No one has proposed any changes to current retirees or those within 10 years of retirement, where did you get that?

You are wrong about the original intent of the FICA act. But it really doesn't matter since the democrats merged SS funds into the general fund under LBJ, so today it is as you described it.

There were 1000 US Army "advisors" helping to prop up Diem....BEFORE JFK was sworn into office in January 1961. Sent by Dwight David Eisenhower.

Alright, fine. I can't be an expert on every country's history. I try to know what I can.

This doesn't change the fact that the JFK administration had a large role in the establishment and execution of the Vietnam war.

so you still buy into the one shooter, 3 bullet, magic bullet theory? The truth will be known in 2038-----when the sealed part of the Warren report is unsealed---75 years after the act.

Why do you think they sealed part of it for 75 years?

    - - - Updated - - -

Of course, Viet Nam was Kennedy and Johnson's war. 58,000 ameicans died for NOTHING. Billions of US dollars wasted for NOTHING. And we still refuse to learn anything from that fiasco.

You do realize that Jesus Christ was the first Socialist, right?

I am a Catholic, and there is nothing in your comment that makes me recognize your attitude as in line with the teachings of Christ!

Charity and socialism are not the same thing. Jesus was apolitical. He taught love of fellow man, not socialism. you are really streching with that one.

    1. Depends on your definition of Socialism. If you mean the means of production in the hands of the proletariat, then no - Christ was not Socialist at all.

    2. If you mean the modern understanding - welfare socialism, then no, he wasn't that either. He gave what he had to help people, he never stole it from others. That's my one and only criticism of welfare: to get it you steal from people under threat of imprisonment via taxation. If you source the money for it through your own wealth as Christ did I have no problem with it and it's merely charity.

    3. Libhater, as much as I usually agree with him on economics, has some (in my view) messed up views on religion and everyday life. Don't take it as representative of us all :)

To say that Christ was a socialist is based on a very... general, wishy washy definition of socialism that has nothing to do with political science. Socialism isn't just helping people. Socialism is placing the means of production in the hands of the workers - or as has become the normal use of the term these days, to create a Fabian welfare state. Christ didn't supposedly do either of these things.

anyone who still belives in the magic bullet that oswald killed kennedy is a complete retard.:weed::grin:

whats really funny is even the HSCA in the 70's admitted that the warren commission was wrong, that his assassiantion was the result of a conspiracy and even PBS which featured a special on it endorcing the warren report came out and admitted that 80% of americans no longer accept the magic bullet fairy tale anymore.

and actually Vietnam was Johnson and Nixons war.In sept 1963 there were only 82 combat deaths.thats a far cry from the 58,000 that occured under Johnson and Nixon.

Kennedy drew up a plan to completely withdraw us from vietnam by 1965.He actually inherited the war from Eisenhower who drew up a plan to esculate the war his last year in office.Kennedy resisted the plan from his war hawks.

Once Johnson got in,he implemented Eisenhowers plan and esculated the war Kennedy resisted.Kennedy put vietnam on the back burner of all his foreign policys while in office where Johnson when he got in,it was top priority on his foreign policys.Johnson also reversed Kennedys policy on vietnam reversing his policy to withdraw by 1965 and esculated the war with the gulf of tonkin incident.

It wasnt the vietcong or the NVA that murdered those 58,000 americans,it was Johnson and Nixon who murdered all those americans. His top aides even came out and said Kennedy said-I may be the least popular president ever but I will not get us involved in vietnam.

Exactly.Kennedy would have been MUCH closer to Ron Paul than ANY of the two clowns Romney or Obama if he were alive today.

Too bad Johnson had him killed.[/QUOTE]

and Nixon as well. We''ll never see a president anything like him again. He was extremely intelligent and far ahead of his time.

Uh hate to burst your bubble but Jfk was not overrated at all.You did not read my opening post at all.Reagan on the other hand, was overrated. He was a bastard. They never would have treated him like Johnson because people had hope for the first time in DECADES.especially minoritys since he got the civil rights issue going.

He was man who actully believed in world peace and tried to get us out of the war in veitnam.Oh and get your facts straight,it was Eisenhower that got us into the vietnam war.not Kennedy.Jfk inheirted that war from Ike.It did not begin in 1962 it began during Ikes presidency.Jfk resisted his war hawks in the pentagon to esculate the war.He never sent in combat troops like they wanted, all he did was send in ADVISORS.thats all.It wasnt till Johnson got in office that combat troops were sent in.

Even a special on vietnam that I have on tape that blame Kennedy for getting us into vietnam contradicts themselves cause they even say Kenedy only sent in advisors and combat troops were never deployed till Johnson got in office, get with the program.

Now your REALLY grasping at straws saying JFK'S policys were no different than the other presidents.again you need to read my first post on the first page of this thread.

again you dont know your real history, just the one our corrupt school system has brainwashed the sheople with because JFk resisted the status quo of combat troops and there were only 82 casualtys in sept 1963 before his assassination,he was going to pull out of vietnam completely by 1965.thats a well known fact.Johnson got in and reversed his policy and esculated the war with the gulf of tonkin incident.82 casualtys is a far cry from the 58,000 those bastards Johnson and Nixon murdered.we never would have had a vietnam war had Jfk lived.

The real tragedy of Viet Nam is that we refuse to learn anything from it. I see these kids coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan with arms and legs blown off, and for what?

and our govt doesn't even take care of them when they come back, they have to rely on charities like wounded warriors for their basic needs and rehab. But we have plenty of govt money for ghetto welfare moms--------we are living in a sick society.

Because they thought the man behind it all....Lyndon Johnson....might live to be 135 years old???

    - - - Updated - - -

"take care of them"???.....aren't they "free individuals" who will become "dependent on the State and take from the successful"....as "John Galt" might say????

first, it seems obvious that there are things in the warren report that the writers felt would be dangerous to the country if released.

second, your analogy is completely wrong, the government sent these kids off to fight a stupid unnecessary war and then does not take care of them when they come home blown apart mentally and physically. If there is anyone who should get govt assistence its them. But what does the govt do, patch them up and send them home to try to survive. Wounder Warriors and other charities do a good job, but the govt should be taking care of these kids instead of giving money to welfare slugs who have never done anything but suck the govt teat.

    1. So why will the danger be "lifted" come 2038? And naturally, you believe that that report will prove your supposition that "Johnson was behind it"? Okay....why is it there was NOT ONE person on the Warren Commission, on their death-bed even, who just didn't come out and say "It was LBJ"....even decades after Johnson had died???

    2. Where does Ayn Rand say the State should "take care" of veterans?

    1. I can only assume that the writers wanted to be sure that everyone involved would be dead when the truth came out, why else?

    2. Rand was a fiction author, I agree with the philosophy of some of her characters. She is not my mentor or hero. What I said about wounded vets was my personal opinion. See, unlike you liberals who all spout the same talking points day after day, we conservatives can actually think for ourselves.

So again, all the writers were "in on it too"...and NOT ONE had the moral character to tell the truth on their death bed????

I remember the first time I questioned my governments integrity and ‘morality’. I was so (*)(*)(*)(*) naïve then, a babe in a world full or ravenous wolves*. I was in the army and doing a MOS I hated but was forced to do because I am color blind which limited my selection from thousands of jobs to two a cook or an administrative clerk. Long story short I became a PsyOps specialist. I learned what we did and what we could do, well as far as my secret (not top s.) clearance would allow.

That was enough to scare the living (*)(*)(*)(*) outta’ me. Anyway, that was a wake up call. I also saw a picture of a child throwing rocks at a Israeli tank in an article in High Times magazine. I was younger and rebellious and I believed the anti Israeli anti west propaganda hook line and sinker. (but later God forgave me). Well I waffled back and forth from USA hater to USA liker, until about ten years ago and have loved my country ever since. (sans its leaders big and small). That said conspiracy theories are like everything else, they must be inspected/believed on an individual basis as determined by the evidence. I believed some and others are not believable. JFK? I believe his and his brothers assassination was committed by a group, maybe the Mafia maybe the CIA or another IA. Maybe the Russians, I don’t know for sure. 9/11 conspiracy theories? I consider them to be 99.999% to the 100th power pure bull. Big foot? Lol? Unlikely. UFOs and ET? ET surely exists but I doubt UFOs do. Our country is rotten to the core, our judicial system is unfair minorities are unfairly represented, and don’t even get me started on the other stuff. However I love my country and compared to the others we are by far the less evil, and why it is home. And that is that. Lol~

When you are sworn to secrecy, why would you violate that oath on your death bed? But how do you know that one of them did not whisper to his son or daughter on his death bed "don't tell anyone, but LBJ and the mafia did it" ?

But what point are you trying to make? It is fact that parts of it were sealed for 75 years, what do you think is in there?

I agree Reagan was overrated. They all are.

He was Commander in Chief for almost 3 years. All he had to do was say "everyone come home" and it's done. He obviously didn't do enough.

I don't care if he inherited the war, he presided over it for over 2 long years without ending it. That's reprehensible in my book.

Cool. Again, he's the head of the armed forces, he can tell them to go where he likes. Inaction in this case is action enough.

The war continued through his presidency, the tax rates remained at criminal levels, government continued to expand beyond its constitutional means and continued to interfere in internal state matters. Lincoln is so much more guilty of this than JFK, but Kennedy's remains intact.

I'm not really concerned with your conspiracy theories. The facts are that government continued to violate the rights of its citizens and he could have instantly stopped a lot of it, and set an agenda to change what was out of his authority. But he didn't - so I denounce him.

Don't care what he was going to do. Fact is he had the power to pull them out whenever he wanted to but he didn't. I completely agree that Johnson and Nixon were worse, but that doesn't erase JFK's guilt.

You make silly arguments when the facts are before us: government interference in the free market remained, totalitarian social policies remained unchanged, and the military continued to unconstitutionally stampede across Asia. That is wrong, however you want to spin it.
