    When I was a little kid, there was a place in Thousand Oaks, California, that was a wild animal park, But it was nuts. They had dangerous animals on leashes that were chained to posts with nothing but a marker or low fence of some sort to prevent you from getting too close. By any reasonable standards today that place was insanely dangerous.

    Funny, I was just thinking about the origins of the word pistol. I still remember this from the NRA course I took at age 12 - pistolas, from Pistoia Italy where handguns were first made. Not something I've thought about many times in the last 40+ years.
