LOL … yeah, looks like NAFTA (the worst trade deal in the history of the universe according to Drumpf) has hardly changed.

Of course, Dirty Drumpf's low-IQ cheerleaders don't have the brain power to understand this.

Just LMAO @ the SUCKERS

Just got off of the phone with a fellow pollster in Sparta, Wisconsin.

This is a windfall... Even the Minnesota Senate race is now within the statistical margin of error.

The last poll showed a 7 point lead and 18% undecided. The undecideds are decisively going towards Housley.

Here's the full extent of the changes made to the "worst deal in the history of deal making"

Autos: In order to qualify for zero tariffs, autos will have to have more of the manufacturing done by high-paid workers
Dairy: Canada will accept more American milk and dairy products.
Copyright: Canada will extend the term of copyright from 50 years after the copyright holder's death to 70 years.
Drug Patents: Canada will offer enhanced patent protection for drugs.
Dispute Resolution: Investors can no longer challenge the decisions of the governments and disputes between the three countries will be settled by a panel of representatives from all three countries (that second part was actually part of the original deal).

    And a NEW NAME.

Trumpettes are going to think this deal is great because they worship Trump and praise everything he does, but why should non-trumpettes think that this deal is so great?

Where did I call it a fail? Please quote.

Good to see, however, that you are on board of the minimum wage. Now, maybe this concept could be extended to other sectors than the automobile industry.

No, they don't. America has never gotten screwed on trade deals. America and American consumers voted with their wallets. But of course blame everyone else for screwing you, when you looked around and found out that capitalists like $2/hour workers with no bennies way better than fat good ol' boys making $25/hr with bennies and all those nasty restrictive regulations.

Take him seriously? Overblown bullying bullshit buffoonery can't ever be taken seriously no matter how big a dick he can swing.

I guess Canada lets in more Ag imports.

I don't see anything on the lumber issue, which was supposedly our biggest gripe. I live in a pine producing state, and there's no lack of markets, so I never saw the issue.

And we appear to be giving up on any notion of tariffs on American corps making cars in UAW plants in Canada. WTF was that about? LOL

Even worst, the quota imposed on cars/parts is HIGHER than what we ever shipped to you, meaning we can ship even more of the stuff now!

And you'll still have to deal with Article 19 if you don't like how the lumber business is going.

This is, in fact, also a minimum wage restriction on US auto workers. it means that 40% of US auto workers in 2023 have to earn at least $16 per hour. So, don't try to make this seem that it only applies to other countries.

BTW, I am not "you people".

No, you are included in "you people". Has nobody ever explained singular and plural to you before?

Not a single US auto worker will be paid more money under this standard. You really don't get this do you? This was not a concession for us, but Canada and Mexico.

In exchange, Canada will phase out its milk pricing system, which provided price supports to its dairy industry.

"The top priority for America’s dairy industry in this negotiation has been for Canada to eliminate its program that allows low priced dairy ingredients to undersell United States dairy sales in Canada and in third country markets. As a result of the negotiation, Canada will eliminate what is known as its milk classes 6 and 7," the U.S. Trade Representative's Office said Monday.

Dairy was one of the few issues not covered in the initial NAFTA deal, and Canadian tariffs on U.S. imports totaled as much as 300 percent. Industry lobbyists pushed the White House hard to try to undo Canada's protectionist policies, and Trump became a vocal supporter of their cause, often railing against Canada's policies in tweets. In a Sept. 11 interview on Fox Business White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow identified it as the key factor that was holding up a deal.

"The rules attempt to curb Canadian exports of dairy products, and subsidized Canadian prices, which will be sold as giving US farmers greater access to world markets at fair terms," said Gary Hufbauer, a researcher at the Peterson Institute for International Economics. "However, Canada can claim to its dairy farmers that supply management is still alive and well."

Doesn't seem like Trump is backing down. Of course once he already had the deal with Mexico. It was clear Canada would back down. Reality.....can be hard to accept, especially for leftists huh?

It's "youse people": in Trumpspeak. (-:

Aside from Trump acting like he just won World War Two all by himself, it may be a good deal in ironing out agricultural products and leaving most everything else alone.

I'm still a bit curious what happened to the softwood timber dispute.

Trudeau is still much better in a canoe than Trump is, however.

If there was still a Winnipeg Canoe Club Trudeau would get in and Trump wouldn't.:)

    No need for personal insults.

I am still not sure which "people" you want me to lump into. Others may have called this deal a fail, I have not, no matter how much you think that all to the left of you engage in group think.

Canada says they will reimburse their dairy industry so you can figure that part of the new deal out pretty easy. Sounds like Trump got what he wanted there

I think that's the point. They drop their tariffs and if their voters are as stupid as we are to subsidize corporations producing milk, that's their problem.

Good move by Trump's team, but not exactly a cure for cancer.

Dairy apparently was never covered by NAFTA. go figure.
