Just because they're doctors doesn't automatically mean they were infected at work. It's perfectly possible that they caught it elsewhere. Anyway, much of the point of the standard infection control kit medical staff wear is to protect patients from them more than the other way around.

Whatever religious or secular label one wishes to give to their beliefs, it is when such beliefs become 'dogmatic' (not open to having a view challenged by evidence, reason and scientific studies) that you run into problem, not what label you give to the beliefs at issue. Of course, those who are genuinely attached to a scriptural, received, understanding of issues (regardless of the 'scripture' at issue) are almost automatically and by definition people who believe in dogma. But dogmatic people include many atheists and people holding all sorts of 'secular ideologies' as well. On the other hand, while somewhat rare, you can find people of faith (though not so much those who believe in scripture) that are actually logical, open minded, and the opposite of being dogmatic.

 

If what we now have is less than perfection it just ain't good enough and people must demand, scream, and shout for immediate perfection right now and yesterday.

 

We can make anything. I think some sort of rebreather apparatus that uses medical oxygen would be the cheapest and least intrusive option. But i really doubt we could get enough made, bugs worked out, and get folks trained to work while using them in time to make a difference. Prolly more effective at this point to use those resources on hiring more ppl trained to administer IV fluids and take vitals.

There is NO evidence that has had any effect. The head of the agency resigned in protest they were being reorganized and consolidated, the others were not renewed due to that.
