The powers that be in the NFL don't want a good looking, White, devout Christian to succeed in the league.......if Tebow was black he would be starting in the NFL........

    Right.

I tend to think it is because he absolutely sucks. His accuracy is almost nonexistent, he does not perform when the pocket collapses, and he looks like a deer in the headlights when confronted with the speed of the NFL.

Broncos did not want him. Jets did not want him. Patriots did not want him. Now I am more convinced it was due to his lack of ability than some grand racist conspiracy.

Other than Tebow, are there any Christians in the NFL? Just askin'.

Dallas Cowboy owner and de-facto coach Jerry Johnson should hire Tebow to replace Tony Romo.

That would be a great plan, if the intent is to make your team suck even worse than they do.

I am no fan of Romo, but he is infinitely more skilled at playing quarterback than Tebow.

By the way, it is Jerry Jones.

JXVILLE should grab Tebow. The kid would put butts in the seat and sell merchandise

I never understood why his religion was literally more important to some people that his actual record. He SUCKED! It doesn't matter if he won the Hiny trophy twice or whatever other accolades he got.......this is the NFL and it's a whole different league than college both figuratively and literally. Being good in college does not automatically translate into being good in the pros.

I have had to switch from being a Raiders fan this year to my back up team the Buccaneers. I root for the Pittsburg Pirates so I will let you figure out my theme. The Raiders QB is from Ohio State which is the most godawful, over rated football program outside of Appalachia State, oh wait, Appalachia beat Michigan so I take that back Michigan is worse than Ohio but only slightly. So I know how it is to be stuck with a QB that you can't stand......it sucks. At least I have Aaron Rodgers as my backup backup QB for the Packers. :clapping:

Belichick is a known cheater..and judging on how poorly the Patriots looked in pre-season....with unproven receivers and an aging Tom Brady, they will be lucky to make the playoffs.

Good luck to Tim Tebow as his NFL career could be over... and may the Patriots and their fans....

    Stick it.

Cheaters never prosper...the Patriots glory days are done.

The King is dead...long live the new King (Andrew Luck and the Colts will be the next NFL dynasty)

    I doubt it.

Jacksonville has no offensive line to speak of other than a center, no receivers of note, and the one possible bright spot, Maurice Jones Drew, is coming off a serious injury and hold out last year.

Putting Tebow on the field in such a mess would, in my opinion, make an already horrific team worse. Not sure who would want to pay to see even worse football.

I disagree about the Colts. Yes, they will be competitive but with the likes of Chip Kelly at the Eagles, RG3 at the Skins and the 49'ers there is a new breed within the NFL. It's high time the "pocket passer" gets a kick in the complacency and a more up tempo, and running QB makes the scene.

there is the "it factor". I in no way shape or form think Tebow could give them a winning season. I do believe that the loyal UF base from that area would spend their hard earned cash to go see Tebow and it would energize the area.

Simply look to how the area and the team responded to RG3. It energized a city which in turn motivated the team. IMO, Tebow would have the same affect and would be good for local business as well.

The Jags could ride the Tebow horse for 2 seasons, make some money because of it and then part ways. We'll probably see Tebow join the coaching staff at UF or with Urban at OSU

The heck are you talking about Herk? Cheaters prosper all the time, especially in sports.

I would tend to believe Jacksonville would prefer to profit by putting a successful product on the field. Brining in a guy who can't pass the ball to save his life isn't going to get them anywhere. It's high time Tebow finds another line of work.

Scramblers/Runners at QB will always be injury prone. To have any longevity in the NFL, stayring in the pocket is where a QB will find success.

Manning, Rodgers, Favre, Brady ...elite pocket passers...

Assuming Andrew Luck stays healthy, he will eventually be among the elites.

Vick/ RG3....they are an injury away from a lost season because running makes them more exposed to hard hits...and a modern NFL defensive player who at 240 lbs. can still run a 4.5 40 yd. dash and hit like a freight train. Yes, the pocket passer can get sacked and injured, but a running QB increases the chance of an injury with more frequent exposure to the freight train that is the NFL defense, even on mediocre teams. They hit like a ton of bricks and will show the running QB no mercy...particularly QBs who get all the media attention...lke an RG3.

Once they are caught however, they become asterisks on the sports pages. Their records are tainted.

Barry Bonds comes to mind, or more recently A-Rod. Players using performance enhancing drugs... Cheating in football is centered more on the coaching staff than the athletes however...and Belichick's staff videotaped opposing teams' practice sessions...a no-no in the NFL. His legacy will be tainted as a result.

Get butts in the seat. Get the region energized about the team. Get people to buy product. Tebow could do that for the owners. The Jags have a bigger problem beside win/loss record. They need to try to keep the franchise there. Poor attendance must be addressed. They aren't going to become a winner any time soon but Tebow would revitalize interest. That area is loyal to Tebow and would probably support him for 2 seasons. That would give mgmt some breathing room as money would come in. Local bars/restaurants would benefit as well.

There aren't a lot of Jaguar fans out there. There are probably more Tebow fans. Jax really has nothing to lose and everything to gain

Belichick will be a hall of fame coach, and remembered as one of the greatest of all times. With this multi million dollar bank statement, houses across the globe, etc. I doubt that your asterisk next to his name is going to affect him too much.

Correction - they won't become winners bringing in players like Tebow. This upcoming QB draft class will be one of the finer ones we've seen in the past few years. I doubt the Jags fans are so delusional they would go out of their way to see the worst starting QB in the NFL put a (*)(*)(*)(*) poor product on the field because he was a good system QB in college. Or do the people of Jacksonsville just enjoy watching virgins throw inaccurate passes?

Patriot support in Boston among the saved and devout must be lagging.

I don't equate monetary success with personal character, and his entry into the Hall of Fame is no guarantee either while he is alive. by and large he is disliked by the media who votes on such matters. they may wait awile before voting him in given consideration to the cheating scandal.

Pete Rose has yet to get in...Mark McGwire and Barry Bonds...will never get in.

It's not a popularity contest, it's by sports writer's who know the game and know Belichick is a cheater.

Belichick is not on the level of Don Shula...not only a brilliant coach...Shula was a class act...

The media is not fond of Belichick and as the Patriots begin their downward spiral into mediocrity...we will see Belichick is by and large over-rated...Brady is getting past his prime and soon the Patriots will be just another average team in a rebuilding phase. They may make the playoffs, but they are no longer the dominant AFC team, the favorite. Belichick is proving to be a good...but not a great coach...as almost any NFL coach could have won with Brady at the helm.

    He is no Shula.

Ha. I'd bet every penny I have Bill will be in the hall of fame and you would too, like him or not.

And are we talking about the same Don Shula and Dolphins team that was charged with tampering by the NFL which cost them basically the same thing as the Patriots spying, a first round draft pick?

After the 1969 season, Joe Robbie, owner of the Miami Dolphins, signed Shula to a contract to become Miami's second head coach. As a result of Shula's signing the team was charged with tampering by the NFL.

How is Shula responsible for a decision made by the owner?

Plus...The decision was controversial because Shula and Robbie's negotiations and signing were conducted before and after the official NFL/AFL merger, respectively. Had the negotiations been concluded before the merger, while the NFL and AFL were rivals, the NFL's anti-tampering rules could not have been applied.

Belichick signed off on the spying. He was personally fined $750,000.00

    Personally...not a team fine...he was fined.

    3/4 of a Million dollars.

Not exactly a traffic ticket I'd say.
