And very easy to cook too. Boil water, toss in the grits and done in about 5 minutes. The instinctive part is in knowing how much water to how much grits. To much water, runny. To little and thick and lumpy.

Eggs and grits. Break the yolk on your grits and mix. Delicious...

So Danny ... Partaking of a game of Parcheesi is probably out of
the question.Frankly I never played me no parcheesi.
But I once got a chance to play along with parcheesi.
It was the Drinking version of parcheesi.Even Italian winos
are scared silly of.Especially when some bubba brings along a
    6-pack of Mountain Dew.

And that knowledge is gained by many pots of grits being used as bricks and door stops. :)

That is all true, but Columbia has kept its 1 year "Literature Humanities" requirement that includes a reading list that has not changed much in over a century.

The ideologues in the administration and faculty are a greater challenge to critical thinking than the curriculum. IMO, the current system cannot be reformed.

I've looked at a few recipes.
I like the sound of letting it set and frying slices in butter.
I think it's going to be like pumpkin pie, I'm going to have to make some to get my head around it.

This yankee likes it with "eggs, taters and bacon" salt and butter - no sugar. :)

Used to be able to get a great breakfast at any Norm's in CA for well under $10.
Have not been there for about a decade.

Had chocolate cake and coffee for breakfast.. who wants to live forever? Wifey had cream of wheat.. which had been a new addition this week, our porridge is usually oatmeal. and... and.. we usually have frijoles.. 'cause they are, apparently, for every meal and even snacks.. (wifey spreds 'em on toast) She did make th edefinative "huevos rancheros" the other day.. hers are better than you will get in any restuarant..

no comments from you Fooli! LOL

My favorite Mexican restaurant is back open. They close for about 3 weeks every summer to go visit Mexico. Good indicator your food is genuine Mexican. For 8$ a chimichanga with rice and beans makes two meals unless you are just feeling like a real fat bastard!

I'll take my oatmeal or grits cooked in water, and that's it. No salt, no sugar, no milk, no butter, no nothing.

Every time that I pass by a house where they have a "free" pile out, I want to go back home to get stuff to add to it.
