day
once arriving at the Door with news of how happy they are to
    finally pay a visit.

The problem with black plastic is quite often, people leave it for too long, and then the soil underneath becomes anaerobic, which is not conducive to growing anything healthy afterwards without amending and supplementing the soil.

Short term, it does the job, one summer season at most for most areas. Black or clear plastic.

Unless you have small tree stumps or thick stemmed weeds. Then holes get in the plastic and stuff grows through it and over it. Then it is a mess. I wouldn't use it for a garden either. Unless I lived in a cool climate and wanted melons.

Two and a half more days, and we have a new month. We shall overload your tiny world with all that is gardening.

    60 hours. Tick tock, Foolie.
