    The disease would have never gotten that far if not for Trump's short-sighted ending of the Pandemic Branch. Epidemics like this are routine in China who had come to rely on our CDC since we are the only ones in the world who have such a good medical establishment and they thought we would continue not to cut off our nose to spite our face. They didn't reckon with Bonespurs, it seems, (if only we had) the man gives malignant stupidity a bad name.

    We are being forewarned that the true problem with this highly contagious virus
    is exposure.The only true way to stop the spread is abject containment.Meaning
    limited travel and group exposure.Millennials are not taking it serious enough.They just
    as soon Go Out and Party hardy.Feeling they are not at risk.They can catch this flu just
    as easy as any other group. But cannot develop serious illness as other groups.

    I do not claim to be Christian but I know more that the poster I originally responded to. They seem to think Christians consider themselves immune to suffering. Not true.

    Oh stop with the canard, we had CDC personnel who were prepared to go there with aid and assistance and the Chinese said it wasn't needed. They didn't even let in the WHO. There is not a shred of evidence that rolling the pandemic response team into the already existing CDC and NIH departments caused any delays to our response. We have the best of the best working on this and were able to pull those in instead of just having those on the this team.

    China has yet to allow CDC in country to help with coronavirus

    Says who? The head guy quit when he learned it would be reorganized, most of the others were rolled into existing CDC and NIH departments already set up to handle such emergencies.

    You Trumpers are amazing. It doesn't matter what he does or what the consequences are Trump is totally and utterly blameless of all culpability. He could start WWIII because he got excited in the Superbowl and threw the Nuclear Football for a Hail Mary and you'd be going on about how the "commies" finally started the Big One, just like Trump had always said they would.

    Hell, that's happening now, we're sitting in ruins of our economy waiting to die of the Final Plague, and you're all saying it will die down in April.

    The Chinese said it wasn't needed because they weren't there to begin with. They're very secretive about their diseases as most of them go away but if we pay attention to all of them it makes them look disease-ridden, which they are but short of killing all the Chinese, there isn't much helping that.

    The cons here sing and dance as well as anyone I've ever seen, but in the end, the fact remains, Trump, abolished the Pandemic Branch and less than 2 years on we are facing the worst plague in modern history. Thank you Corporal Bonespurs the Brave and good job to the crew of the Painted Lady.

    Says anyone with a scintilla of common sense. Omniscient Trumpers may be able to handle having several new jobs thrown at them when they are "rolled into" other departments that do completely different things but most of us, particularly in the Medical fields find it hard to just throw over epidemiology to start specializing in wall-building injuries.

    That was February 3rd. AFTER Trump had declared a public health emergency, almost a month after it was identified as a virus. The entire Trump abolished our pandemic response capability is a canard being hyped up to scare the public and attack Trump. Disgraceful. We have the best and the brightest working on this and neither you nor you other buddies here have provided a shred of evidence that our response was delayed because those response team members were consolidated into the existing teams at CDC and NIH.

    Gloves, masks, hats and gowns in standard clinical environments. It obviously depends on exactly what work they were doing. The point is that someone was suggesting the fact doctors were infected would indicate their protective equipment might have failed and I was pointing out why that is unlikely to be the case (though it isn't impossible).
