I have a confession to make. I said Canada would give Trump $100 and a kiss and he would move on to season two. I was wrong. Canada gave Trump a cow and a kiss, and Trump gave Canada a box of toothpicks and now we move on to season two.
Indeed, I hear the projection is for a long, steady increase in prices. Should have some SUV and truck owners feeling stupid.
Lol this is hilarious. So we got to keep the article 19 resolution chapter word for word in exchange for the dairy access we already gave the TPP. I don't think Charlie Sheen would call this winning.
No he wouldn,t but the uneducated and foolhardy genuine right wing followers will say its the greatest thing ever done by one man...........We see it here daily!
How can you call it a "win" in your headline when you don;t know any details of the deal? Must be some sort of Trumpist logic. In any case, from what we know it seems to be a win for US dairy (picking winners and losers by government decree seems to be Trump's favorite game). It also imposes minimum wage restrictions on auto workers. Let's see how Trump fans will defend such minimum wages, when they have previously campaigned against minimum wage for all their lives. In my view, the $16 minimum wage restriction for auto workers is good. Apart from that, it seems just giving NAFTA a new name.
Largest trade deal in US history. Win for farmers. Protects US intellectual property. Cue the complaints and deflections.
Gee largest trade deal in history. So was NAFTA but not that you'd notice. Win for farmers? A couple hundred mill more in dairy products into Canada but we keep our supply management scheme. Protects US intellectual property? Er, we already protected it and vice versa. We all needed more definition on digital rights and were gave a little on drug patents (increased to 10 years while TPP is only 8 years). Cue the complaints? Nope, we maintained the NAFTA dispute resolution clause which while badly abused by the US, is still in line with our other free trade agreements and one of two issues we weren't caving on regardless of any threats. Yet another trumpian win. All that bullshit and in the end, it amounts to just putting some new lipstick on the pig.
The people that allowed America to get screwed in trade deals for the last to 50 years take him seriously now
Anybody who constantly (and repetitively) uses hilariously ludicrous RW Fever Swamp buzzwords like "globalist" (in every post) is well aware that nobody takes them seriously. And, as to your point, sure (just like Trump) a lot of his supporters are ill-informed. Besides, when it comes down to the only "commodity" that really matters: Justin can get it for free and poor, old, fat Donny has to pay for it.
How can you call it a fail? Must be some sort of leftist logic. It is a win, because Canada conceeded, and signed on to a deal, after all their blustering and threats. Trump is not picking anything, except industries unfairly targeted by Canada. It imposes a minimum wage on another country, so as to make our products more competitive and keep labor local... this is in our best interest. You do WANT America to prosper more than ever right? It is not the same. Gone is the ability for companies to easily and unfairly sue our government according to authorities aligned against our best interests. That is a huge deal. It also has a subset clause which must be revisited every 6 years to continue. Between the concessions of both Mexico and Canada, and not us, this is a huge, huuuuuge win. You SHOULD be overjoyed. http://thefederalist.com/2015/08/04...about-wanting-to-spike-your-electricity-bill/
