The shut down of the worlds most largest and most complex economy is something.

Shutting down the school system nationally is something.

The largest stimulus bill is history, something.

USN hospital ships, recall of military members, federal aid to dates, emergency decelerations at the federal level

    etc.....etc.....etc...

The left is full of whinny little children who do nothing more than complain about what they have, what other have that they don’t, how no one does enough for them and how badly they are treated. They are not functioning adults, just large children dependent on the govt like they were on their parents.

Im going to so enjoy the beat down they take in November.

    I did.

Let others decide the insanity of your post.

At this point your just cheering for more cases to bash Trump with.

Sick, that’s what your are. You political agenda is more important than people’s health.

It's because the left is holding the government to account, while you are defending a President who makes decisions that go against the people's safety.

So, are you sure you're going to work as usual over Easter?

    Sure.

As of right now, there have been 34K deaths that have been attributed to corona. That equates to 0.000436%... Insignificant. Hell, just today alone, over 130K people have died.

Exponential growth is temporary. It will die off in short order.

...temporarily. It will die down in short order. I'd guess that this is going to be similar in death count to the common flu.

    We'll see.

Credentials are meaningless on an internet forum such as this.

The USA is approx five times more populous than Italy is. The USA is running a lot more tests than Italy is.

Lie. Trump took action regarding travel and borders rather quickly after learning what was going on. Italy didn't do anything until it was too late. Now, they have death panels since they have socialized health care that sucks. They're just letting older people die since they can't treat them.

It is really not any worse than the common flu. I am using stats, as reported. That does not mean that I believe those stats, but just using them as a common reference point.

No, overreaction to a flu virus caused all of that.

Many people think that ignoring something (such as this economic shutdown) can make it go away or not exist anymore. Seems odd to me too.

Italy has a very old population, many of who have underlying conditions. They also have very shitty socialized health care. They are currently letting many of their older patients die because they don't have the means to treat them because their health care sucks. Not every country is Italy. Other countries have better health care so they can actually treat their patients.

Yup. They aren't on par (regarding health care) with USA and other countries either.

    Exactly.

We don't know how many Americans have been infected beyond "confirmed" numbers. It is anyone's guess as to how many have been infected to date.

Exactly. Who knows how many people have had it. This means that death rates are MUCH lower than what is being reported by the MSM. Same applies for the common flu.

TWICE you said it will die down in short order.

Please cite your reference. I really want to hear who informed you of that.

    BULL.

The common flu does NOT overrun our hospitals or create exceptional demand that oustrips our national supply of ventilators.

Our hospitals are not overrun. The free market is adjusting for the increased demand for ventilators.

Once again, the death rate is NOT the issue.

Please try to remember that the issue is that it is overrunning our healthcare system.

    NO - that's a cheap dodge.

I want to know what medical expert informed that this would be over shortly.

We have to face that a certain % of the population will not assist in this process because they refuse to learn about it. Anyone pretending this is just like the flu is clearly not interested in anything resembling facts. When we hit max deaths in the US, projected to be April 15, we will see if anyone changes their tune. When we run out of resources and the sick and dying have no hospital to go to, we will see if anyone changes their tune. (That is projected for April 14.)

I just hope we don't have to start using our hockey rinks as morgue/waiting room for the dead, like they are in Spain & Italy.

    Not everywhere.

However, many hospitals today have ended all but emergency treatment for those who dont have COVID - no hip replacements, etc., etc.

We've had to call in hospital ships to offload nonCOVID patients.

Some places are running out of ventilators even after new supplies.

Who told you our hospitals are not overrun???

Again, no dodges - I want to know.

Quite true, sad to say. American ignorance is really astounding for a first world country.

Philly and NYC are building huge new morgue space.

Other places are renting refridgerated trailers to handle the number of deaths.

That article says nothing about the peak case numbers in the USA.

Nor should it. The number of deaths will have a lot to do with the US response - federal, state and individual.

Will citizens listen to medical science? Will they listen to the authors of the papery you siite? Or, are they ready to party like they did at spring break?

So far, Dr. Fauci has not considered the response of US citizens to be anywhere near to being adequate to preventing our healthcare system from being overwhelmed.

Have you donated a ventilator yet?
