Is it your understanding that murdering one American would be 'ethnic cleansing'?

 

Of course the difference is that the Muslims are mass murdering Christians, which is genuine 'ethnic cleansing', while the Jews would only be guilty of 'expulsion'.

The poster enjoys the term 'ethnic cleansing' because of its hoped for emotional impact but any reasonable reader understands the propaganda involved and dismisses the idea accordingly.

 

Do you believe that anyone believes 'all Muslims are terrorists' and that none can show kindness? In fact people can be kind everywhere, including Muslims, but that does not mean that there is not a strong element within Islam that is committing terrorism and social mayhem, as well as ambitions toward an international caliphate.

Not all Muslims are bad, or good, just like anyone else. But there is a significant amount of bad within Islam today, evil in fact, and that should certainly be discussed openly without lumping all of these people together. Many Muslims can be kind despite the teachings, and religious laws and rules, within Islam.

Remember that it is WE (the Western powers) who are over THERE killing & occupying THEM. If we in the west were facing similar slaughter & occupation don't you think that there would be Western "terrorists" against foreign occupiers?

Perhaps I consider Istanbul to be special because of my research on the local history.
I saw Istanbul under very different circumstances.
To make a long story short, I did a favor for a Turk who was friends with a high ranking police official. Therefore, I was given guided tours by an off-duty police officer bringing fruit every morning who showed me sites that were off-limits to regular tourists.
It's amazing what is underground in the city that dates back to Roman times etc etc.
The rest of the country was no less fascinating with people who also were kind & generous to wayward young fools just wandering around.
Therefore I have fond memories of Turkey and it's people.
No matter what your travel experiences, there are few things more colorful and, at times dismal than traveling 3rd Class via Turkish train. At the time (1973) there were steam locomotives made by Krupp in 1911 carrying people and their livestock combined; I can still smell the coal smoke, chicken poop & goat droppings.
