I don't readily accept that Trump has a lock on the nomination, I for one and LOTS of other conservatives have their eyes on several others before Trump.

I don't see anyone beating Trump, even DeSantis

However - if multiple people run against him to start, you get a 2016 situation and he comes out on top easily

Last week in Ohio - his guy won with 32%. Don't know anything about who ran against him, but if the opponents had been less, maybe he does not win

As I continue to say, no doubt in my mind that Trump wins in 2024 and will have a shot at the popular vote. However, if DeSantis was the nominee, could be a much more massive win

When is the last time the government arrested or punished a citizen for exercising their right to free speech. Oh, wait. You’re right. DeSantis is punishing Disney. Glad to know Trump won’t allow DeSantis to do that. That’s one reason to vote for him.

Her tell all book would more than make up for whatever she’d lose due to the prenup.

She's just as vapid as he is. She'd have to plagiarize Michelle again.

I don’t know enough about her. She hated being 1st lady. An aware teenager could see that. She admitted to marrying him for his money.

But vapid? I’m not sure. She’s had terrible guidance on this completely unwelcome journey into politics.

I think it’s obvious she doesn’t like him very much.

I know prenups can include much more than money. It can include number of expected sexual encounters, how many high profile events must be attended, etc. basically, outlining the duties of the wife, in exchange for unlimited clothes.

So, my best guess is something in the prenup is holding her back. Likely non disclosure.

Nothing is holding her back except her own narcissism and love of money. Many people have spoken out against the Orange Stain's dirty dealings, including his own niece (who is a mental health professional) and his sister (a judge). They tried to warn the American people and were basically ignored.

So based on just looking at your links, I know there are lies in there, @MJ Davies .

What Melania did to the rose garden was 100% necessary, and long overdue. I did research on that. I’m not sure about your other links, but they may be propaganda, too.

You are entitled to your opinion. I don't like either of them and it's not difficult to see they are only out for themselves.

That is a good thing during the primaries. That is what they are for.
There are two schools of thought:
No Trump and a likely 8 year Republican run.
    Or..
Trump and a likely 12 year Republican run.
    So there is that.

He is as divisive as Trump, and 100% focused on "us vs them".

GOP still has some conservative folks. Why not run them?

Sounds like he would use the government to make media more to his liking, which of course is unconstitutional.

Think about being dragged into politics, then be hated by the press for not being a democrat. She could not fight back, because it was her and Donald against them all!

I hear all this "his guy" stuff, I think it was more to do with policies than personalities. If they can get a DeSantis, Pence, Halley, Youngkin, Scott or other strong conservative who doesn't have all the Trump baggage they could win big time getting the moderates and independents and yes even some Democrats.

The millennials and genX'er's are trying to build lives now and the know now they need republican policies to do it. As they enter their peak earning years, they will remember the economic beat down delivered by democrats.

Oh good grief the White House gardener took it back to it's original better design, are you still spouting this canard just to attack a former First Lady?

Fact check: Melania Trump’s Rose Garden redesign did not remove rose bushes from all first ladies since 1913

...The newly designed Rose Garden was revealed on August 22 (here) ahead of Melania Trump’s Republican National Convention speech delivered from.. the Rose Garden on August 25 (here). Vox explained the changes in more detail here .

First Lady Ellen Wilson did redesign the garden in 1913. As explained in page 3 of the White House Landscape Report (here) “This design was also the first time the garden incorporated roses as the dominant flower in the planting scheme.”

There is no definitive list of all the roses that have been planted in the Rose Garden. The Landscape Report states on page 80 (here) that, “Records are scarce for plantings in the years after Bunny Mellon’s design [in 1962] (beyond commemorative tree planting), up until President Jimmy Carter’s time in residence.” However, on pages 81 to 85 there is a list of a selection of roses grown previously at the White House, showing that different roses were brought in during different administrations.

Reuters asked Marta McDowell, garden historian and author of “All the President’s Gardens” (here), if it was possible that the roses from all previous First Ladies since 1913 would still have been in place just before Melania’s redesign. She told Reuters via email that there is “Not a chance” this would be the case. McDowell added that, “In 1962, the construction of the Kennedy rose garden took the site down to the dirt.  Since then, most administrations have changed out some of the roses—hybrid tea and floribunda roses don’t always thrive, especially in D.C. humidity.  So that statement is not factually correct.”

In July, the Washington Post’s gardening columnist Adrian Higgins wrote that one of the problems Melania needed to address in the redesign was “the die-off of rose bushes to the point where only a dozen or so remained.” (here)...

    VERDICT
False. Melania Trump did not remove the roses from all past First Ladies since 1913. All roses from 1913 to 1962 were removed in the Kennedy redesign and subsequent administrations have had to replace roses that have died. The crab apple trees had been replaced since the Kennedy administration and will be replanted on the White House grounds.

Great job at dividing people and playing culture war games, while ignoring real issues.

I'll be looking for a conservative candidates and I know you won't go there, so there is very little chance we'll vote for the same guy.

Populist politicians are good are playing people like you, so it makes sense you are drawn to him.

The more people like you hate him the better job we know he's doing.

However that's just a side effect of him doing a good job.

You know what your opinion is worth...

I remember when double digit inflation and interest rates turned the baby boomers into conservatives. Was a wake up call and I saved and lived within my means all my life so I could retire comfortably. Now Biden is doing everything he can to take that away.

What a wonderfully simplistic way of "explaining" what he is doing so well.

He is doing heck of a job driving insurance companies out of the State and harassing private companies with his authoritarian BS. Of course you love that. Its tailor made for you.

You have your vote and you can do whatever you want with it.

    Hmmmmmm

MELBOURNE, FL – February 26, 2019 – Gov. Ron DeSantis is one of the most popular governors in America*, according to a new poll conducted by Pulse Opinion Research for U.S. Term Limits.

Statewide, 64 percent of Florida voters approve of the job DeSantis is doing, versus just 24 percent who disapprove. Support for DeSantis is broad across nearly all political and demographic groups.

Among Republicans, 85 percent approve of the Governor while 10 percent disapprove. Among independents, 60 percent approve and 23 percent disapprove. DeSantis is even performing well with Democrats, garnering 46 percent approval versus 39 percent who disapprove.

Additionally, DeSantis' net approval is higher with Hispanic voters (62%-20%) than among the general public. Overall, 62 percent of Hispanic voters, 68 percent of white voters and 40 percent of African-American voters approve of DeSantis.

This Pulse poll of 800 likely voters in Florida has an accuracy of +/- 3.5% with a 95% level of confidence.

    OH and a newer one

Ahead of election, DeSantis approval nears 60 percent

Gov. Ron DeSantis’ approval rating reached a new high at 59 percent, according to a poll conducted by the St. Leo University Polling Institute, a three-point increase from the last approval rating poll conducted last fall.

DeSantis’ rating received a boost after the governor took stances on topics like Critical Race Theory, parental rights, and child welfare, receiving support across the state and the nation at large.
    https://thecapitolist.com/ahead-of-election-desantis-approval-nears-60-percent/

Seems most Floridians support what he is doing including going after a business that had a SPECIAL tax standing because they were using their political muscle to try and allow the sexualization and sexual mutilation of young children.

What conservatives do you have your eyes on?

Then vote for him. If others like him, then I guess thats a good enough reason for some to like him too.

We'll have to wait a couple of years and see who shows up.
