They cannot force cities to abide by state laws, if the local leaders simply refuse to comply. The state of California is a prime example of such.

Who was allowed to have guns after Heller that wasn't previously allowed to have guns? The nationwide gun suicide rate increased less than the non-firearm suicide rate, and the homicide rate in DC fell significantly. Did Heller cause the gun suicide rate to increase significantly less than the hanging/suffocation suicide rate increased from 2008 to 2016?

 

Even if such was indeed the case, what difference does it make when the FBI points out that the homicide rate prior to the Heller ruling, and after the Heller ruling remain the same? Why does it matter if more individuals were murdered through the illegal use of firearms, if the rate of murder remains unchanged? Why does a shift in the implement carry any validity, when all other factors remain equal regardless?

The NRA is at least honest about where it stands. It has always admitted to being a firearms advocacy group. The violence policy center, by comparison, is not honest about its position of advocating for firearm prohibitions, and instead tries to claim it is all about public safety, when it is not.

But the VPC has been repeatedly proven to be dishonest. The NRA has always been honest, and its every utterance has been scrutinized by the gun banners so if the NRA ever lies (or even tilts slightly toward a misstatement) the banners would crucify them.
