So Obama was bad at his job ? We already knew that.

Congress appropriates the money to keep the government running not the President.

The Budget passed in the House and failed in the Senate. The bill needed 60 votes in the Senate to pass. There are only 51 Republican Senators.

This time around, it's Schumer's government shutdown in behalf of illegal aliens.

It seems that Democrats have put illegal aliens at the top of the pecking order in America.

And I'm sure that the right is just failing at pushing their "truth."

Funny thing about truth, it doesn't need to be pushed. It just is.

With that fact in mind, the pushing the left is doing falls into it's proper light.

The only thing Trump is good leading-wise is leading the public's money straight into his bank accounts.

Eh, Dems would do it anyway, they need no foil. They didn't need one in 2013.

Innocent dreamers aren't going anywhere. Those on the older end of the DACA spectrum might be invited to leave if they've accumulated a few felonies or violent misdemeanors etc.

The compromise available was the wall and the visa lottery program. If Dems would have agreed the dreamers would have been living free and easy today.

I think America is tired of your PC ****, and boy oh boy, 2020 is going to be hilarious when Trump gets re-elected. If you all thought the meltdown sims had last election was bad, the next one is going to go nuclear.

Does anyone have a link to something more substantial in detail that Schumer offered Trump? What didn't he like? He stated before he'd make a deal. I find it a fair compromise.. Very fair to get the funding for the wall approved for the DACA folks to get safeguarded. It's a no Brainer.

All I can find is BS finger pointing and stupid tweets

3/4 of the people on this forum could have hammered out a compromise but I have the sneaky suspicion this is both sides using the in my mind needed wall ( symbolism) and the DACA kids as fuel to influence the midterms. I also think it's stupid for anyone in the conservative camp to think we are going to come out ahead. I'm very worried we will lose our majority. Trumps blatantly anti immigrant tweets today don' help. It's not their fault. It's his.

    Compromise!!

Still very happy I voted for Trump but that's just economicaly. Sigh. Fire that fktard Stephen Miller immediately is my advice.

    The following Democrats voted yes.....

    Donnelly Ind.
    Heitkamp N.D.
    Jones Ala.
    Manchin III W.Va.
    McCaskill Mo.

Jones Ala? Would that be the Jones who just won Sessions seat voting against the Democrats????

Good for you, if it makes you feel any better about Obama's failed economic policies that resulted in a mean growth rate of just .8% above another recession.

Get ready for the end of the Democrats chances to take back the House or the Senate in November..........

N.Y. Fed raises U.S. fourth-quarter GDP growth view to near 4 percent.

    It's the economy!

Where did you see this? I can't find details. More importantly why isn't Trump tweeting that?? He's tweeting about all illegals. Not that Dems want criminals to be part of the deal. Fk that. Deport every illegal felon. Their kids can stay.

That is a traumatized sounding opinion: "oh, my God, real Americans are catching on that we have been lying to them." Yep. That is reflected in the lousy numbers for the GOP and Trump.

Ah so if we start looking we find news that Schumer didn't really offer wall funding. Just a pittance. I still can't find details of what he wanted included in DACA. I'm starting to feel better that once details get out, this might be good for maintaining control over both houses. It's all I care about.

Now if I can just find proof that Schumer wanted DACA recipients parents with felonies protected I'll be 100% satisfied this is going to be great for our country

Mulvaney, citing Kelly, said that Schumer told Trump he would agree to "all the money for the wall," which Trump took to mean the full $20 billion that building a partial border wall is expected to cost. But what Schumer was actually talking about was the $1.6 billion the White House had already sought in an annual appropriations bill. Mulvaney said this misunderstanding reflected Schumer's duplicitous negotiating tactics.

the compromise was bipartisan, 3 republicans and 3 democrats came up with it - Trump decided to shut down the government rather then supporting the bipartisan proposal

There are three branches of government. The Legislative branch which makes or rescinds laws that are passed by both houses of Congress and forwarded to the President to sign into law. The Executive Branch which implements the law. It does not make law. The Judicial branch which rules if a law is or isn't constitutional.

Looks like to me that the Congress is responsible for the shut down. Apparently they couldn't get enough people to agree on the bill. Nothing good or bad about that. That is the way the system is suppose to work. Too bad we haven't had more laws blocked.
