    Just so you know the business sites are saying tons of new IT services and technology deals in the new agreement that is a major win for us. I still want to see it before judgement though. The market seems to like it though.

    A few interesting points released by the Canadian Media

    Auto exports...…..

    "However, Ottawa has negotiated what is effectively an exemption, as it would still be able to export cars and parts tariff-free up to a certain amount that is well above what Canada sends south of the border...….WHAT???????????????????.

    Dairy...….

    In exchange for some U.S. concessions on a dispute mechanism, Canada is expected to give U.S. farmers greater access to Canada's dairy market by increasing the quota on foreign imports.

    Under the current supply management system, Canada imposes tariffs on dairy imports — which can run as high as 300 per cent — that exceed the established quota. Trump has railed against these tariffs as unfair to American farmers, as they are designed to keep foreign products out while privileging Canadian sources

    Under the new NAFTA, the U.S. will have roughly the same access to the Canadian dairy market as what was given up by Trudeau when he signed the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) trade deal with 10 Asia-Pacific countries earlier this year.

    MY UNDERSTANDING;

    Before; Canadians were imposing a huge tariff above a quota

    Before; the U.S. will have roughly the same access to the Canadian dairy market as what was given up by Trudeau when he signed the CPTPP trade deal

    After; Canada agreed to raise Uncle Sam's quota, however, what's the tariff above the newly negotiated quota???????????????

    Also; Looks like they have preserved their supply management system

    that's what Ive been reading, trump twist it, and make it look like a win. that's how con man work. after he claim win on EU-US deal, then I read about it, the tariff EVERYTHING still the same. of course most ppl will not read it, just take his word for it.

    Actually, we don't hold all the chips on this game of economic poker. Not by any means.

    We may have 50 years ago, when the Trumpsters world view seems to have formed, but not now.

    And Trumpster parochialism and ignorance of the modern world will insure that they will yell the loudest and be the last people on the planet to realize that their own positions are backward and self destructive.

    I find it ironic that the people most vocal saying that tarrifs on foreign goods are too high think Corporate taxes on American goods are too low.
