So you are saying 240,000 deaths in a year from...what, first infection? first death?

I'll use a shorter sentence, taken from the long post you had trouble interpreting.

IHME predicts total deaths on 6/1 is 81,600.

Nothing "me" in there. IHMA predicts. I'm not part of IHME. I'm not a modeling expert, so I am going with what the experts say.

Edited to fix newest IHME prediction that came out yesterday afternoon.

So in other words, you never intended to respond to my question, which was this:

So you are on some other tangent.

    OK

Why do you want a prediction on the number of deaths from someone who claims to NOT be a modeling expert? My opinion is of no value. I'm going with what the IHME says, because so far, they've been pretty spot on with their projections.

A better question is, why did you respond to a comment that was a response to another poster when you had no intention of responding to the comment in the first place? I didn't ask you, you decided to jump in and respond, in a totally non relevant way.

Obviously you are free to respond to comments not directed to you, but it's puzzling that you would do that when you were clueless on what was being discussed and seem to not want to discuss it.

Ah. I thought I was giving you information you were actually seeking. So you have no actual interest in the projections, you're just playing a game of gotcha with someone? Never mind. Carry on and have fun.

Yeah it’s a wee bit off..

With NY just adding deaths to the overall count that they “believe” to be C19 related the count is still trending to be under the 60k estimates.

The multiple folks on here who were predicting “bodies piled in the streets” were not even on the way to the ballpark much less in it.

Well now that the reporting for COVID-19 deaths doesn't require a positive test, the numbers will skyrocket...they just won't really be COVID-19 deaths.

    True.

It’s a pretty crappy way to track the honest impact of this. A dead 84 year is not something that should automatically be attributed to C19 for oblivious reasons.

Thankfully Texas is starting the reopening process. Let’s start the journey back...God Bless Texas :)

That's. Because. We. Started. Social. Distancing.

    So they say.

    They said 6 foot SD

Then they said 13 foot SD

    They said no mask

    Then it was masks

You put your faith in them all you want, some folks will believe anything they say. I’m not one.

The facts (see the USS Roosevelt and the info out of California) seems to suggest this virus is everywhere and so many people have been exposed to this, so social distancing is not the reason the death rate is so low. It’s was never the killer some said it was.

Credit SD all you want, it’s conjecture.

Congratulations. Not many humans can have a perfect understanding of a completely unknown topic in the first few minutes. This is especially true when it's a relatively unknown virus. But, hey.... you are awesome. Why don't you go work for the WHO and solve everything six months ago?

Oh, and, BTW.... in case you hadn't noticed, we have irrefutable and conclusive proof that this thing spreads like nutz. If you don't know that by now, it's because you don't want to know.

Which proves my point. SD did not “save us all” as you seem to think. This virus was and is all over the place. The reason it’s not killing people is is not nearly as deadly as some seem to think it is.

Then why are people dying at a speed we've never seen before? The flu is hundreds per week. This is currently 2,000/day.

What is so hard to understand about trying to ensure we have enough hospital space, doctors, nurses, cleaning staff, morgues, morticians, funeral homes, clergy, people to attend funerals.... to handle the rate per day? These numbers are not "instead of," they are in addition, too. Though, there are definitely far fewer accident victims.

Because 10s of millions of people have contracted this virus. If the numbers out of California that I linked are just 50% accurate then over 25,000,000 people have been infected. That’s a death rate of 0.15%. It’s simply not the killer some say. Social distancing Did not keep millions from dying, they were never going to.

Look at the numbers off the Roosevelt, well over 1/2 the confirmed cases had no symptoms. This virus has run thru millions of people already.

    Yeah. Thick.

Start at 10 minutes. Then again at 13 minutes.

Professor Wittkowski has been proven right, recently by the Swedish results, and today by the Stanford study.

Anyone not hamstrung by cognitive dissonance, who is interested in seeing an actual scientist be nearly universally -right- on this topic, as opposed to moronic bureaucrats and partisan "ORANGEMANBAD" of the Complex MSM and shills, please watch the whole thing.

    Great observation.

I think in NY if your over 65 and die and there are not huge shark bites on your body the C19 killed ya. And if there are shark bites on you, the C19 would have killed you anyways so let's add that to the count.

I like him. He does not mince words. Does not try and speak "nicely" to protect his more "cautious" peers.

More proof SD is a feel good measure. Hell anybody leaving their house and going out in public in America can tell you people are not even doing it.

What is your explanation for double the normal number of daily deaths in New York?
