The very real problem is that our president is NOT putting his weight behind solving our COVID problem.

Saying "Easter" just confirms to many that this problem is no big deal and is about to go away.

The message coming from medical experts is that we need to get serious about this, because it is going to get way worse unless we do.

I don't think they want more deaths; however if the government gets their wish, there will be more deaths, thus increasing revenue for the funeral homes who are in business to make money. It's not unreasonable to think that any business would welcome the increased income.

We'll be closer to being able to relax restrictions when we can see that our healthcare system is not going to be overrun.

That will come from slowing the growth rate considerably and creating greater healthcare capacity.

Today, we have retired doctors volunteering to step in - doctors whose age puts them in the high risk category.

Why aren't we doing more to support those who are putting their LIVES on the line for us?

We're seeing first responders accept this risk, too, with 100 NYC policemen now positive.

And, overloaded hospitals are not going to be able to provide the level of care we've enjoyed when we have other reasons for needing them. So this is NOT about throwing grandma under the bus in the name of our economy.

 

This isn't just a biological threat. Its also an economic threat. Trump's medical advisors are but one part of the equation. The job of the administration is to weigh all aspects. At a certain point, the economic damage to our citizens becomes worse than the biological damage. A balance must be maintained or we're just setting the survivors of the virus up to be destroyed by poverty and social collapse.

 

Dr. Fauci just stated that certain parts of the country may be “opened” with the decision being data driven. Dr. Birx had data showing that the testing capability and accuracy is taking off with 220,000 tests in the last 8 days. Clearly Trump and the medical experts are talking and in agreement that the “opening” will be data driven and locational.

Per Gallup Trump’s approval rating is at a high of 49% and his handling of the Corona virus approval rating is 60%.

 

I've seen no reports on results of the DPA other than by FEMA. EVERY Trump briefing on COVID has included lies, so pardong the heck out of me if I look for evience.

South Korea had that many tests more than a month ago.

My bet is that helped in their effort to create a distancing strategy that has made them second country to flatten their growth curve.

Another step in testing is the need for cooridinate reporting methodology based on science. Tdoay, different states have differen reporting mechanisms, making the resulting data far less useful.

 

The medical part is being ignored far much.

Trump is clearly not understanding what exponential growth means, is ignore the CDC and others on what the coming few weeks will look like, what it's doing to our healthcare capacity for all needs (not just COVID) and is not projecting to the Amerian people what needs to be done to get this under control.

If we want to get back to normal, we have work to do. America is not getting that message.

Reminds me how some ppl think doctors should have jurisdiction over our rights too. 'This book says ur crazy, so you can't have kids, guns or a car.' Just like how courts need to be involved in that process, this one has legal and economic ramifications that doctors are not qualified for.

China dishonestly stated to the WHO that the virus could not be transferred from human to human. Trump saw through that and was accused of racism.

Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx agree that sections of the US could be opened by Easter if the data supported it.

Most of these people were fired because they weren't bootlickers. Many dared to tell Trump the truth, and since Trump is sure that HE knows more than any expert on any topic, that wouldn't go over well. Of course not everyone on this extremely long list was fired, or fired because they challenged Trump's horse pucky, but many were.

Just reporting something I heard while falling asleep last night. Since then, I've heard that the one death was not part of the small study group, but was someone who took the drug before being tested for the virus and before he had any symptoms. Apparently, he took a double dose because he thought it would keep him from getting sick.
