As one friend said "If it tastes good, it's bad for you" A simple, if rather depressing, way to look at it.

Yes. Asked a friend how she lost so much weight and she replied, "gave up everything that tastes good." :(

Life leads straight to death. So, what the Hell - everything is eventually bad for you - just try to have a good time. ;-)

I refuse to give up certain foods (my weakness) entirely. I have cut way back on some of them, but some, well, for the citizens safety sake, it is best in I consume them regularly. :D

Type 1 Diabetes is a balancing act, of which I have a deep respect for those who have dealt with it since childhood. I'm a late comer to the game, and it's been a learning experience I would wish on nobody.

I use the high compliance slow carb diet which allows for good tasting high calorie meals. But diabetic would not be able to binge 1 day a week.
I would guess that you could modify it to work for you.

Be advised, Ferriss is kind of nutty - IMO, but the diet works.

There are a number of Type 2 Diabetics I am acquainted with that swear by the Keto diet, but Most (all that I know of, but I am sure there are exceptions) Type 1's must have carbs to burn... we don't store up fat (generally we are quite lean, I have a BMI of 19ish), and what spare carbs we have is stashed in the liver for when the body senses the glucose level to low, it will do an emergency dump to try and raise the blood glucose. Going 'keto' (ketoacidosis) would like kill us.

How about the slow carb? High protein, fat - cheese, eggs, nuts, heavy cream sauces - lots of good stuff.

I generally eat high protein, but not as an absolute. Nuts and cheese for snacks, along with lots of veggies, eggs, fish, other meats. Heavy cream sauces are OK in small amounts, too much liquid lactose is a problem for me. It's pasta that I yearn for, those horrendous blast-you-to-the-moon carbs in all it's infinite forms that you pay for for DAYS..... *drool*.

At Parcheesi or some neighborhood Senior's Bingo.?
In the basement cafeteria of the local Pentecostal Church.
Nothing wrong about any of that.Unless one totes along their
Knitting utensils in the event of a lull in the action.

dog posts from about 7 years ago.At Smarties Thread.
I reposted the Husky post a year later. Then another year.

Workers comp claim in aisle 3!

A long time ago, I stepped on a sail needle with bare feet in a shag rug. It went all the way through the skin web between my big toe and the toe next to it. I learned a whole new language on that one.....

I had a similar experience. 3" blow gun dart right up my arch. Thought it was sticker until I started pulling it out. Epic shock and awe.

I started my first thread on Yahoo Message Boards in Aug 1999. Came up with my name, created 'Smartmouthwoman Speaks' in the Romance & Relationship section. Had no idea it would become a lifelong pastime. No regrets, keeps me off the streets. ;)

    Today is my Friday !!!

I have one more graveyard shift tonight then 3 days and 2 nights off.

Making some fresh beef a'roni now on my stovetop for dinner with enough leftovers for breakfast in the morning after my shift.

Can't have any booze with it now, but I will in the morning.

7 years ago I had just barely gotten my own Dell Latitude E6510 and had just started surfing the online forums.

Got in trouble on most of them by speaking my mind.
