These are 24th century concerns, damn it. We'll have a united earth military presence in space by then, which is far more prudent than placing weapons in space today to threaten one another.

course they bought American made back then, now republican like Bush even try to outsource port security

I think they could of come up with a better name then 'space force', but I think it's a good thing regardless, course will mean more spending and we have less to spend with the huge corp tax cuts

like most American corps, once they control it, it will be outsourced to India, those that control the information have the power, America is giving that power away to India

You understand any real war involving two countries with real armies, navies and air forces, the first shots will take place in space.
Why do you think the U.S. Navy has gone back using sextons at sea for terrestrial navigation ? Any war with the Chi-Coms or the Russians it's expected that American GPS satellites will be destroyed in space.

China is betting that if the U.S. military looses its technology on the battlefield that it can't fight a conventional war.

But but but Vladimir Putin wants Star Fleet Command to be located in Moscow, the Chi-Coms want it to be located in Beijing the liberal snowflake trekkies want it located in San Francisco and President Trump wants it located at Mar-a-Lago.

This. We should be investing in the exploration of space, not its militarization. Exploration would obviously imply some sort of a defense system should be eventually run across other hostile beings, but the idea of developing weapons as our main priority for space to be used, I'm assuming, against our enemies on our own planet? It's such a dull and wasteful suggestion on how to utilize all that potential space to our advantage.

How about we find something out there that we can use and develop into a new technology or even a new way of life before we start developing weapons to protect it?

Leave it to Trump. MAGA is made in such ways.

Obama used NASA for Islamic outreach.

No satellite is just a box. Satellites that are disguised as something else are going to have to have a real mission to disguise them. They are going to have to have power supplies and radiators. They are going to have to have sensors or antennas. They are going to have to send and receive data. They are going to have to be in the correct orbit for that kind of satellites. They are going to have to have dimensions and mass comparable to a satellite of that type.

A “comma satellite” in low earth orbit, with no antennas, that doesn’t transmit or receive like a comma satellite should is going to quickly get outed as a clandestine weapon sat by civilian space observers, let alone military ones.

Just the same, a “comms satellite” in a proper high earth or geosynchronous orbit, that transmits and receives data like it should, has all the correct antennas and looks like a comms sat will get outed because it’s several tons too heavy and several meters cubes too big to be a comms sat of its type.

Trump can send the Colonial Marines to Mars.

They can spell out "Maga" in the space dust, visible from high powered astrophotography telescope satellites.

What language did everyone speak in the 24th century? That's right, English. It's a foregone conclusion, so no point even raising a fuss about it now.

Can't we just send him to Mars instead? I'd chip in on a crowd funding effort to make that happen.

you do realize federal tax revenue has increased after those cuts

Tax Revenues Climbed $18 Billion In First Month Of GOP Tax Cuts

just like federal revenues increased after JFK tax cuts and Reagan cuts

Russian and Chinese satellites would go down well before ours. Every Navy destroyer and cruiser has the ability to shoot down satellites.

Although personally I question the idea of shooting down GPS or US military comms satellites. Every satellite shootdown to date has been in low earth orbit and GPS/military comms satellites are in geosynchronous orbit.

True. And remote sites can be established adjacent to Obama's homes.

No they don't Quester. There are only a handful of Aegis destroyers armed with anti ballistic missiles and they are usually deployed in the 6th Fleet AOR in the Mediterranean Sea and the Eastern and North Western Pacific.

Remember when the Chi-Coms shot down their own satellites and received a lot of crap from the USA and Russia because now there's a bunch of space junk and trash orbiting the Earth making it a danger to other satellites and the International Space Station.

    1. Where is your source on where our ABM systems are deployed?

    2. Again, low earth orbit. GPS satellites and the comms satellites the military uses are not in low earth orbit.

And we aren’t talking a difference of a couple miles. We are talking about a difference of thousands of miles.

I remember not to long ago, late 1990's on certain nights at rock n roll clubs/bars they would have "Swing Night" where bands played swing music that our fathers/mothers or grandparents listened to during the late 1930's and throughout the 40's.

The USNI, Proceedings and Janes are all subscription and Janes is really expensive to gain access to their website, really expensive.

The cheapest source would be Global Security < https://www.globalsecurity.org/ > but it's only free for about four visits per month then the paywall is activated. $20 per month.
